“This historic Victorian was once home to Admiral William Sowden Sims (past President of the Naval War College in Newport Rhode Island) which inspired the name of our accommodations, but now features King bed Studios with Kitchenette and fireplace including private baths, Cable TV, Air-Conditioning, Free Wi-Fi, and Free off-street parking.

It’s perfect for government / military per diem travel or for teleworkers who need a change of scenery.

We booked an overnight at Admiral Sim’s last minute as we wanted a beach getaway for 2 days. We couldn’t be happier about our stay. It was just what we were looking for! It is close to beaches; we had a very nice and spacious room, clean, quiet and the inn keepers were very nice!!! We will definitely book again!

Spent a long weekend here and will definitely do so again. Great location! Just under a mile into town so we walked the whole weekend. Super close to the cliff walk. Really spacious room, easy check in process (an early check in was accommodated which was greatly appreciated), the baked goods/coffee/fruit in the morning were really nice. Couldn’t recommend this place enough.

Exactly as advertised!

We were in Newport for a wedding, and Admiral Sims House was a perfect complement to our needs for the trip. Our hosts were extremely accommodating by letting us check in early, and the room was exactly as depicted on the VRBO website. While we did not stay long enough to utilize many of the amenities of the property, it is clear that the hosts have listened to feedback from guests and done their best to make your stay comfortable and easy. It was very nice to start our morning with in-room coffee, and then to sit in the gazebo outside and enjoy a snack before leaving. We plan to be back!

Perfect Location, 5 Star Room!

The Admiral Sims House is the perfect place to stay and relax in Newport! The amenities are generous and the rooms are 5 Star level! The bathroom had everything you could need from full-size shampoo and conditioner to great body wash and makeup towels. The room was spacious with a fireplace and seating and had a well-stocked kitchenette! The room and bathroom are IMMACULATELY clean. The closet is big with plentiful velvety-flocked hangers. Staying here is a treat that should not be missed! We walked everywhere- even to and from Goat Island! Don't miss a chance to enjoy your vacation from the Admiral Sims House! In the lobby, there are beach towels and umbrellas as well as all of the guides and info you would need for a great vacay and sightseeing! Book this place, now!
