Great Weekend!
The cabin is very nice, just as described. It is way back off the main road, you have to take seasonal roads back to it, which were in excellent condition. We were pleasantly surprised that there were very few bugs, we enjoyed a campfire both nights.Mike was very responsive and a great host. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area.
My friends and I found this property very cute and comfortable. Mike was very communicative with us and took the extra steps to make sure it felt like home. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quite spot surrounded by woods. We all loved it!!
The location was remote but still close enough to civilization. The cabin was clean. No bugs which is surprising being in a wooded area. Very quiet and peaceful. Walking trail right out the door. Can't wait to go back.
This place is absolutely perfect for a break from the craziness of life. You are secluded enough but not so far away from stores and places to visit. It was so peaceful and the kids loved all the room to run, play, dog and explore. The inside of the cabin looked just as it was advertised and the kids LOVED the loft. It was perfect for the four of us. We would definitely recommend to others who want to get away for a little bit. I would highly recommend bringing dirt bikes or 4 wheelers if you have them as there are tons of tracks around the cabin.
Went to TC for a soccer match. Made a Memorial Day weekend out of it and oh my! Mike made things so easy and was a joy to work with. Everything you need is there. Venturing in the woods to sitting by the campfire, every minute was enjoyed. Only 25 minutes from dowtown TC and you'd think you were hours away. Didn't see a single human or vehicle while we were at the property. Very relaxing and plan on staying next time we are in the Traverse City area.

Thank you so much for leaving the place in great condition. You are welcome back at any time.
This cozy cabin was just what we were looking for. The host, Mike, was really lovely and we had everything we needed. The kitchen is fully stocked, and it would be a great place for kids to bike around a bit (we didn't bring bikes but we should have!). The dirt roads are very quiet. It's about an hour to Petoskey or Charlevoix, a great starting point for hiking and visiting Lake Michigan. Our kids (7&9) absolutely loved the loft - they felt like they had their own fort in the cabin, and they engaged in a lot of imaginary play.
We had no problem getting into the area in our Mazda3 (front-wheel drive). I'd recommend accessing the area via Boardman River Road and Wildwood rather than Shippy (the way Google kept telling us to go) since it's a better dirt road.
The front porch was a relaxing place for coffee and reading, and there were hardly any mosquitoes (at least this year).
All in all, a great stay, and I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a north woods getaway.
We rented this cabin for a place to sleep while attending a co workers wedding in Traverse City. This property far exceeded our expectations. What we thought would be a crash pad turned into the highlight of the trip.
The cabin was so cozy and inviting! I stayed in the upstairs loft and was worried I would be warm in the night but Mike left multiple plug in fans around the cabin for us to use if needed.
The cabin came fully equipped with all the cooking utensils we needed to prepare meals as well as community items for sharing like mustard and coffee!
Although we did not have any ATV’s or other recreational vehicles to explore the back woods with we made the most of it with morning nature walks. We enjoyed many laughs around the fire pit and star gazed on the hammocks.
You can tell this property is well loved and it holds a lot of wonderful memories for many (myself now included!)
Mike was so kind and easy to work with. We definitely want to rent this property again in the future!
Thank you!
Property owner communicated very well. Also lives nearby and offered to drop by quickly if we needed help with anything.
Very quiet property - (10 acres of pine forest and ferns)
Lots to do nearby. We kayaked the Manistee River, did the Mission Point wineries and rode horses.
Property has a bunch to do also (including a fire pit and grill) that we never had a chance to use.
Television was easy to learn. We are not techy but figured it out quickly. Cell reception was good, which is not always the case in northern Michigan.
One warning would be the private, dirt road. It was not too bad but if you have an SUV and a car then take the SUV, especially if it's snowy or rainy.
We would definitely go back.

Great little cabin
The cabin was great - it had everything we needed. It was pretty secluded so it was very peaceful. The owner even set up the fire pit for us so all I had to do was light it and we had a bonfire going on the first night. He was helpful and checked in on us to see if we needed anything. I would definitely stay here again.
The cabin was quiet and cozy. I would say there was only one complaint I had which is not against the cabin/property directly. On our second night there we were just wanting to relax outside by a fire. But...VERY close to the property there was someone shooting a gun (probably at targets) for 1 hour and 45 minutes. This is not a relaxing atmosphere. We are not anti gun people - we also target shoot but it was uncomfortable sitting there with guns going off and not having a clue who is shooting ( are they safe with the guns etc...)

