We've had many great VRBO stays, but this was truly one of the best. Tom and Kathy have thought of everything. They were helpful and welcoming without being intrusive. We can't say enough about the cottage, access to the water for kayaking, and the sunsets.
This beautiful, lakeside cottage was so cozy and clean. It had everything we needed, and the view was amazing. Tom and Kathy were so friendly and inviting. We will definitely be coming back!
Just what we were looking for - quiet and peaceful. The house was very clean and comfortable and Tom and Kathy were great hosts. We highly recommend and would not hesitate to book again.
We really enjoyed our stay at Tom and Kathy’s cottage. The cottage was very clean and had all the amenities for a summer holiday. The king size bed was very comfortable.
The location allowed for many different explorations of the islands on Lake Champlain .Its greatest asset was an extended peer with two chairs , allowing us to sit over the water and enjoy the incredible beauty and calm of sunsets.Tom and Kathy were excellent hosts. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Beautiful cottage, amazing view, friendly folks!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tom and Kathy's cottage, it was so relaxing being right on the lake and watching the sunset from the deck every night! My husband loved being able to fish right off the dock and I was thrilled to be able to swim every day we were there! Tom and Kathy made us feel right at home and made sure we had everything we needed, we will DEFINITELY be back!! Thank you for a great week!!

Great stay at Lake Champlain
We really enjoyed our stay at the Cottage. It was very comfortable, clean and well stocked.
Eating on the deck looking out at the water was fabulous along with views of the sunset from the dock. If we had any questions or needed something Tom was on it immediately. We would love to return to the Lake Champlain area again and would stay at this cottage. Thanks Tom, you were the perfect host!

Immaculate little cottage in Lake Champlain
My Husband and I stayed for three Nights in this cozy cottage in August. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we could possibly need including coffee tea and cream. Beautiful view of the Lake from the deck. The owners were friendly and helpful. If we visit lake Champlain area again we will definitely be back. Thank you!
A nicely appointed, casual cottage with all the amenities of home! Complete with two kayaks! Great location too (short drives to Montreal, Burlington, the Hero Islands, Stowe, etc. for nice daytrips. Lakefront location and some great biking was literally seconds from our driveway.
Our hosts, Kathy and Tom, were helpful (when needed for things like restaurant recommendations), responsive (with one minor cottage issue) and gracious (letting us have our space and quiet.)
Would we rent this lovely cottage from Kathy and Tom again? Yes!!
We had a boat with us to fish. We were unable to dock at this facility. The dock was not built to do so. There was a mooring but wading out in cold water up to your chest wasn’t feasible. Plus access to the dock was very steep. My 84 year old wife had trouble going down to the dock and returning. That said, the owners invited us to sit on their deck to enjoy what few sunsets there were due to cloudy and rainy weather. There are a couple wineries and brew pubs in the area. We were fortunate to to see the Jazzfest in Burlington. All in all, pleasant stay with great hosts.
Hosts Tom and Kathy made our stay in late June exceptionally pleasant. It was like arriving at a second home with all the hospitality and comfort. Our hosts had thought of everything. They provided every kitchen utensil imaginable, well-organized, and easy to find. The rooms were clean and cozy.
The small cabin, next door to the hosts' home, felt very private. We had easy access to the lake where we had several wonderful swims, some with amazing sunsets. Just a reminder that this northern locale has hungry mosquitoes, which is why the comfortable cabin was such a great retreat. We slept very well in the king-sized bed.
This location is just a few miles south of the Canadian border and a short drive from the New York state line. There is plenty to explore nearby - such as the Champlain Islands, and an easy scenic drive to Burlington.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Tom and Kathy who exemplify the best in hospitality.
My husband and I spent a wonderful week at the Sunset cottage. Kathy and Tom were the perfect hosts and made sure that all that we could want or need was available to us. Special touches, from a basket with coffee and maple syrup waiting for us when we arrived to an immaculately kept home with hotel quality towels and bedding did not go unnoticed. The cottage was well equipped for cooking, both inside and out, on the spotless grill. I spent mornings having my coffee on their lovely deck, while my husband enjoyed fishing off the dock. We also made use of the kayaks while we explored Lake Champlain. The location was perfect, allowing us the opportunity to drive to Burlington, as well as Quebec City and Montreal. This was the 6th property we have rented on the Lake and ,by far, our favorite. We home to return some day soon!
Extremely clean lakeside cabin. Well equipped kitchen and very thoughtful owner/ manager. Lovely welcome bag including VT maple syrup upon arrival. Breathtaking sunset views from the deck. While the listed description was accurate, it does not mention that aside from the owner’s house next door, there are several other cabins nearby. One of the other cabins, is less than 5 feet away, and for 2 of the days during our rental was occupied with the owner of that cabin pitching a tent essentially outside our bathroom / kitchen windows. Noise was not an issue, but!
My wife and I stayed at The Beautiful Lakefront Chalet for a week in June 2023. We were positively surprised, since the cottage seems a little bigger than the photos suggest. Well situated, near the bakery.
The kitchen is really fully equiped, you have everything you need and more... The BBQ is a good Weber, works very well (better than mine at home).
Cyclists: Alburgh gives you access to many rural roads very fun to ride. Isle Lamotte is nearby, North Hero is a beautiful scenic ride. From South Hero, which is about a 30/40 minutes drive, you have access to the cycle paths that bring you to Burlington. Very nice place to spend a day.
At the Chalet, Tom and Kathy have two new Kayaks at your disposable. They are stable ans easy to maneuver. In June the water temperature allows you to swim as long as you want.
Kathy and Tom are very helpful, should you require information or any help. We enjoyed chatting with them a few time.
Conclusion: This is a very recommandable place to stay. From the patio in front of the cottage you have a nice view of the lake to enjoy. Just sit back and relax...
PS: For Canadians, the Cottage is about three miles from the border!

