About this property
Banyan Bungalow nestled in the jungle -- TA-154-746-2656-01
Treat yourself to a gorgeous natural setting with a magical banyan tree while still being close to amenities. Nestled in the jungle and surrounded by greenery, our comfortable bungalow offers a queen bed, small kitchen, private entry, large lanai, and fun outdoor shower. Fully renovated in 2023, it is located in a unique jungle setting minutes away from the famous Captain Cook trail, with breathtaking views leading to Kealakekua Bay. Note that a 17.5% additional State/County Tax is added to each booking. Now featuring a shared pool and hot tub.
The space This cozy bungalow features a small kitchen with a sink, microwave, and mini-fridge. Your stay includes complimentary coffee and tea in-room and in the shared kitchen. The Queen bed is new and super comfy. Cross through the bathroom and enter a beautiful, private outdoor shower! Relax in the hanging chair on the large lanai next to the amazing banyan tree and let nature inspire you, or have coffee or breakfast on the bistro table while you plan your day.
Guest access The entire bungalow, large lanai, and peaceful garden are yours! Your easy parking spot is just a few yards away. There is also a large shared outdoor kitchen you can use if you need an oven or are planning a large meal. You can also barbecue and enjoy another public outdoor shower/bathroom. There are also multiple public decks on the property where you can relax, watch stunning sunsets and get beautiful ocean views without going out of the property.
Now featuring a brand-new pool, freshly installed jacuzzi, and a spacious deck ready for you to unwind. Plus, a convenient poolside bathroom and shower—everything you need for a fun and relaxing getaway!
Other things to note Our beautiful property used to be a macadamia nut farm, and there are lots of those and other kinds of fruit trees on the property. Feel free to pick any fruit that is in season during your stay! Also, in traditional Hawaiian style, we ask that guests remove their shoes before entering the dwelling. The mineral-rich mud is hard to get out of rugs and furniture!
We pride ourselves on being prompt and always striving to please our guests. This is why we have earned top hosting/rating awards since we opened in 2022. The owners, Christophe and Bonnie, live on the property and are non-intrusive but happy to help if needed and available for any questions.

Communication was amazing from the beginning and our place was exactly as described. The highlights included being near to some amazing local restaurants, and using the snorkel gear that was provided to snorkel at Captain Cook after a great hike.
Very welcoming host. He gave a tour of the property and respond to requests and questions quickly. Layout of the bungalow was thoughtful and landscaping were beautifully designed. Great amenities and ambiance.
We absolutely loved staying at Manta Soul;-)Pictures and description are both accurate. There is nothing negative to report as all amenities were exactly what we needed to stay for a week in paradise. Thanks so much
Great place for couples. They thought of everything at this location from citronella candles to beach towels. Manager was very friendly and welcoming! We we're at the banyon, other rentals available. This was an absolute oasis. Beautiful sunset views.
This is the perfect place to stay for people not wanting to stay in the crowded condo areas of the island. There were multiple rentals on the property, but it still felt private. Bungalow was on the smaller side, but it was totally ok for us since we wanted to spend most of our time outside. Owner of property was super kind and gave us a short tour of the shared facilities (pool, hot tub and shared kitchen) when we arrived. This property is even better than the listing shows.
I love the whole nature scenery!! Very beautiful! It was cool to shower outdoor lol The only thing I recommend is to get a mirror next to the sign it was hard to make a left turn.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Good suggestion on the mirror except that we don’t own the lane we only have the right to use it. I’m curious since we aim to always get five stars. Is this why we only got four stars instead of five?
Beautiful property and wonderful host! Christophe and his crew are all so friendly and helpful. The banyon bungalow was just as described. A small cottage open to the sounds of nature. It was frogs all night long and birds in the morning. There are plenty of screens to keep bugs out. We loved the outdoor shower. The kitchen has a hot plate and microwave and a small selection of pots/pans so we were able to do some basic cooking. There is also a full outdoor kitchen on the property that you can use for more extensive cooking. The bed was comfy. We're a little older, so we appreciate a good bed!We really enjoyed the location. It's close to some of our favorite snorkeling beaches and not as far to Volcanoes National Park. Good coffee shops right up the road. It's much cooler up at this elevation, so we made sure to bring layers. And because humidity is high, the trick is to hang your things in the morning sun to dry. This was a wonderful little base from which to explore the island and return to every evening, or just relax and nap through the afternoon.. Thank you for a lovely stay!
Absolutely gorgeous property. I’m going to give a very honest review. We arrived late at night and our navigation system and the address provided on the booking took us to 2 different locations before we finally found Manta Soul.
The owner, Christophe was extremely responsive in helping us navigate the location in the dark, the accommodations were very quaint. romantic and comfortable. NO AC and shower is outdoor. Not an issue for us. Laundry facilities on site. Just ask. Bungalow is very well stocked and there is also a very well stocked common outdoor kitchen., hot tub fun. Location excellent. Hosts excellent, sunsets from the deck with fire pit priceless!!! Definitely recommend for the outdoor enthusiasts, listening to the frogs, wild goats, roosters, wild pigs was all part of the jungle experience which we really embraced. Not for everyone, but perfect for our experience. 5 Stars!!!
