The house was beautiful and the view was even better than the pictures. It was perfect for our group of 5 adults, 2 teens and 2 toddlers. We loved walking into town but also enjoyed time spent at the house. I've never stayed somewhere so well stocked. My family is already requesting we go back every year

This home was perfect for our family. Everything you could ever need for a beach vacation was provided. The kitchen was well equipped and the kitchen/dining area was spacious. The pool was very relaxing and the rear of the house had a nice view of the ocean. The house was conveniently located near restaurants and shops which was very nice. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

We celebrated our 60th Anniversary with 14 family and this place was perfect for the occasion. Right on the ocean with porch or balcony on every floor. Kitchen table was large enough for our entire group. Chef from town came and prepared a wonderful Redfish dinner with appetizers for us in the well stocked kitchen, The pier is just a short walk from the property. Everyone loved the putting green by the pool.

Elegant, high end and spotless (perhaps too much so for our rambunctious preschoolers. I was always worried they’d spill something on the very white sofa). But the view was exceptional, the pool perfect for us and every possible amenity was anticipated. Those gargantuan cargo ships passing by made us all drop our jaws in unison many times. Sure, it was pricey, but a welcome splurge for our family of 11

The house exceeded our expectations. We thoroughly enjoyed the month that we spent relaxing by the ocean. It’s the perfect location and an ideal place to get away to . Incredible location and ambiance!

This property was more than we’d anticipated! The pictures are beautiful but somehow it was more beautiful in person. The house situated our family perfectly, it was right in the water, close to the pier and shopping, and all around an incredible vacation for our family. Highly recommend!

We rent vacation houses twice a year for the past 27 years and this house was by far the best equipped house we have ever stayed at. It had everything from extra toiletries to blenders, to beach equipment to super plush outdoor cushions etc. There was nothing we needed. The house is also walkable to town for bars and restaurants. It’s amazing! We had a blast.

All-time best St. Simons beach house

We’ve rented at least 7 different beach houses in St. Simons over the years, and this one is hands-down our favorite. Newly renovated, gorgeously decorated, equipped with everything you could want, and perfect location on the water with views of Jekyll and a short walk from the pier village. The pool is so close to the ocean that you feel like you’re sitting on the beach. The kitchen is ideal for those who like to cook, with brand new, high-end appliances. It’s a dream beach house for any size group!

Perfection personified

Our group of 3 couples all agreed this property fulfilled every need you could have. We loved the large open main floor and 2 porches but the amazing kitchen is a bonus. The entire house is decorated with a beach theme with great colors. All 4 bedrooms are situated to allow complete privacy and have very comfortable beds. Can’t wait to return!

Gorgeous, well thought out and maintained location

My sisters and I really enjoyed our stay at the Mermaid House with its gorgeous 3-stories with a balcony on each floor overlooking the view of the sound where we saw sailboats and dolphins as well as the Jekyll Island Coast and the beautiful Sydney Lanier Bridge in the distance . We enjoyed the fact that it is within easy walking distance of shopping, restaurants, and the lighthouse museum. The owners thought of everything in the home. It is well maintained and has so many amenities throughout that we felt right at home!

Great getaway for our large family

This is our family’s second stay at the mermaid house; we absolutely love it! The property is exactly as pictured. It feels warm and authentic - like you’re staying at your best friend’s beach house instead of a generic rental property. The location can’t be beat! Not only is it oceanfront, it’s also just a couple of blocks from all the shops and restaurants at the village, the pier, lighthouse, and Neptune park. The mermaid house is perfect for our 3 generation family vacation. Plenty of space for everyone and a week’s worth of wholesome family fun!

Fiends Reunion

Three couples enjoyed a long weekend at the Mermaid House. Large, roomy home with great kitchen and plentiful bedrooms, baths and outdoor spaces. Beach access is very limited, but we just drove down the beach to other access points so no real hassle for our group. Elevator is a plus for getting our stuff in and out of our cars. Two refrigerators were helpful too.
