The Stone House, Marigot Bay- Character, Comfort, Private Pool, Wonderful View
The Stone House is one of the original buildings in Marigot Bay, a site probably chosen for its fabulous Bay view & cooling easterly breeze. A recent renovation has created a relaxing & inspiring home with modern day comforts & artistic charm. The front gates open into a driveway with parking for 2/3 vehicles directly outside the house. On entrance you're greeted by an open-plan living room and kitchen area, a light and uplifting social space with vaulted ceiling & hardwood flooring. The kitchen has unique polished concrete tops with breakfast bar & stools, the sink looks out onto an ocean view making this a pleasurable area to create cocktails & feasts, a local cook is an optional extra, you'll see how the unusual local produce is cooked & experience a delicious home cooked creole meal. The favorite spot is usually the balcony, accessed through large sliding glass doors, you're instantly captured by the view which can be enjoyed from the lounge or dining areas situated on the balcony.
The 3 double bedrooms (King size, Queen size & Standard) all have bay views & louvered glass windows allowing you to control the welcome through breeze. All beds are hand crafted on the island and each bedroom has an individually designed en-suite bathroom.
The house is on two levels connected by a handmade wooden spiral staircase. The King size bedroom is on the upper level, it has AC, a ceiling fan & a large fitted wardrobe. Both the Queen size & Standard bedrooms are on the lower level divided by another lounge/recreational area, there is a small fridge & sink, allowing you to enjoy hot & cold beverages whilst relaxing downstairs. Double doors open onto an outside deck with table & chairs, it conveniently leads to the pool....great spot to enjoy your coffee/tea after a morning swim. The classic kidney shaped swimming pool has a salt water system, its 27’x 13’in size & ranges from 4’-7’depth. An incoming waterfall creates a relaxing sound whilst the infinity edge shelf ensures the beautiful bay is still in view. A Caribbean home just isn't complete without a BBQ, with a pool side seating area this provides another dining option, particularly enjoyable during sunset!
The house has both 220v & 110v electrical supply & ceiling fans are fitted in every room. Solar water heating & rain water collection tanks are one of the eco-friendly features.
Free Wi-Fi throughout, cable TV, a multi-regional DVD player & sound system with large speakers inside & small speakers outside on the balcony to ensure you can listen to your favorite music via your iPod. whilst enjoying a rum punch or local Piton beer & watching the boats, birds or night lights in the picturesque bay.

The Stone House is a quiet and private home in Marigot Bay. We enjoyed the wrap around porch, sitting by the pool and walking down to the harbor for people watching. As mentioned in other reviews, the host Sabina went above and beyond in making sure we had everything we needed. Her communication was very thorough, from sharing local events happening, assisting with a day sail and a real sense of pride with the Stone House and all it has to offer. We even got a little lost on a walk to the beach, she was nearby so decided to come pick us up much to our surprise. Highly recommend the Stone House, Sabina and the Marigot Bay area.
The Stone House is an exceptional property made even better because of the hostess, Sabina. She is thoughtful and kind with a wealth of knowledge about what to see and do. Our goal was to relax and unwind and we achieved that .The kitchen is very well stocked with essentials, the view is amazing, and the pool refreshing.Take your water shoes and snorkels down to Trou Rolland Beach. Cold Pitons, fish fry and good company await.
So many people have said: “We just loved our St. Lucia vacation” now we get it. We had a fantastic time at the Stone House overlooking Marigot Bay. Our hostess Sabina enriched our stay by providing us a list of so many fantastic things to do and see during our stay, it gave us the opportunity to plan our stay in advance and see everything we wanted to. Sabina is the consummate hostess! She gave us arrangements to have a private driver pick us up from the airport and deliver us up to the house. She met us at check in and gave us a through tour of the place so we were comfortable with everything from day one. The house itself is so warm and inviting, Sabina has poured her heart and very talented soul into the design in many of the rooms creating a unique and memorable stay. Book this house, you will never regret it! St. Lucia gets under your skin, once you understand the island and appreciate its beauty, it lures you to return; we’ve been home one day and miss it already! Thanks again Sabina!

