Welcome to villa Blanca Tortuga, high above it all in a 1920's loft style apartment. This vacation rental is on the second floor, is perfect for a relaxing place to nest and is accessible to immediate urban amenities, well situated only two blocks from the university of Arizona, within a mile of the university medical center, near the gem show venues, and close to anything in central Tucson. This charming 1920's carriage house is located in Sam Hughes, a national historic neighborhood, has been recently lovingly updated, is bright, spacious and very comfortable.
This fully outfitted carriage house has a complete kitchen with a gourmet stainless range, microwave, coffee maker, blender, all utensils and dishes. The dining patio seats four, and the home boasts old world furnishings. All utilities are included; along with high speed internet, a DVD player and a deluxe 42" television with 99 cable channels! There is a he washer/dryer, a wonderfully charming vintage bathroom - complete with luxury linens. Villa Blanca Tortuga sleeps two persons comfortably with a master bedroom that sleeps two (Simmons Beautyrest Classic McCalister Plush Super Pillow Top King sized bed).
With the gorgeous weather found in Tucson, the large rear patio can double as a dining room. The small yard boasts comfortable patio furniture perfect for enjoying the birds and butterflies while sipping your morning beverage.

Historic Charm, Great Location

Access to the property was excellent. Parking was easy. The place is spacious and clean. The photos are accurate. The host was most welcoming. I would like to stay here again.

This was one of the easiest and well-appointed stays we have ever had. It suited our needs exactly, was convenient to downtown and campus and was also full of interesting art and chocolate! House Erica and property were both wonderful!

An entrepreneur by nature, I have enjoyed the freedom and flexibility that a self directed path can provide. I have loved to travel and annually embark upon both a beach vacation and an exotic destination in a far away continent - you will find exotic mementos from my travels adorn Villa Blanca and inspire the eclectic sampling of the world within. I was born in Villa Blanca Tortuga, and Grew up in Tucson in this very property, I wanted to name my special bungalow property to honor my connection to my mother, my family and the heritage of the house, hence the name Villa Blanca which means white house - where my friends said I lived as a kid. While home in Tucson, I love to landscape, You will see me working on my properties tending to the mesquite trees, Peruvian apple cactus a native willow or assisting guests at Villa Blanca and other homes. I have always enjoyed cooking - entertaining friends and family and hosting many social events, and look forward to hosting you during your stay in Tucson!

Why they chose this property

My parents were renting Villa Blanca Tortuga, the carriage house in the 1960's while attending the University of Arizona. When I was one year old my parents read an ad in the paper, where the original owners of Villa Blanca - had listed the entire property for sale - it turned out to be my parents landlords - who enjoyed the young couple so - and sold it to my parents over another buyer. With the assistance of my Grandmother for a down payment, My mother and father moved to the front house and raised us girls - in College I too lived in the Carriage house, and my sister also lived high above it all 'upstairs'. In 2010 Villa Blanca passed through the generations from my grandmother, mother and sister to my self - for me to share with you as Villa Blanca Tortuga .

What makes this property unique

I love Villa Blanca Tortuga with all of my heart - it is a beautiful lofty home full of warmth, Joy and truly does hold many wonderful memories in life - good times with friends - walking or bicycling to the University of Arizona - having breakfast at Rincon market, creating independence as an adult - Fantastic dinners on the Patio. In this space, the lofty views can't be beat and the special Stained Glass windows - I did in college are pretty special too... Now it's your turn to make some memories and experience the warmth and love of a family carriage home known as Villa Blanca Tortuga .
