Casa de Colores is exactly that! Filled with vibrant colors throughout the house. Located on the north end of Half Moon it’s an easy walk to Yal Ku Lagoon and Half Moon Bay. This house features four bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms plus there is a half bath in the common area. All of the bedrooms are furnished with king beds except for the Orange room which features a double futon and queen bed. The connected casita has a separate kitchenette and a small sitting area in addition to the sleeping area. There is a king bed in the casita.

The well equipped kitchen is perfect for cooking or not! Enjoy sharing meals in the dining area but feel free to dine al fresco on the patio! Take a refreshing dip in the private pool or just relax under the palapa shade. Casa de Colores is located on a rocky beach, but superb snorkeling is just a short walk away at Half Moon Bay or Yal Ku Lagoon! Take the collectivo, or a bicycle to downtown Akumal, it’s inexpensive and fun! With wireless internet and SMART TV, you feel right at home!

Loved our stay. It had everything, great location and wonderful views.

I would highly recommend this place. Not a thing we could have wanted more and the beds were comfortable. Enjoyed watching the stars at night on the rooftop while swinging in the hamaca and a nice Tequila. Very relaxing.

Perfect family getaway

Everything is perfect here. The house is spectacular, the view of the ocean wonderful, you are well taken care of. Everyone has something to do if they want and how nice to have bathrooms with every bedroom. Location is wonderful, you can walk to the beach and the town if you wish. Best place I have rented with Homeaway/VRBO. Hope to go back.

Amazingly beautiful home

The whole process was very smooth. What I loved the most was that I was able to communicate with everyone and get a timely response. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Specially Gabby & Zulma they were very attentive to our needs. Can’t wait to go back again.

My 40th bday

Place looks just as it does online. Really nice house pool is great as well. Quick response from Shelley whenever questions asked. Husband and wife were super nice and helpful as well. Would stay again and recommend to others. Did not want to leave.

Awesome Vacation

The house is located in the town of Akumal which is between Tulum and Playa Del Carmen. It’s a great location for activities. Akumal is a nice little town that has some great local restaurants and a nice beach area. The house was clean and the house cleaners were friendly and did a great job. We had 12 people and everyone had a fantastic time. The host was easy to communicate with and gave us great ideas and clear instructions along with a packet of information before we arrived. Would stay here again and highly recommend.

Incredible week at Casa de Colores

Wow! What a fantastic week. Every day was filled with both adventure and relaxation. Having a comforting, quiet place like CDC to enjoy along with being close to so many entertainment options makes this a perfect location in the Yucatan. The local food was outstanding as were the beaches. The staff was incredible and everything worked perfectly during our stay at CDC. We would highly recommend this property. What a lovely place to spend a week!

Perfect vacation1

I have stayed at Casa de Colores before and it was wonderful then, and just as wonderful this time. The house is beautiful and the views are amazing. Every morning having coffee on the front porch and watching the sunrise is just the best. Our group of 6 adults had plenty of room, and each bedroom was relaxing and well appointed. I can't say enough about Gaby and Zulma, the housekeeper and groundskeeper...they are just the nicest people and so hard working. If we go back to Akumal, we will definitely be staying at this little piece of heaven!!

Amazing, tranquil vacation

This was our second stay at Casa de Colores for our annual girls trip. It was blissful both times! The sound of the waves on the shoreline is so peaceful and calming. The location is quiet and removed from everything but a nice walk or quick golf cart ride to the shops and restaurants. The house is beautiful, comfortable, and very well maintained. The staff Gaby and Zulma are so kind and helpful! The entire experience is always fabulous! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!

December is a Great Month in Akumal

The property is even more beautiful and well maintained than the pictures show online! Every question and concern were taken care of by the property management and the staff who care for CdC! I can't wait to go back. Perfect for families (like mine) or a group of adults who want to either kick back and relax by the pool or more adventurous travelers who want to snorkel and explore the ancient ruins. I don't even want to post this - as I'm afraid the word will get out but December was a fantastic month to visit. T-shirts and shorts during the day and light jacket at night!

We Loved Casa de Colores!

We Loved Casa De Colores. There were 4 in our group and we all had our own private suite! The house is very light and is beautifully appointed just like the photos. The lagoon 1/2 blk away, has fantastic snorkling and very protected. We found the house staff to be very helpful and the house was perfectly clean. It was the perfect place to escape our cold winter. There were several wonderful restaurants in Akumal and everyone was very happy with the variety. The house comes with a book detailing activities and places to see. Highly recommended

Casa de Colores was amazi...

Casa de Colores was amazing! It is bigger than what the pictures portray and it is extremely clean and excellently well kept. The people who clean and maintain it are very helpful and super nice. The house also has a telescope which was great to use in the upstairs terrace on a clear night. Also, the owners are very resourceful and helpful when processing payments and return of deposit. Also, they provided additional information of Akumal in general, which came very handy. I feel in love with the place and I without any doubts I would come again to this house.

