Welcome to our charming 1940's cottage located in Newport’s historic Point District! This delightful home is perfect for both families and their furry friends. Pets stay free, with no additional pet fees, and all breeds and weights are welcome. Woof!
Step into the inviting living room, where a decorative non-working fireplace adds a touch of charm. Above it, you'll find a 42-inch flat-screen TV, perfect for cozy movie nights. Bedroom is equipped with its own TV and built-in DVD player, ensuring everyone has their own entertainment space. All TVs come with Roku live TV channels, and the high-speed internet and Wi-Fi are ready for all your favorite streaming services. For music lovers, there's a Bose iPod docking station for high-quality listening.
The large, fenced-in backyard is ideal for both family gatherings and pets to play. Enjoy a night out on the town while leaving your pets in a comfortable, home-like environment. We loved the location bc it’s quiet, out of downtown Newport but walkable for us. The parking pass is clutch; we biked or walked to the beaches, town and wildlife refuge. Parking in Newport is costly, even after Labor Day.

The cottage was perfect for 2 people and our large dog. The fenced in yard was great for the dog. The location was excellent being a right near the water and walkable to downtown. We would stay again!

We had a wonderful stay! The cottage was clean, cute, and in the perfect location. We could easily walk to everything — the parks, harbor, Thames Street, and more. The fenced-in property was especially perfect and convenient for our dog. Kathy was also great with communication and incredibly helpful, even when we somehow managed to lock ourselves out . We really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely stay here again!

Kathy was a pleasure to deal with from booking through the entire stay. She could not have been more accommodating, she called to let us know there was a problem with her freezer door but had purchased an awesome counter top ice maker so we had more ice than you could ever use during our stay. We will be back to Newport and will stay here again for sure. Everything is exactly as described and Kathy is a great host!

Cottage was cute in happy neighborhood. Tight parking for pickup truck on street. Great if you’re bringing in dogs. Smell inside cottage was mildewy (late August) though space was very clean. Made reservation in a rush for a wedding but not worth it for almost 900 for the night if you can’t even park in the driveway and early check in was not an option. Owner Kathy was very nice.

Thank you for your review…. I try and let guests in early and will if I can. However I have a housekeeper and it depends on her schedule all guests have until 11am and housekeeper may have others scheduled if possible I have no problem with an early arrival. Please read the reviews where I have been able. Newport, is the ocean state and there is dampness and can create different odors. I have 189 reviews and hold 9.6 rating. I am very proud of my cottage and being a pet friendly property. My cottage has no pet stains on any of the area rugs and all furniture is well kept and very clean. My cottage was built in 1940 and is filled with shabby chic charm 2 blocks to the water in 1 of the most desirable areas in Newport. Thank you to all past and future guests.

The place was spotless and charming! Very peaceful and lovely neighborhood but walkable to town. The best of both worlds. Hosts were very receptive and clear w all instructions and easy to contact at all times. Highly recommend this home for a stay in Newport!

Home had a wonderful fenced in yard and is perfect for pets! It is in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to the downtown and wharf areas with restaurants and shopping. The host is extremely responsive and helpful and provided thorough instructions on check-in/check-out which went very smoothly. Would recommend this home to pet owners especially!

A charming cottage that was a good fit for us and our two dogs and gave us a chance to explore the Newport area. Kathy was very responsive and attentive to questions and comments.A lovely area with an easy walk to the water with a beautiful view.Highly recommend Belle's at the shipyard a few blocks away. Good food, good view and you can sit on the pier with your dogs.

The Point Cottage provides an authentic, local experience and is ideally situated to provide walking access to all that Newport offers.

We had a lovely time staying here! The back yard is large and well fenced and was perfect for our dogs. The front yard is also fenced, which is an added bonus as we didn't have to worry about our dogs running out the front door. The property was clean and welcoming and the bed was very comfortable. We are already talking about returning here in the summer. The host was also great about communication. 5 stars all around!
