Gorgeous ocean-front restored 1910 Victorian beach house. Pet friendly!
The home: 169 Ocean Street Marshfield Mass. Perfect 180 degree ocean view from Brant Rock "High Road". Sunset picture was taken from across the street and is typical. House has remained largely unchanged since built over 100 years ago. Home has three bedrooms all with ocean views. Three can sleep in each of identical ocean side rooms - in queen bed and built in window twin size bed. Third bedroom has twin bed space for cot (supplied). Sun room with daybed can be used as a bedroom if desired. Large back yard and deck perfect for entertaining. Parking for six cars on the lot, which is crucial in this parking poor location. Electric fireplace, morning stair, dining room large enough for ten. Gas heat and gas stove. Cottage comes with wireless internet, cable tv, dishwasher, washer/dryer, bed linens, all included. Furnishings chosen to match house. Storage in closets, and within very large deacon's chair beds with pull open access doors. Please note that no refunds can be given after arrival. Please come visit the house ahead of time to ensure it meets your needs or have an agent come see the house on your behalf. Very happy to accommodate you.
The street: Ocean Street is famous for unaltered Victorian Era beach homes. Enjoy a gorgeous view of Massachusetts Bay from the expansive wrap around porch. Tidal pools and sandy beach across the street from home at low tide. Called the "high road" for its commanding views and protection from storms, this road dead ends a few blocks down and is used mostly by strollers and joggers.
The town: One minute walk to town beach, four restaurants and full service grocery in the Brant Rock "Esplanade". The Famous Fairview Inn is four doors to the south for fine dining and ocean views. Leave your car idle - walk everywhere.
The larger area: Many attractions nearby: Historic Plymouth, Marshfield Fair, Duxbury. One hour drive to Boston.
Non-summer months: We have a discounted daily, weekly and monthly rate for winter with a three day minimum stay. Home is completely winterized and above flood line. Dramatic views always and exciting but safe to watch winter storms. A much better option than hotels for Thanksgiving or Christmas visits. Support is available 24/7 from my family members who live in the area.

It was a great house with lots of character, everyone involved was great we had no issues at all, met many new friendly people and enjoyed lots of fresh seafood. There are many places to go and things to see, the seals were out every morning and are great company over cofffee... we had a great time and will always have fond memories of this time, we hopefully will make it out again, l would highly recommend a stay here to anyone looking for a perfect beach vacation!

It was great having you Mark. You were the perfect guest. Come back any time.
Beautiful location. Great communication, easy check in/out. The only things we wished were there that were not were:Oven mitts, a blender, and sharper knives for cooking.
Beautiful property and location. Walking distance to a few restaurants. Nice marsh preserve area to enjoy! Daily seals in the water to watch. Nice dead end rd will minimal cars. Great for daily walks with the dog.
Visit was for a celebration of life event and the house was in a perfect location. The front porch facing the ocean was icing on the cake. Will book again.
This was a perfect location and space for us while visiting the area and extended family!
Rental and communication was easy and efficient. The house was as described and was exactly what we needed for our combined working and exploring and family time. Definitely recommend and would stay again!
The house is wonderful. Large rooms with updated Kitchen. The view of the ocean is magnificent. Nothing beats sitting on the front porch in the morning with my coffee watching the sun rise and the seals swimming. In the afternoon the back porch has a great view of the Brant Rock jetty and the ocean. Very relaxing after swimming in the afternoon at the sandy beach. Then off to one of the many restaurants, within walking distance. Then stop at Rocky Roads for an ice cream cone or a sundae concoction on the way home.
Some extended family members and I stayed for the weekend, and there's not much more I can say other than it was perfect for us and had everything we needed. Would definitely go back.

Thanks for taking the time to post Cathleen. Appreciated.
This property was right on the ocean there was a market within walking distance several restaurants and a couple of quiet bars there was a family of seals that kept us entertained the whole weekend also!!!! We had a blast we have traveled all over and we like going to different spots this was actually the first time my wife said she would like to come back to the same spot
Thank you, Patrick for a wonderful stay in Marshfield. The house was easy to find, had a beautiful view and was well stocked with kitchen supplies and more than enough bathroom linens. Due to staying in February, the weather was not nice enough to walk around and explore; however, if you do stay in warmer weather, there are several places to visit. Enjoy!
We love the location and the charm of this cottage! The front porch is a great spot to seal, boat and people watch! Beautiful garden. One of the best things are the window seats in the front bedrooms. Can't wait to go back!

About the host
Hosted by Patrick Condon
Massachusetts native born and raised in Brockton. Used to come here constantly in summers. Loved it. Teaching in Vancouver BC now but plan to retire into this home eventually. In the meantime its my pleasure to make this home available to my family and a few select folks who may become family too!
Why they chose this property
This property was selected after years looking. Its above the flood line so has avoided damage for 100 years. Has a classic victorian summer cottage three sided veranda which sold me. It needed work and will require tinkering forever but thats its charm too. A huge number of people can gather to chat and dine either inside, or under the sky, or under the porch roof. Huge back yard makes parking a breeze and that ends up being more important than you think.
What makes this property unique
Dramatic ocean views from every bedroom. You really feel like you are in a boat from up there, the water is that close.
