Cedar Chalet in Snowdonia Wales. Stunning Woodland Views & Pool, Family & Pets
Nestling in a quiet mountain location with breath taking views. This family cedarwood chalet has been owned by my family since it was built in 1960. Recently renovated but holding on to family charm with hints of retro 60s feel !! Fully fitted kitchen, comfortable open plan living, 2 comfortable bedrooms and quaint 60s half sized bathtub. Including 3 port gaming flat screen satellite TV, USB charging sockets, electric log burner, no shower (yet) but oodles of hot soft water. Bedrooms are comfortable with mattress, pillow, dovet protectors and new bedding provided. There is a put u up single bed for use in living room if needed to make sleeping for 5
With multiple outside seating & eating areas, although due to mountain location not suitable for disabled access or unattended small children. Well behaved dogs welcome but must be kept on a lead. Site has bar & restaurant offering both eat in & takeaway, laundry, table tennis room and wonderful outside pool. Motorbikes welcome and owners can book you guided tours of north wales or off roading \ trail riding too.
Situated in the picturesque and natural beauty of the Snowdonia National Park, Woodlands allows you to enjoy the peace, relaxation and tranquillity of this cosy chalet. Woodlands is south facing, set amidst mature gardens and landscaping giving you the opportunity to appreciate the surrounding countryside. Surrounded by birdsong in the day and owls a night, wonderful dark skys for star gazing and badgers snuffling about you really are holidaying in the countryside.
Only 2miles to Tywyn with wonderful sandy beaches, shopping, outdoor sports, restaurants, steam train and honey icecream .... Whether you are looking for activities or simply relaxation you are sure to find plenty on offer in the area. Sea and fresh water fishing, sailing, wind surfing, mountain biking, horse riding, golfing are all available in the locality. On the other hand you might just prefer to enjoy the areas abundant wildlife and historic sites or simply sit and relax overlooking the sunsets of Cardigan Bay.
If you are a keen walker Bird Rock (Craig y Deryn) offers fantastic views of the Dysynni Valley whilst a trip on the narrow-guage Tal-y-llyn Railway is a must for all, stopping at Dolgoch Falls and Nant Gwernol where you can enjoy walks through the woods and to the old slate mine.
Driving allows you to access the farthest North of Wales within the hour where you will find mount Snowdon, Anglesey as well as Portmeirion which was created by Welsh architect Clough Williams-Ellis from 1925 to 1976 to show how a naturally beautiful site could be developed without spoiling it. Portmeirion village and gardens is one of Wales' premier visitor attractions, welcoming over 200,000 visitors every year.
The Chalet has a range of leaflets offering visitor attractions.

About the host
Hosted by Pamela Kendall

Hello 👋 My Grandfather purchased the chalet so his family could 'go home'. Ive enjoyed a lifetime of holidays here. Firstly my Grandmother then my mother have looked after the chalet and now its my turn to look after the chalet for future generations. The chalet hadnt changed much since the 1960s !! So last year my husband and I refurbished the chalet but i was determined to keep hints of family holidays for us & you to enjoy. From original 60s pyrex to dads tie hidden in a wardrobe, from a memory shelf we want you to add to and even grandads chair still remain. But we added a brand new kitchen, wooden flooring, huge cosy sofa, new bedding, USB charging sockets, electric in the bedrooms 😲 flat screen gaming satellite tv and so much more to make visitors feel comfortable and enjoy your stay !! It costs a lot to maintain a caravan \ chalet these days so i had no option but to start letting & sharing our chalet so it can pay the bills. Im determined that the chalet is spotless clean with lots of new fixtures & fittings. Weve also added some modern touches like flat screen gaming tv whilst retaining some original retro items too. Please note i havent been able to refurbish the bathroom yet. So you get to enjoy the original 1960s mini bath, we love it and we will be keeping it !! No shower yet, but oodles of hot soft water ..... The bathroom is spotless clean. Theres a dining table & chairs so you can set up an indoor dining space or eat outside too.
Why they chose this property
I now live near Caernarfon North Wales but i firmly believe that the chalet location is the very best & most beautiful countryside Wales can offer. With the greenest fields & mountains, the widest sandy beaches and endless attractions theres so much to see & do. Whilst retaining the peace & quiet of rural wales the chalet offers relaxing onsite breaks with stunning views, delicious food & drink in the restaurant, a beer by the pool and hours of fun in the sun in the heated outdoor pool. Or a base to head out for long lazy days on the beach and day trips around mid & north Wales.
What makes this property unique
Chalet offers you a holiday at affordable prices, compared with similar properties locally. With quiet mountain seclusion with bar, restaurant, games rooms, sunbathing terraces and pool. Comfortable modern interior with retro fun detailing. Family & pet friendly or just a couples retreat. Spectacular mountain, valley & distant sea views from the door. Access to mid and north wales within an hours drive or simply stay local and enjoy beaches, steam trains, waterfalls, cute harbour villages or the hustle & bustle of Barmouth the mini blackpool look alike of wales with fair rides, slots and chippy lunch.
