About this property
Quiet paradise with beautiful trees - No pets or service animals allowed
Enjoy this spacious and serene space. Anything you're looking to do in St. Louis is about 20-30 minutes away from this home. Enjoy being away from the bustle but with the ability to get around easily with nearby highways. Starbucks, Target, Walmart and grocery stores are nearby, just 3 miles away. No pets or service animals allowed due to severe allergies.
Entrance. You can open the front door of the house by using the Yale Access keypad on the door. I will create a unique passcode for you. There are raccoons, deer and wildlife that will come into the garage.
Parking. Please park in the garage or the driveway. Please avoid parking in the street. No trailers or oversized vehicles can be parked in the driveway or street per the Homeowners Association bylaws.
No pets. There is a very strict no-pets, no-animals policy given pet dander allergies. Please do not bring or allow any pets into the home at any time, this includes service animals.
No smoking or vaping in the home. Please do not smoke anything inside the home.
Shoes. Please drop your shoes at the door. There is a basket and sign for a friendly reminder. This home has brand new carpet and new hardwood floors. Shoes bring in all kinds of bacteria and germs so thank you in advance for helping to keep it clean for you and me!
Trash. Please put trash in the blue bin in the garage. Trash pick up is on Monday morning (usually between 6:00 – 9:00 AM). If you are in the home on a Sunday night, please take the trash out. Please place the blue bin at the curb/end of the driveway on Sunday evenings. Per the Homeowners Association bylaws, the bin can only be outside on Sundays and Mondays. It must remain in the garage Tuesday through Saturday.
Thermostat. There is a Nest thermostat on the first floor near the staircase and another in the upstairs hallway. In the Summer, the thermostat is set between 68-74 degrees. If you want the home to be cooler, please let me know as a surcharge for the electric bill would need to be included in your total cost. In the Winter, the thermostat is also set between 68-74 degrees. If you want the home warmer, please let me know so we can add in a price for an additional gas bill.
Gas Fireplace. I'm happy to offer a cozy gas fireplace to enhance your stay! However, I kindly ask that you use it sparingly, as natural gas costs have risen significantly and I strive to keep my home eco-friendly and energy-efficient. Please keep the following in mind: 1) Limit usage to short periods for ambiance or a quick warm-up; 2) Turn off the fireplace when not in use or when leaving the room; 3) Do not leave the fireplace running overnight or unattended at any time; 4) If the fireplace is used excessively, an additional charge may be applied to cover the increased utility costs; 5) I appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping me manage energy costs and reduce our environmental impact. Thank you for being a thoughtful guest!
Windows. Please do not open the living room windows. They do not have screens on them. Please open the back door and use the screen door if you would like some fresh air on the first floor. If you open any other window in the house (in the main bedroom or upstairs, please open it slowly and with caution keeping your fingers on the plastic inserts on the sides of the window. The windows are aging and break easily.)
Solar panels. This home is powered by solar panels! If you have any electrical issues, please contact me. There are unique power boxes in and around this home that have locks on them. They are not safe to tinker with given the power of the panels.
Locked items. The basement, main floor bathroom closet, and three of the lower kitchen cabinets are locked. You will see notes on them. Thank you for understanding that these are for storage.
Kids. If you have children visit you, there are several throw blankets that can be used on the couch, upholstered chairs, and the kitchen bench. Please use those as a barrier for children before eating and drinking on the couch, chairs, and kitchen bench.
Hot water. Please be careful with how hot the water can get in the bathtubs and showers, especially if you’re here with children. The hot water tank is turned up high enough so you can enjoy a bath in the large first-floor tub, but this also means the water can get very hot.
Cameras. There are cameras on the outside of this home and in the garage. One is on the front doorbell, one facing the driveway, and one inside the garage to ensure the garage door remains closed.
CHECKOUT INSTRUCTIONS:
Before you leave, please remove all used bed linens and towels and place them on the floor in front of the laundry machine in the laundry room.
If there are dishes, please load the dishwasher and use a pod under the sink to run the load before you leave.
Please be sure the kitchen countertops have been wiped clean. They are made of natural quartz and are porous and can stain.
Please close all 8 window blinds in the living room. The sun comes in very strongly on the backside of the house. Please be careful with the strings to close the upper blinds as they are old and delicate.
Please be sure patio chair cushions are in the storage bin on the back patio and the bin lid is closed. There are some curious racoons who like to sleep on those cushions and dirty them up!
Make sure the front door is locked when you leave. Give it a light tug to ensure it is locked behind you.
If you have any questions at all before or during your stay, please don't hesitate to contact me. Have a wonderful stay! Enjoy the trees and wildlife that you may encounter!
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY- The maximum number of overnight guests is limited to SIX (6) persons unless screened ahead of time. Please be upfront about the number of guests in your reservation. I operate on a very transparent basis and desire the same from guests. Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation. Violation of this rule will result in immediate eviction without refund.
No loud music or parties. I highly respect my neighbors and they deserve a quiet environment, as do you.
Late/Emergency Cancellations -- Please be advised: the host will not be financially responsible and thus will not issue refunds for cancelations made 1) for non-refundable bookings 2) on or after the date specified in the cancelation policy. Last minute weather issues, family emergencies, travel plan changes are unfortunate, but a risk that the renter is liable for should they occur. Thus, we highly recommend travel insurance. There are no exceptions to the rule so be advised.
The homeowner is not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities.
By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises.
At the end of the TERM, guests leave house in same condition it was found. Tenant will be held liable for any damage or missing items. If damage is noted upon checkin please notify owner immediately.
