An absolute gem! Truly a slice of heaven. The property is beautiful and perfectly appointed and the hosts are so lovely and kind. You could not ask for more! Our family had a wonderful stay, many thanks to Nancy and her husband, who felt like old friends by the time we left. This home and the gorgeous waterfront view are unforgettable.
We traveled to the area to go on a whale watching and puffin cruise for my birthday and really enjoyed staying at the cottage. Nancy is a wonderful host and made us feel welcomed. Certainly recommend booking this rental if in the area.

Thank you Anna. We enjoyed you family’s stay with us and hope to see you again next season!
The place was so unique and absolutely breathtaking! The hosts were knowledgeable and so very friendly. They welcomed us with open arms! Would stay here again, and again and again! We will miss Maine!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The cottage was perfect for our family and the double staircase proved helpful with young teens. Excellent beach access and the property is within steps of a beautiful preserve with coastal trails! We stayed in for as many meals as we could just to take in the gorgeous views. Our gracious hosts went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcomed as we celebrated our 14 yr olds' birthday. We truly hope to return again…and stay longer.
Exceptional setting, accommodations and gracious and friendly hosts. I’ve been coming to the Boothbay region for many years and this is the first time staying on Barter’s Island and I could not imagine a better location and overall experience, made even more memorable by the absolute friendliness and kindness of the hosts. The setting is superb. Incredibly peaceful. The cottage is tastefully decorated- if there was anything we needed, Nancy and Dix (the hosts) were right there and ready to accommodate. We felt more like long-term friends, and we left feeling like we can’t wait to come back again.

Thank you Greg for such a glowing review! We enjoyed your time with us and hope to see you again:)
I don’t know what’s more special about this place — the charming waterfront property or the wonderful couple who host! The house is gorgeous, clean and fit all of our needs. Nancy was exceptionally attentive and communicative before and during our stay. In Maine to celebrate a family birthday, the three bedroom two bathroom guesthouse fit our needs and then some. The rooms were spacious with water views throughout. While the pictures may portray a multi unit stay, the guest house is a standalone home over the garage with a cozy coastal interior throughout. The double stair case on either side to the driveway proved useful for early morning coffees when family members continued sleeping. There’s a beach exposed during both low and high tide and a firepit with chairs surrounding. Book dinners early enough in town to make it back for a gorgeous sunset from home.I am hesitant to explain how fabulous this property is for fear it will be booked through 2030…. But as the first guests to have stayed here I wanted to be the first review and say we will be back soon to this wonderful coastal retreat in Maine! Thank you to Nancy for such a wonderful weekend.