It was a pleasure hosting you, so wonderful to meet you all, it's very reassuring when I rent to lovely people that enjoy the house, style, location and fall in love with this charming island. I'd be very happy to see you again, thank you also for being so helpful, respectful and relaxed, I would recommend you to any future hosts anytime. Hope to see you again in the future.
The Stone House was amazing, Sabina was awesome, She had everything ready when we arrived early because we drove on this trip. My family absolutely loved the house from the views of Marigot Bay from the balcony, the kitchen was perfect we cooked alot, the bedrooms were great, we all had a great time in the pool, plus we were able to wash our clothes before we left. I would definitely come back to The Stone House in Marigot Bay....Thank you so much Sabina....
This property was so great and Sabina was incredibly helpful and accommodating. This place had everything you would need. I would highly recommend anyone staying here if they were heading to the Marigot Bay area.
We had some interesting experiences during our time in Saint Lucia, but overall it was an experience we’ll never forget. We received great hospitality from Sabina and the property was beautiful.
I am so glad we made the choice to stay at the Stone House! The house was beautiful with amazing views. We had everything we needed and Sabina was great! Our family loved the pool and the secluded feeling the property had. We would definitely stay here again.
The Stone House & it's owner, Sabina, couldn't have been more perfect for our family of 4's week long holiday. Marigot Bay is simply stunning with a choice of restaurants & bars to try out - beware the rum punch at Doolittles though. Sabina's communication ahead & during our stay was outstanding & she was very accommodating with check-in/out times as well as helping us arrange a private water taxi with the fabulous Ean for my birthday. The photos of the house could never do justice to the amazing views or the joy of watching the humming birds from the balcony. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in this wonderful property& we hope to be able to return one day. We will miss St Lucia & its beautiful people very much.
We love straying at the Stone House.
Thank you Sabina for your friendship and making our stay feel like home.
Exploring the island, snorkeling in the cove down the road and relaxing at the pool twice a day it’s so refreshing.
Our favorite room is the porch, the view is amazing all day long.
The perfect property with an amazing view. Quiet, clean, comfortable with all the needed amenities.
Sabina is an amazing host and was easy to connect with and was extremely helpful. Always willing to help or provide suggestions.
We were very happy with our trip to St. Lucia and all that the Stone House had to offer. Thank you for a great trip!
We had a wonderful week in St Lucia. House was perfect for 3 couples. Great social space and great separate space. Pool is great! Sabina was an incredibly gracious host! Location is between everything and if you like to get away from the super touristy areas and explore a bit on your own rent a car (it’s not hard to drive on the other side) and go! Nothing but a great time! Highly recommend!!!
The Stone House is a beautiful and eclectic home in a perfect location overlooking Marigot Bay. It is close to all the activities in Marigot Bay and just a short drive from Castries and Rodney Bay. Because the views from the decks and pool were so amazing, we found it difficult to leave this wonderful home.
Sabina was very helpful and wonderful to work with. If our future travels bring us back to Saint Lucia, we would certainly stay here again. Thank you for allowing us to stay at The Stone House!

Thank you for you lovely review, it was a pleasure having you stay. I very much appreciate the house was left so clean & tidy, it was the most stress free changeover I've had for a while, big thank you. Hope to see you back here again!
Memorable! From the moment I booked The Stone House for my family, Sabina, has been by far the best host! If you are ever planning to stay in Marigot Bay, St. Lucia either with family, friends, couples, check her place out. Something you won’t regret! Until next time….. with love from all of us;)
We had an amazing stay at the Stone House. Sabina is wonderful to work with. We felt like we had a friend on the island. Anselm and Kim helped us out with an airport pickup when part of our family was delayed at the airport. Their support made vacation road bumps feel like hiccups. The house is amazing. The views are incredible. We made so many great memories on the deck, and enjoyed our daily visits from our bird friends. Most days you’ll see rainbows. The pool is great too. It’s a short walk down to the bay where there are fun restaurants with friendly locals. If you are looking for a place to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of St. Lucia, this is the place for you!!
The Stone House is a wonderful unique property overlooking marigot Bay . Our host Sabina was fantastic from beginning until end. The one challenge: it is up a steep winding road. We drove up and down many times, and walked up and down many times. It might be a challenge for people with limited mobility, or not up for the exercise in the heat.
We loved the pool, and spent hours on the deck.
The Stone House was everything and more than we could have wished for. The view across Marigot Bay is beautiful and a perfect spot to witness the sunset. The house is outstanding. It was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and well equipped with everything you need. The host Sabina was exceptionally kind and helpful and really went the extra mile to ensure our stay was enjoyed to the full. She dealt with all our questions promptly and her assistance with shopping and recommending trips etc was very much appreciated as we did not have a car. She is a lovely person. I thoroughly recommend this property.