Great location
Peace and quite is what you get with this cute cabin. Great location for anyone wanting to ride their recreational vehicles. Beds are comfortable. Water pressure in the shower is amazing! House host is quick to respond to questions. Highly recommend.
This property is just that Rustic and beautiful. It is truly the cabin, woodsy feel. We rented the place to have the rustic, away from modern society and technology to be just family. No internet (Great) can have the natural bonding time with family like the good old days. I have nothing bad to say about this cabin. My family loved it and we most definitely would chose to stay here again if we make it back up this way in the near future. Thank you to our contact person he was very friendly and made check in super easy. Great time with family.
The porch was perfect! The cabin was cozy and well stocked with clean sheets and fresh towels. Just bring clothes and food, and you’re set for a relaxing stay.

I took my mom my sis and my kids and they loved it, it was very nice a quiet, peaceful and relaxing. There was what we needed there even things we forgot to bring. The owner was very nice was there waiting for us at the time we stated. Kids loved the loft with the spiral staircase. Will be going again
I’ve stayed in a lot of vacation rentals throughout the US and overseas and, unfortunately, this one really stood out. The cabin is mostly as pictured, but it is very much in need of care and attention.
The description (at booking and during our stay) said that the cabin has central air conditioning. It has a single window AC unit. The appliances are in a poor state of repair. Unfortunately, the fridge does not maintain a consistent temperature and I had to throw out much of our food after it froze in the fridge. The microwave is small and the roof was splattered with old food. The washer and dryer were functional but extremely noisy.
Towels are provided, but they were mostly threadbare and frayed. Several had large holes – 6-8 inches long - in them, no better than rags. The kitchen, especially the silverware drawers needed an extensive deep clean. The cabin is poorly lit and many bulbs need replacing – we had to use our phones as flashlights.
There is no WiFi, which wouldn’t be a problem, except that cell service is very spotty, with one bar if you are lucky. It was difficult to reach the host and no instructions, check-in instructions, or directions were provided. It would have been useful to know, in advance, for example, that the road to the cabin is a very uneven dirt road. It is 40 minutes from Traverse city. The trails behind the cabin are fun, but some info or maps would have been useful.
Overall there were many small things that combined to make this an uncomfortable stay. Fortunately, for the owner, most of them could be fixed fairly easily with a small investment. Neither the owner nor Evolve, has responded to our concerns. The per night rate we paid was nearly $300 plus a few hundred more in fees and it’s clear that this was not good value.

Hi Sophie, we always appreciate hearing from our guests but would like to clarify a few things mentioned in your review:
- The home has a high-efficiency AC unit, but not central air.
- The appliances are working perfectly, but we're sorry that you experienced issues with them.
- The washer functions well as long as it is a balanced load.
- As evidenced in our other many reviews, we take pride in the cleanliness of this cabin. Our cleaning team does a meticulous job but we've passed your feedback along so that future guests do not share this experience.
- We apologize for the one towel that you found to be frayed and do appreciate you pointing it out. The rest of the linen is in great condition.
- The listing does not advertise wifi and we're sorry that your service provider had spotty service - this is our first complaint of this.
- We do include a map on our listing so that guests can see the approximate location of the home prior to booking, but we apologize that the road and the remote area caught you off-guard.
We appreciate your feedback so we can continue to improve and help this homeowner provide guests with the 5-star service they are known for.

We went to visit family in the area and this property was the perfect place to stay. It was quiet, very comfortable and had all that we needed. The large back porch provided a wonderful spot to sit and visit with the family.
If you're in need of getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this place is perfect! It's quiet, clean and VERY relaxing. I will definitely be staying here again.
Mike was awesome communicating with us, he made sure we had everything we needed and that we had instructions for whatever was in the house. He also had firewood cut up for us, so we could have a bonfire. Everything was clean. It was also very private which we enjoyed very much. It was a great experience!
We really enjoyed our stay. Mike was very friendly & easy to work with. The cabin was good location for us & had everything we needed! Would definitely return.
