This property is absolutely stunning. We could not have asked for a better vacation spot. We had such a great time, kayaking and paddle boarding in the cove. Our boys got to crab during low tide. And we enjoyed our coffee every morning overlooking the water. It was absolutely priceless. We can’t wait to come back!

We had such an amazing time at the Dal House. The home and property are off the beaten path on the beautiful Westport Island, but still close enough to all the mid-coast hot spots. We loved being on this beautiful inlet and watching the tides and the wildlife. The home is very comfortable with a very well-stocked kitchen. The living room has beautiful views of the water and was a highlight of the home. Westport Island has great hiking and history, a lovely brewery/farm, fresh oysters and a peaceful environment. We brought a paddleboard and could easily enjoy the inlet from the dock when the tide was right. Communication with the host was great and check-in was super easy. Such a beautiful home and property!

We love it here so much we came back a second year in a row. This is the most peaceful, serene spot to relax and escape for a bit. Amazing water views during the day, camp fires & star gazing at night, doesn't get any better! Very private & quiet with a wonderful sun room to enjoy the views, plus dog friendly!

Amazing location!

This is our second time staying at this house. We’ve loved it each time. The house, the yard and the location are wonderful. We enjoyed kayaking and exploring the area. Our dog had the best time.

Amazing property with the best Nature has to offer.

We absolutely loved this place! The accommodations were above and beyond our expectations. We loved the kayaking. Saw so much amazing wildlife, and beautiful scenery. Definitely would love to go back next year. Very thoughtful host! Thanks for an awesome vacation!!!

Such a wonderful place for us to finally get some relaxation... Kids flew in from California and couldn't have found a better place for us to reunite. We saw lots of wildlife especially the deer which would bed down outside our bedroom window at night (I think that was my dogs favoriteHe would get all excited when he saw them) never chased only stared and smelled the air which was so cute

Beautiful and Peaceful Getaway

The DAL House is a lovely home in a gorgeous location. We loved walking the trails on the property and exploring Westport Island. Waking up in the morning and watching the sun shine on the water as the tide came in was such a treat. A quiet spot filled with beauty and a house filled with great amenities and a cozy feel. We loved every moment of our stay.

Slice of paradise!

We loved our stay at the DAL House! The property was absolutely gorgeous and the home was clean and spacious - our family of four adults had plenty of space. If you're looking for a place to disconnect, unwind, and relax, this is it. It's very quiet and private - you simply won't want to leave! We look forward to returning one day.

The house sits at the top of a hillside overlooking a picturesque tidal cove. The property is somewhat remote on a 52 acre preserve that abounds with wildlife. Its’ remoteness provides a quietude & peacefulness that was a welcome change from our busy lives.

Beautiful location!

We’re stayed here several times in the past. It never disappoints! The home is always comfortable and the location is amazing. We always get a visit from a porcupine, several deer and all kinds of birds, including eagles! The family always has a great time, but our dog always has twice as much fun as everyone else.

Peace and tranquillity in Midcoast Maine. Three generations of our family spent a week in this charming, quintessential old Maine coastal cottage. The house was like a favorite old pair of jeans - cozy and comfortable. The views are spectacular, and sitting by the water watching Eagles and Ospreys is the perfect tonic for what ails you. Check-in and communication with the owner were excellent. If you want remote and peaceful yet near enough to enjoy attractions like the Maritime Museum, Five Island Lobster, Reid State Park, L.L. Bean, etc. this is your place.

Perfect Maine Vacation

This is the location for the perfect Maine vacation. The house is situation on a nature preserve and we saw deer, turkeys, and porcupines. The house is spectacular and well equipped with everything you will need for a comfortable visit. We spent hours watching the tide come in and go out from the living room, which has gorgeous views. The kitchen is well equipped with any equipment you may need for cooking. Our family had a wonderful time and can't wait to visit this very special place again.

Wesport Island - June '23

My wife, daughter, and our two dogs enjoyed our stay at the DAL house. Communication with the host was easy and the house had all the amenities we needed. As others have written, the house is situated roughly 15 minutes from the main road, so getting off island is not a problem. The location also allows you to visit a number of other popular spots in Maine in an hour or less (Harpswell, Booth Bay, Camden, etc). Our dogs loved the yard and ease of access to the water.

30th Anniversary Treat!

We wanted to go somewhere special for our Anniversary.. Maine is an extremely dog welcoming State and so was this home! First 3 days was heavy rain so could not do any hiking but didn't slow us down. House was fully stocked w/ everything we needed and more! Saw plenty of wildlife, were able to go shopping, went on many trips and adventures and even went to beach.

Second Time’s a Charm…

We had our second stay at Dal House this week and it was even better than the first. The house is exactly as described. What cannot be put into words is the view from the sunroom. It is the perfect place to watch the tide roll in and roll out. This time around we explored the island a bit more and made a visit to Sasanoa Brewery and a few local preserves- Bonyun & Segerstrom. As a bonus, both Boothbay Harbor & Brunswick are a short drive away and had so much to offer (even with our dog!). We cannot wait to return.