WE LEFT EARLY (within 2 nights of our 7 night booking) due to ongoing safety, comfort, and maintenance issues. Initial orientation of the home created significant anxiety, particularly due to padlocked doors, barred windows, and a locked gate that made the family feel unsafe and trapped in the event of an emergency. Hot water was very limited due to solar, resulting in barely warm showers even with minimal use, and water use was restricted due to rainwater tanks. The refrigerator broke within the first 24 hours, causing all food to spoil, and reimbursement was not provided. Wildlife was a persistent problem, including birds entering the house and eating food, as well as a rat attempting to get inside. Mentioned this to the owner the response was “The birds love the bananas. I just put that screen up because previous guests did not like that birds were flying in the house.” Insect issues were severe, with ineffective mosquito nets, broken screens, and louvered windows that did not fully close, leading to bites and sleepless nights for the children. Mosquitos were on the pillow on the bed even though the mosquito net was closed. We also started to get bit while laying on the couch. Washer, no dryer. We put a few items out on the line and they never fully dried. The decks, views, and Marigot Bay were beautiful and the host was helpful prior to arrival, the overall experience fell far below expectations.
Sabina and Stone House were perfect for our family of four. The accommodation is split over two levels giving us parents private time. Really well equipped with added extras like beach towels, snorkelling equipment and a local phone. Drinks by the pool and a bbq were perfect family time. The waterfront is 8 mins down hill and 10 minutes back. Mostly a gentle stroll although one steep bit at the first corner coming up(not too steep) and we had plenty of offers from locals to give us a lift, as would Sabina. If we ever come back to St Lucia we will definitely book with Sabina again, she was the perfect host.

Absolute pleasure having you & your lovely family stay, thank you for being perfect guests, I do hope we meet again.
We have stayed in the Marigot Bay area several times, but this was our first rental of the Stone House. It was the perfect size and layout for us. We had guests stay with us for part of our vacation and having a second living areas and bedrooms/ensuites on the lower level worked perfectly for everyone.
Sabina was an exceptional host, who became much more like a family friend during our 3 week stay. She cheerfully managed our various questions and requests.
The pool, with it waterfall and outdoor area, entertained us for hours on end. But the best amenity was the large covered porch, which allowed us to continue to enjoy the outdoors, even during the occasional rain shower.
We absolutely loved our stay and definitely plan to return!
Thanks Sabina for a wonderful vacation!

Wonderful to meet you, I'm extremely happy you enjoyed your time in St Lucia again & the Stone House enabled you to have fun & relax with guests.
Thank you for leaving the house so clean & tidy, having guests like you makes renting pleasurable. I look forward to meeting again.
We just returned back home to Seattle after spending an incredible Christmas at Sabina’s precious Stone House! Wish we could give 10 stars all around! Sabina went above and beyond with communicating, information, reservations, decorating the house with lights and festive ornaments. Feels like we made a dear friend in her by end of visit. We stayed 10 days and our teens really enjoyed the pool and bottom half of house was “all theirs” with a stocked fridge ect. The kitchen was well appointed and had supply of spices, dishes all you would need ect. We enjoyed using the smoker grill outside cooking chicken. We loved the view of Marigot bay every morning over coffee. Anslem was so friendly as he picked us up and took us back to airport. He made us one of the BEST meals we had there. So talented. Our favorite restaurants were the Pink plantation and Coal Pot on Christmas Eve. We cannot wait to come back and are so grateful for the beautiful memories thanks to Sabina.