Seems odd ... VRBO asked me rate my stay in my home!

But, since they asked ... we just returned from another wonderful week in Akumal at our home Casa de Colores. Of course, we are biased, but I do have to say the house just keeps getting better and better! I love that everyone can find a place to read or relax, that the kitchen is big enough for all 6 of us to cook together, that the wood-burning oven yields amazing roasted vegetables and pizzas, that the big iguanas come out every day to sun near the pool, that Gaby and Zulma keep the house in perfect condition, that Monica and Juan Antonio always make us feel special, and that our friends and family feel as at home in Casa as we do. -- S

Great property, highly recommend.

Such a wonderful property. Expertly maintained by local staff, Gaby and Zulma. They were so welcoming and we had a fantastic time. The house has four bedrooms in the main house and a fifth bedroom in the "casita," a smaller house on the other side of the lap pool. It's a little walk in to town, but we enjoyed the fact that it was farther away from the main tourist strip.You must have Zulma cook for you at least one night. The property manager, Monica, did a great job of meeting us when we arrived and providing recommendations on local activities and restaurants. We've rented many houses over the years and this one was definitely impressive. Excellent experience - highly recommend. For food we recommend the little lunch counter at Que Onda, La Lunita, and La Buena Vida. All very close to the house.

The Property and location are awesome, as well was the Prop Mgr Shelly & Monica and the Caretakers Zumi & Gaby who keep the house and property very clean ad tidy. We actually had another VRBO up North that was fraudulent and we were stuck without a place to stay...in the rain...in the middle of the night...Shelly was able to put it all together for us in less than an hour and saved our bacon to get into the rental 3 nights ahead of our reservation. In hindsight we were glad the other property fell out and we got to stay in Akumal the entire time, which is a great base in the middle of the Riviera. I'd give 6 Stars if they existed...

What a fabulous house!

Our large group which including 6 adults and 6 kids had an amazing stay over Easter weekend. The entire house is so perfectly thought out, we left wishing for nothing. It was spacious enough to accommodate everyone very comfortably without feeling overcrowded and the beds were heaven, a perfect balance of comfort and support. The kids spent their time swimming in the pool, exploring the tide pools right behind the house, playing a variety of games that came with the house or playing in the sand at the nearby beach. Although we made sure to choose a house with air conditioning, we found every room in the house is so well ventilated that air conditioning was completely unnecessary. You will not be diappointed in any way with this home!

Amazing view - Spacious modern and clean!

Beautiful, clean modern house with lots of room. The ocean breeze keeps the place cool and the bugs away. Amazing views of the ocean across the rocks with a sandy beach a short walk away. Also close to snorkeling in Yal-Ku which was great but get there early to beat the crowds! The house is near the end of the road which makes it pleasantly remote from the main beach and resorts at Akumal. It was great to have the pool on the leeward side of the house, especially for kids. Staff there every day to clean the house. The house is laid out well for a big group with kids, there is an upstairs living room the kids can retreat to. Good restaurants within walking distance. Very quiet neighborhood. Review from 13 year old: Favorite things - Rapunzel tower (casita), animals, iguanas, pool, roof deck with hammocks, shell collecting, hiding above bed on shelf.

Vacation at it’s finest

Casa de Colores was exactly what our friend group consisting of 7 middle aged adults in need of an escape from work and kids needed! While it took a little bit to locate the house, no fault of Shelly we settled in nicely. Working with Gavby to get all our needs for golf carts, Covid screening and any other requests made it feel quite special. The rooms are well laid out with enough space to spread out if wanted but also large enough to accommodate a sizable group. The pool is perfect with plenty of sunshine or shade for everyone. The VIEW! Waking up to that was a highlight! While it’s not a swimming area, we enjoyed nice walks out to the rocks to enjoy the waves crashing. Plenty of other beach access available. This home is colorful and clearly has been built to bring more joy to the world. We could have stayed much longer than 8 days as we were wanting for nothing. This well appointed casa will be on the top of the list if AKUMAL, Tulum or Cancun are on the destination plans!

Perfect multi-family getaway

We had a perfect two weeks at Casa de Colores. As a group of friends, 20-something children and partners we found the house perfectly set up for togetherness and separation, well equipped and beautifully maintained by Gaby and Zulma who clean, do maintenance and just insure all is well and functioning. It helps to know that they will be in for a few hours every morning except Sunday but they are lovely and incredibly unobtrusive. The beds are comfortable, bathrooms for each room are great and having the casita proved wonderful. The good sized pool was a godsend; We ended up using it a lot as it was really windy our whole stay and while we did do a bit of snorkeling in Halfmoon Bay, the ocean was often quite rough. Shelly was a fantastic communicator, responsive, helpful and generous. We could not have asked for more. We loved the location at the north end of the Bay, it’s an easy 25 minute walk or 7 minute bike ride to the village. Thank you Shelly for sharing your beautiful home. All in all it was a perfect two weeks that flew by too quickly.

