About the host
Hosted by Chris Gann

My wife and I were born and raised in North Carolina. I was fortunate that my grandparents owned one of the round houses on the slopes where I grew up learning to ski/snowboard during the winter season and enjoying family and friends throughout the years. That house was then passed to my parents where we continued family traditions even to this day. My wife and I now have a little one that we are excited to continue these traditions on Beech Mountain for many years to come.
Why they chose this property
We chose this property on Beech Mountain because we wanted a space of our own to continue family traditions and accommodate our growing family for the years to come. We love Beech Mountain and the growth we have seen on the mountain throughout the years. With its seasonal sports, local parks and hikes, local eaters and only being a few short minutes from Banner Elk, we felt this was a perfect location for us to invest our time and invite others to see why we consider Beech Mountain our home away from home.
What makes this property unique
We consider this property unique for a few reasons. One, it's only two short minutes from the base of the slopes where you can rent skis/snowboards, grab some delicious food, find your favorite local brew from Beech Mountains Brewery and listen to live music almost nightly. Secondly, stepping onto the back deck you will find yourself getting lost in the sounds of the two small streams that flow through the backyard only to find a family of friendly deer making their way up the back of the property (possibly a mama bear and three cubs in the spring and summer months). Lastly, we find this property special because it’s not located on Beech Mountain Parkway which can get busy and noisy. We are far enough away that you forget you are staying in a resort town but close enough that you can get to everything very easily.