Thank you for your very very complimentary comments, it was an absolute pleasure meeting you, you're a very special family, helpful, positive, generous, you connected with the local community..... you found eggs at Christmas....amazing! wish I could've spent more time with you all. I'm so happy you enjoyed your time at the Stone House, hope to meet again, always welcome!
We had a great time at the Stone House. Amazing views in the hills of St. Lucia/Marigot Bay. The character of the home inside and out is lovely. Pool was wonderful. Air conditioning in the bedrooms worked well. Surroundings are serene. The only thing I could recommend would be new pans in the kitchen.
We rented a car which was very convenient for our itinerary. Nearby restaurants that are worth checking out are Roots 2 (need to give one day's notice), The Villa for breakfast/dinner, Chateau Mygo was yummy and convenient with great piña coladas.
Things not to miss: St. Lucia Distillery is 5 minutes away and worth checking out. Anse Le Ray Falls close by and beautiful (@20 min away then very short, pretty hike). Sulphur Springs - most fascinating sight! (plan to arrive @3pm after cruise passengers are gone - mud baths are super cool!). Pigeon Island/beach and hike offers a breathtaking view at the top. Toraille Falls. Sugar Beach nestled between the Pitons. Piton Falls (unique in that the falls here are warm!) Anse Chasenet beach by far nicest and our favorite beach - beautiful sandy shore, beachside restaurant/bar (part of the resort) and turquoise watersr along with wonderful snorkeling - spotted a turtle and flounder :)
Would definitely return to St. Lucia and the Stone House! A magical vacation. Thank you Sabina for your hospitality!

So happy you had a wonderful stay, thank you for your very helpful review, great suggestions & recommendations. I'll check the pans, I renewed some last year but not all, may have left some old ones thought they could be used on the BBQ. Hope to see you again.
About the host
Hosted by Sabina Siddiqi
I’m a designer with creative/artistic flare, hence the artistic décor & unconventional finishes. Born in London, I'm of mixed heritage, St Lucia has been home for around 14 years, I now property manage my home and this rental property. I'm always on hand to help, advise & recommend, it's great to meet people & enthuse about the beauty of this island. I enjoy travelling, visiting architectural & natural wonders of the world. I love snorkelling, wild life, nature and the sun! the main reasons I've been enticed to stay......it's a beautiful island & has an irresistible charm; it’s hard to leave & always great to come back!
Why they chose this property
Location!!! The Stone House is surrounded by trees with diverse tropical wildlife by day & night. Antillean bull finches are daily visitors, Mongoose run across the lawn, Hermit crabs live in the garden, the nights are filled with delightful sounds of chirping tree frogs and clack clacks, it's a joy to spot fire flies, mosquitos can be a little bothersome. Marigot is a stunning location, it's also on the cost of the Caribbean sea, perfect to access both north & south of the island by road or by sea. Marigot Bay has a wonderful community, a mix of residents, visitors & locals, integrating local life with international people, an interesting social environment. I enjoy exploring, trekking through the rain forest, BBQ’s on beaches, a mud bath in the volcanic spring & adore waterfalls all of which the island has to offer.
What makes this property unique
I lived at the Stone House for 4 years it's bright, open, arty & fun. I love unusual, natural, character places, which generally tends to be older properties. The Stone house is one of the original buildings in the bay, built from stones found on the land in 1960's, I believe they followed a Canadian chalet design, it was 2 apartments, we've now converted it into one house adding an extra bedroom with bathroom. I love the fact it has a chimney & fireplace an unusual feature that gives it character, I've now installed a built-in gas oven, which signifies our changing times. It's wonderfully solid & simple, stone walls & wood floors, the glass sliding doors & louvered glass windows are great, seeing the sea, sky & trees, feeling the breeze, all this gives me a sense of space & well being. The pool is fab too, we've put an infinity edge shelf, so now it's so relaxing hanging on the edge watching the Bay.....perfect! Undeniably the best spot in the house is the veranda, sitting on a lounge chair gazing down into this stunning bay, watching the boats, birds, people playing on the beach, the magical night scene with lights & music drifting up from the bay...with a cold Piton Beer...really can't be beaten, it's captivating, relaxing, therapeutic.... indescribable!
