A bit funky, but clean, comfortable and very quiet and peaceful. Surrounded by lovely greenery and centrally located. Many family pictures reflected the loving times they have enjoyed there, adding to the charm for us. This was our second stay and won't be our last.
This is the second summer we have used the Dodge Inverness Home for our vacation. It is such a relaxing home just minutes from so many amazing destinations in the area.
We loved staying here. It was a great set up for my mom, me and my two teenage kids. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen well stocked and it's a great location with easy access to beautiful Pt. Reyes. Peaceful and quiet too. Peggy was responsive and helpful. Highly recommend!
This is a wonderfully nostalgic cabin that fills you with sentimental longing and wistful affection for the past - even when it's not your past! It's so quirky, cozy, tidy and well cared for that you feel part of the family, and can imagine spending summers there... sailing at the yacht club down the street. Great location, dogs and teens love it. A true gem.
We planned a last minute escape to the coast during the school break. The house was just as described and had everything we could want or need for our stay. The outside space is wonderful and the location was perfect for exploring the area. We would definitely stay again!
This is a charming cabin that offered the perfect place to come back to after time spent exploring all that Point Reyes has to offer. The accommodations were incredibly welcoming and the listed pictures does not do the cabin or property justice. Our favorite part was the deck. We spent the majority of time at the cabin enjoying the outdoors and the beautiful yard.
Our family celebrated a birthday weekend here and enjoyed walking the hills of the neighborhood and charm of the rustic cabin. Make sure to plan some time to soak up the sunshine on the deck. Worked well with the dogs too.
Love the house and the little sleeping cabin. The yard was perfect for our dog to run freely all day. Tons of board games and very relaxing. It was also close to the little town, restaurants and beaches. We had not stayed In Inverness before but it is definitely a gem and the house was very cute. We will be back.
The goal of our trip to Inverness was to remember our brother in the place he loved most. This home was the perfect choice, with its warm wood interior, a rustic beauty that charmed us immediately.
We spent every evening at the house, and though there was only two of us, a larger group would be equally comfortable. With so many local products available nearby (oysters! cheese!bread!), each dinner was a feast laid out on the lovely dining table.
The outdoor deck space was wonderful in the morning with our coffee before we set out for the day. We hope to make this trip an annual tradition, and there's no other place we'd prefer to stay.
We really enjoyed getting away from the hustle and bustle and enjoying some down time. Thank goodness there was no TV. The internet service was reliable so we were able to read up on the community and hiking trails. The full kitchen was perfect for preparing meals, and the deck was great for enjoying coffee and scones in the morning. Really good bird watching. Perfect location!
We loved our stay here, it was quaint and in one of my favorite neighborhoods in Inverness. Our visit in August was such amazing weather with blackberry bushes and an apple tree on the property and the smell of jasmine. The house is clean and tidy and so cozy. Note that there is only one queen bed and the rest are twins if you are more than one couple, but it makes it feel like summer camp. Perfect landing spot in the most idyllic place.

About the host
Hosted by Peggy Dodge
I grew up spending weekends and summers in this house, retreating from the urban demands of San Francisco. I have had the chance to raise my own children in this timeless place. Inverness remains a magical place that I hope will always be a place where I can retreat and unwind.
Why they chose this property
This is a second generation family vacation cabin. With all the fabulous memories and the continued attraction to the area, we want to keep this treasure in the family.
What makes this property unique
Staying at this house has always meant a slower pace of life. There is deliberately no TV or internet at the house. There are book, board games and sports equipment. It is truly a place to take a time out from the fast pace and constant accessibility of our lives today. TV and internet are available nearby but the need to be intentional about accessing them keeps me honest about truly being on vacation. Tennis courts and Tomales Bay are within 2 blocks of the house. Foot paths in the area provide easy access to all of Inverness. Nearby hiking trails and fire roads offer even more choices for encounters with nature and spectacular vistas.
