We had a wonderful time in this lovely home. The sunset views are amazing! Carissa was always available during our stay and was extremely helpful. We hope to return!
We spent a holiday weekend at the retro retreat and had a lovely time. The kitchen is well stocked, community spaces are very comfortable and the view is incredible. The hosts are kind and clear communicators. We had a special request that they easily accommodated. We would highly recommend this home for a getaway!
Our host Carissa, was absolutely wonderful, frequently checking with us via messaging/text to make sure we were not in need of anything and that we had no issues. She also assured us that she was a short drive away if we needed her. The home is also wonderful, very large and roomy, with comfortable furniture and beds and the house is loaded with all things imaginable. The house location is located in a very quiet hidden away location with absolute killer views of a closeup Bellingham Bay. We were there for just over a week and we and our 2 dogs enjoyed every day there. Thanks Carissa!

You both were a joy to get to know, even if just for a tiny bit of time during your stay. I loved that you both got to experience my uncle's home, and that you felt assured I was close by to help out with any need that might arise. Thank you for letting me know detailed thoughts on comfortable furniture (that's top of mind to me personally!), and now the kitchen has a fine rolling pin, that gift was so appreciated. It is a quiet place, I hope you both felt able to unwind, relax during your stay and I loved the "killer views" comment. Fills my heart with gratitude. Happy to hear your dogs enjoyed their stay as well. You are so welcome, please let others know about this special place! Carissa
In my opinion this is what a vacation rental should be! This spacious house has all of the original charm with upgrades for comfort and convenience. The view of the water is spectacular and the sunsets are stunning! If you take a break from the view you can play pool or the piano. There are other games and activities provided. They really thought of everything! We loved our stay.

About the host
Hosted by Carissa L Conour
Born in Seattle but raised and rooted in Bellingham, I’ve always loved the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Traveling and finding unique places to stay has inspired how I host—creating a comfortable, memorable space for guests to relax and connect with nature. This home, built by my uncle, holds a special place in my heart with its gorgeous water views and the peaceful sight of Chuckanut Island. It’s a joy to share it with others who appreciate the quiet magic of this area as much as I do.
Why they chose this property
Nestled just off scenic Chuckanut Drive, this home offers the perfect mix of coastal beauty and wooded tranquility. The area is one of Bellingham’s most loved—where forested trails meet sweeping island views and quiet roads wind through nature.
Just 8–10 minutes from Fairhaven, you’ll enjoy the best of both worlds: close to great dining and local charm, yet tucked away for total privacy. Step outside and you’re near the Interurban Trail for walks or bike rides, or stay home to watch the sunset over Chuckanut (Dot) Island.
This neighborhood is cherished for its peace and sense of retreat. Morning light filters through tall evergreens, eagles circle overhead, and evenings bring soft coastal breezes. Whether you’re here to recharge or explore, this home offers a true Pacific Northwest experience—quiet, scenic, and refreshingly close to nature.
What makes this property unique
What truly makes this property special is its rare combination of privacy, natural beauty, and timeless design. Tucked off scenic Chuckanut Drive, it offers peaceful seclusion yet sits just minutes from Fairhaven’s restaurants, trails, and waterfront charm. The home itself was built by my uncle in the 1970s with a classic open layout and expansive windows that frame stunning views of Chuckanut (Dot) Island. You can watch the changing light over the water, hear the sounds of nature all around, and feel completely removed from the rush of city life—while still being close to everything you need. It’s a one-of-a-kind retreat that embodies the best of the Pacific Northwest: calm, connected, and full of character.