Amazing!

Casa de Colores is hands down an excellent place to vacation! Akumal is a small village with several wonderful little restaurants preparing excellent food. We took a few day trips but would ave been perfectly happy hanging around the pool and enjoying the little village and all it has to offer. Casa de Colores is well known for its great location, at the end of the road in Akumal, very private, and for its funky eclectic decor. This house is perfect for large groups or families. I can't think of ANYTHING this house was missing and it even came with recipes for the owner's award winning guacamole! The large kitchen and living area are great for entertaining and family get togethers. Access to the Yal-Ku Lagoons is very easy, just down the road and into the cool clear water of Yal-Ku where you can snorkel with the fish all day long. This house is truly one-of-a-kind and lends itself very well to people just 'hanging out' together and having a great time! The caretakers, do an excellent job. They are very charming and will take excellent care of you. They are also available to prepare meals for an additional fee, which we highly recommend you try. They do a great job! Casa de Colores offers many amenities including gorgeous and unique swimming pool with plenty of seating and towels. There is an outdoor shower for rinsing off after snorkeling in the lagoon and rinsing your gear.

GORGEOUS house and view, but not quite for us...

The house is absolutely beautiful and so is the scenery! Four of us flew into Cancun airport, rented a vehicle, and stayed at this house for 9 nights. If you do not have a vehicle, you will likely need a golf cart and / or bicycle(s) since to walk to the stores and restaurants at the front of the community is a bit of a hike. The property is at the end of the community but its location provides an AMAZING view of the water! Although we enjoyed the beautiful house and property and exploring the area of Akumal etc., we will likely not stay here again unless the owner agrees to not have the house and grounds keeper (husband / wife team - Gabby and Zulma) in the house at 8:00 every morning. With only four of us, there was little mess except for emptying the trash cans which contained the toilet tissue that could not be flushed per instructions from the property owner. I would have gladly emptied the trash and could have done so in just a few minutes each day. My family would have been more comfortable with this, rather than having a stranger remove the trash that contained our soiled toilet paper. Also, the Staff linger for hours with little to do. They were usually at the house from 8:00 am until noon each day except Sunday. It seems that other guests liked having them but not our group. Each morning my mother in her night gown would watch the clock and rush to her bedroom when she heard the front door opening. I was sitting in the living room one morning and looked toward the dining room to find the house keeper watching me. All four of us staying in the house agreed that the Staff's presence felt like an invasion of our privacy and added a stress that should not have been experienced. If the house keeper must arrive to make the beds and empty the trash, a more reasonable hour for this would be 10 or 11:00 and from what I could see, everything needing to be done could have been taken care of in an hour. Once I paid for our stay, I learned that Staff would be on site from 8 to 12 each day and that tipping them at the end of the stay is expected - so much per person per day. Hopefully, the owner will decide to type this information into VRBO for those making a decision on where to stay. We went ahead and left the tip even though it was for a service that we did not need or want. Gabby and Zulma were nice people! I am also leaving a 5-star rating based solely on the fact that the house and property are GORGEOUS!

WONDERFUL PLACE!! Casa de colores was ideal for our group of eleven. Loved the house with bathrooms in each bedroom. The pool was perfect. The caretakers came daily to take care of the house and were amazing. The town of Akumal is super cute with great restaurants nearby. Would highly recommend the Chef Service and renting golf carts. We will be back.

Absolutely perfect

We stayed at Casa de Colores as a group of nine, age range from teens to seniors. The house and grounds are beautiful, and the information from Shelly is super helpful to plan your stay. Everyone had their own space and there was so much to do in the surrounding area, or just to stay at the house and relax!

Spectacular house!

Casa de colores was even better than we had anticipated. The view is gorgeous, the house spacious and comfortable. Gabby and Zulma are friendly and helpful and keep the house in great shape. We loved feeling the sea breeze blowing through the windows and relaxing by the pool. The nearby snorkeling was wonderful at Yal-Ku and only a 5 minute walk away. The people of Akumal were friendly and welcoming. My family and I plan to return in the years to come.

Stunning location

The space was perfect for our get-together of three couples with small kids. Being right on the ocean - hearing it all night, having the views throughout the house, etc - is simply extraordinary. The beach isn't a swimming beach but it was fun to explore the rocks and the sea life with our little kids. In general, the house is very comfortable for families and the staff is extraordinarily accommodating. We expected a little more interaction with the team but they are reserved and we had our space - that was just fine for us. We ended up hiring a different chef than the one that was recommended and had out-of-this-world meals at a very affordable price. We appreciated being able to bring in our own service provider. USA Transfers was a great option for roundtrip airport transportation ($199 USD for our group of 10 people). We loved that Shelly gave such detailed recommendations and in general felt the space very well equipped for the family-oriented experience we were seeking.
