This 1970's cabin has so much character, with great energy and a functional, fun layout. One bedroom with full / twin bunk and a trundle on the lower level, full, clean bathroom with bathtub. Upstairs is media space with a thermarest pull out queen bed, a full bathroom and a primary bedroom with queen mattress. Plenty of storage and gear locker onsite. Trails for the MHNF are out the door. Enjoy drinking water voted Best in Oregon (it's sooo cold and delicious!). The Mountain's best BBQ is walking distance away, with amenities in the Village a quick drive away (3 minutes). Groceries, brew pubs, Golf, Frisbee Golf, Spa, trails, fishing, mushroom foraging... the list goes on! Moonshadow has been lovingly updated with fresh paint, linens, lightings, fixtures. If quirky and comfy is what you're looking for - you've found it! Our family and friends love it here, and welcomes yours to stay.

My only complaint would be the tiny space between the wall and toilet upstairs. And the sink didn’t drain very well. But we loved the place, it was peaceful. The blankets were amazing. The beds were so comfortable. Internet worked great.

Decent place to stay for a ski weekend
The place is just fine for a small family ski weekend or hiking at Mt. Hood. Check in is easy, but I took stars off for cleanliness, especially considering it felt like we had to do quite a few cleaning chores on the way out and I found a few things laying around and in the fridge, despite a cleaning fee being charged, etc. Overall, I would consider the place again
This house worked great for a quick midweek ski getaway. My teenaged son and I skied, while my husband worked from the house. About 20min to Timberline, 30min to Meadows. Well stocked kitchen (butter, cocoa, tea) and cozy beds. Highly recommend!
This was an absolute dream property to escape the 4th of July

I took my kids and other family here so we coulf go play in the snow. It was a little bit further than i thought it would be to reach snow but that wasnt a big deal. This cute cabin had almost everything. Board games, washer & dryer, there were even basic food items like hot chocolate and pancake mix. The kids had a great time running around while us ladies enjoyed the facial masks and bath bombs that were there for us to utilize. Great little get away.
The house is a cook 70s throwback. The kitchen is large and the two living spaces gave our family all the space we needed. The pellet stove was perfect to sit around after sledding all day. The two things I’d recommend is better lighting throughout downstairs and a shoe rack by the front door/
Loves staying in this cabin in the woods. The layout of this cabin allows for privacy but still can communicate with people in the home from anywhere you are. Kitchen was so perfect for our needs. We brought a crock pot for chili and cooked steaks and broccoli the other night. We made full use of the kitchen and it had everything we could possibly need. The pellet stove was such a nice addition, but we ran out of pellets after the first night. Would be nice to have a slight upgrade in the lighting. Playing board games and puzzles was hard in soft light. I would love to come again. Great for kids with the bunk beds too!!

Myself and 2 other moms do a get away every Nov. Before the holiday season kicks in. This cabin was perfect!! Super clean , delightful interior and was in a quiet neighborhood that made you feel miles away from others. We will definitely go back
Nice property and good central location to many outdoor activities. Timberline in the summer is great.

About the host
Hosted by Gabrielle Enfield
Gabrielle is a PacNW native who grew up skiing on Mt. Hood. Some of her fondest memories are times spent in her family's cabin in Government Camp. Now a Mom to two kiddos, she and her husband are thrilled to be able to provide the same mountain-memory-making opportunities with Moonshadow. In spare time, we like to travel, road trip, try new foods and cultures, and bring all our inspiration and experiences into our hospitality business, Hi Buddy.
Why they chose this property
Minutes away to year round recreation at Ski Bowl (our favorite - old skool vibes, less lines, varied terrain). Takes one hour to get there from our home in Portland, Ore. Surrounded by year-round residents who are friendly and keep a watchful eye, as well as tucked into the forest.
What makes this property unique
Vibe city! It's funky on purpose, and definitely wabi sabi. We aren't trying to be precious. We want it to be a place that you and your friends can come, get cozy, cook and eat great food, enjoy and immerse yourself in nature, and go away recharged. We're going to be getting a sauna soon - stay tuned!