We stayed at Tom and Kathy's cottage for a week in early June and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cottage feels quite spacious and is absolutely immaculate and very well-stocked with kitchen items (even including spices and condiments!) and toiletries. I was a little concerned about it being so close to a busy road, but it was amazingly quiet, especially on the lake-facing side. The bed was comfortable and cosy and the water pressure was excellent. Tom and Kathy were unobtrusive but available the couple of times we had questions--really the perfect hosts.
Alburgh is definitely the most working-class of the Champlain Islands towns, and the opportunities for walking/hiking and kayaking in the immediate neighborhood are more limited than elsewhere in the islands. But there's plenty to do within a very short driving distance, and we really enjoyed the trails at Mississquoi National Wildlife Refuge and the Knights Point and Alburgh Dunes state parks. Just driving around getting to know the area was also really fun. We had day trips to Burlington, St Albans (wonderful downtown), and Plattsburgh, NY and loved the combination of lake views and open farmland in all directions.
We also found that people were just incredibly friendly everywhere we went! Maybe it helped that the tourist season was just getting underway ;-). But we definitely sensed a real community vibe and had lots of interesting conversations with all kinds of people.
We had a wonderful week at the cottage. The cottage was up-to-date, well equipped, and perfectly located. Kathy and Tom were exceptional hosts who were available, but not intrusive. The location of the cottage allowed us to kayak from the dock every day as well as bike along the Vermont Bikeways that ran parallel to the lake. We spent most mornings on the dock with our coffee and good books and ended our days on the dock watching the wonderful sunsets. A great week!
I loved the cottage. It is immaculate, comfortable and very well equipped. Kathy has really paid attention to detail and both Kathy and Tom make you feel at home. I rented the cottage on my own for a 12 day stay. A friend joined me for one night and another friend stayed for 4 nights. I felt secure and comfy throughout my stay. Thank you both for your warm hospitality !!!
We stayed for eight nights and thoroughly enjoyed the cottage which has everything you need. The kitchen is well stocked with spices and all necessary kitchen items. We were welcomed with a lovely gift bag of Vermont coffee and Maple Syrup. We felt at home and the Bonus is the view of the sunset over Lake Champlain. Our hosts were very helpful. We definitely plan to return next year.
This little cottage was perfect! The accommodations were super clean and the hosts extremely accommodating. We would recommend this place to anyone without hesitation. We will definitely stay here again for future trips!

We moved to Alburgh in 2001 to live on the lake and be able to enjoy it year -round.
Why they chose this property
When we purchased, there was another smaller cottage on the property, but it needed a lot of work. We replaced it in 2012 with the new expanded cottage. it has only been available for use by family and friends until recently.
