About this property
Cabin on the Creek, streamside Mazama retreat
Summary:
Cabin on the Creek is one of local legend Jack Wilson’s historic cabins at Wilson Ranch in Mazama. This studio cabin sits directly beside Early Winters Creek and features a well equipped galley kitchen, a studio style living area with a king bed, and a classic stone built gas fireplace anchoring the room. The cabin is steps from the Methow Trails year round system. Pets are welcome.
The Space:
Cabin on the Creek is a charming studio cabin located on the historic Freestone Inn Wilson Ranch property. Originally built in 1948 by ranch owner Jack Wilson, the cabin has been thoughtfully updated while retaining its historic character.
The single room serves as both bedroom and living space, with a king bed and a stone built gas fireplace. The front door opens into a galley kitchen with a two element electric cooktop, under counter refrigerator, microwave, sink, coffee maker, and a good selection of kitchen utensils and equipment. The bathroom is compact and includes a shower.
A separate door from the main room opens onto a small deck with a propane BBQ grill and a pair of Adirondack chairs, with a picnic table nearby. The cabin sits just a few short yards from Early Winters Creek.
The Methow Trails year round system is just steps away and is widely recognized as one of the finest Nordic ski trail networks in North America, with excellent mountain biking, trail running, and hiking in warmer months. North Cascade Heli Skiing also operates from Wilson Ranch, making this a convenient option for heli skiers. Guests should expect to see and hear helicopter takeoffs and landings during ski season.
Dogs are welcome. Cabin on the Creek is one of two adjacent studio cabins. Please see our listing for Creekside Bunkhouse if you are interested in booking both side by side. The cabin is set back approximately 200 feet from Highway 20 at the Early Winters Creek bridge and is partially screened from the road by mature trees and shrubs.
The Neighborhood:
