About this property

Peaceful Cabin on the lake

Long Lake is one of the few lakes in Otter Tail County with no public access, which means quiet mornings, calm water, and a lake that feels like yours. Our cabin sits above the shore with a private dock and canoe ready for guest use. Sleeps 6 across 2 bedrooms. 15 minutes to Battle Lake, 25 to Fergus Falls. Open year round, from summer paddles to ice fishing season.
The space
A true lakes country cabin made for groups who want to slow down and be near the water.
Spend the day paddling the canoe or relaxing on the deck, and end the night grilling and gathering around the fire pit under genuinely dark skies.
Inside you'll find a full kitchen, Wi-Fi, and a comfortable living room with TV for rainy days and game nights.
SLEEPING (6 guests):
• Bedroom 1: Queen bed + full bed (bunk over the queen) + twin, perfect for families or groups of friends
• Bedroom 2: Queen bed
• Living room: Pull out couch for overflow One full bathroom, stocked with essentials.
THE LAKE:
Long Lake has no public boat landing, so traffic is limited to the handful of homeowners on the lake. The water stays calm and the fishing stays quiet.
The cabin sits up on a hill with great views, and it's a short walk down the hill to reach the dock
and canoe. The shoreline near the dock is natural and a bit marshy. This isn't a sandy swimming beach, but it's perfect for launching the canoe and enjoying the water. We keep it natural, and the lake stays peaceful because of it.
YEAR ROUND:
We host all four seasons. Winter brings ice fishing right out front and the kind of quiet you can't get in summer. The cabin is fully heated, and the fire pit works just as well in January.
THE AREA:
15 minutes to Battle Lake with restaurants, breweries, shops, and Glendalough State Park.
25 minutes to Fergus Falls for groceries and anything else you need. Guest access
Guests have the full cabin, deck, fire pit, dock, and canoe to themselves.
Other things to note
Getting here: The last stretch of the drive is a well maintained dirt and gravel road, standard for lakes country and fine for any vehicle. Just don't be surprised when the pavement ends.
It's part of why the lake stays this quiet.
Cooling: There's no central A/C. We have a window A/C unit plus fans, which keeps the cabin comfortable on warm nights, and lake breezes do a lot of the work up here.
Exterior security cameras face the driveway and exterior only.
