When we arrived to the place, it was so hot inside that clearly it had not been aired out in a while. The floor was filthy, window and blinds broken, sinks backed up, and electrical outlets that did not work. The worst part was the mouse that was by the barstool melted to the ground. We called in immediately and there was one guy who came two days later about the mouse but not a word from anyone else about the other issues. There were many other issues but advice, do not rent and spend the money. I have gone online to message the host and the link is not working.

A little rough around the edges
Don' t let the name of 5 Star Rental confuse you that the condition of the rental is 5 Star. So much broken and in disrepair. As we went over Super Bowl Sunday, the Theater room was extremely important. 5 of the six theater recliners are seriously broken. A really friendly maintenance guy came out to fix a broken BBA and dispose of dangerous broken outdoor chairs and said they have been aware for awhile and they were unrepairable. It shows in the on line pics if you look closely. They are way worse than the picture shows! VERY disappointed in them. It supposedly accommodates 16....but there are not enough dishes for everyone to eat at the same time. We had to go buy disposables so we could eat as a family. Pretty disappointed in many aspects of the supposed included amenities. Many broken and n disrepair. The place has GREAT potential. It WAS grand at one time and with better focus on the condition of the place, could be again. I have stayed in much better places for MUSCH less money. NOTE. I paid double the listed "average price per night" as I guess I booked a peak time. ??? My choice, but I feel I greatly overpaid for the condition of mattresses, couches, broken and burnt out lighting a ping pong table duct taped together, etc. I would love to stay here again, great floorplan, great location....IF...it was cleaned up and repairs done. The rating would be lower if the floor plan of the cabin was not taken into consideration. Also, I picked up an entire 33 gallon trash bag full of trash from the outside yards before my guests arrived. I took tons of pictures of broken this, broken that, trash all over the yards. I just decided to let it all go as to not put a damper on great memories created with my kids and grandkids. If they cleaned it up and fixed all the broken stuff, and there is a lot of broken stuff..... it could be 5 stars! OH...on a big positive, the areas with wall to wall carpeting seemed as if it was all pretty new. And the Jacuzzi was in good working order. Bring a cue ball for the pool table, it has a huge chip out of it making it pretty unreliable for play. ..Wish I could provide more positives, but my 3 star is a more than fair rating for the price.
This was our second time staying here, very clean and comfortable for our group. Jacuzzi was perfect. Such a beautiful home. Toilet seats could be updated.

Almost perfect
Beautiful home and great location. For the price we felt the furniture was pretty dated. We would definitely stay there again, but not necessarily at that price.
Overall pretty good experience. There were a couple things that need improvement. All the mattresses could definitely use an upgrade. They were very lumpy and you could feel the springs. All the furniture in the living areas have definitely seen better days as well. But overall the house itself was gorgeous and accommodating to fit all 13 of us. As far as property management I messaged them prior to the trip to ask about a few things but I never received a message back.

Paid to much
For the money we paid for four days and three nights, we paid too much. The mattresses were worn out beyond belief, we did not have a oven for a day and a half, and we also waited a day and a half for the cleaning people to come and clean what they missed the first time. The only saving grace was Brandon who fixed the media room and the oven. We would not ever stay here again.
The pictures and price made it seem like a luxury rental. The house was very large with 8-9 bedrooms and in a great area however, it was just “almost” nice. Check in was not difficult but still had to go to a rental office and get a key verses keyless code entry. There was a busted window on the garage door when we drove up so that made it seem neglected. The garage had several bags of trash in it from the previous people’s stay. The ping pong table didn’t have a working net. The theater room cable box didn’t work (wasn’t programmed). Several chairs in breakfast area and at dining room area had broken or loose chair arms. One bedroom door looked cracked around the door handle as if someone tried to break in. One shower handle in a down stairs was really loose (about to fall off). Overall we had a fun time but for the price, this place is just ok...almost nice.

Many of the amenities were not working, we called to have them fixed but still no result
Overall we had a great weekend! The house was huge and provided plenty of room for our group! We loved how close to the lake we were and allowed us to go for some great walks! The Trip did start a little rough because the property management company gave us the working keys but they worked with us to make sure we got in. We were also not able to use the hot tub because of a horrible smell it had which was a bummer for the fall nights. However, we definitely will be back for another great trip next year!
This house was perfect for our stay! The house obviously looks big but when you open the doors it's HUGE! There are 2 large entertaining areas on the main floor. The kitchen is tucked away in the far left corner and is on the "small" size compared to the house but still served it's purpose. 8 bedrooms/7 bathrooms was plenty to accommodate our group, each slightly different. The master was enormous and there's a big ensuite with a soaking tub and large shower.
The house includes everything you could ask for to entertain a group: hot tub, pool table, poker table, ping pong, BBQ, TV's, fireplace, Theater room, and multiple outdoor decks.
Located only 3 minutes from the grocery stores, the lake, and a short drive to Bear Mtn and numerous offroading trails.
There are minor areas which could use some TLC but in general, this house is amazing. Thanks for a great weekend!

Good for certain groups and events
The house is big. Lots of space for plenty of people. Conveniently located. Used it for Oktoberfest. Found it to be run down. Musty carpet needs to be changed. Toilet handles are broken. Not all TVs work.
Room locations were a plus. Only issue we had was four beds were without mattresses. Four people had to sleep on couches. No coffee pot. Entertainment room needs instruction book. We enjoyed the spa, theater and pool table and ping pong.
The house was exactly what the 16 of us needed in the way of comfort, location, kitchen, activities and room enough for all. Thank you for a perfect stay in Big Bear lake.

Church Retreat
We rented the property for our church group after a different local owner cancelled on our reservation at the last minute. The management agency needed time to clean the house from the previous weekends guest but they had it ready an hour early for us at 2pm. The house is huge! The best part was the movie theater room which we enjoyed both nights. Make sure to bring a blue ray disc as it looked much better vs a normal dvd. We are already planning to come again in the spring!

Beautiful property needs some upgrades for the $
Stayed here Thanksgiving with 16 people. Beautiful property that needs some upgrades for the price of $6000+ for 4 day stay. I told Kevin all the beds on the third level need immediate replacing. The twins and queen and bunk were something out of a cartoon. Giant springs protruding with no pad at all. My guests slept on the couches. Pillows need upgrade. Two or three washcloths and hand towels provided. Bucket under the kitchen sink to collect drips which we had to remember to empty. Several chairs in theater room were broken so I mentioned to make sure we weren't charged. Deer jacket hanger by front door-poor guy only had 1 antler cause if you hung more than one jacket he fell off the wall. The other antler was broken off. Beware! Also bring all your own toiletries and food. There is nothing. Shampoo and conditioner is a small travel size. Not enough for 16! We made it work and Kevin apologized but we would not spend that kind of money again.

Family Retreat 2016
We held our annual family retreat at this property (14 of us from 8-85) The property was wonderful, plenty big and comfortable enough for everyone to have their space. The theatre room was a big hit with the kids. They were happy to have a variety of things to do in the house and kept pretty busy. We even cancelled a couple days on the lake and ended up spending more time at the house. The house was great, I am very picky and read all reviews before renting, even then you don't always get was you expect. We were very pleased with the beautiful vacation home.. The rental agency was great to work with. They were always pleasant when I would call to ask a question or make a request (I can be a pain in the neck). We hired a personal chef for some of our meals...Mikie Spear - excellent....gave a little rest to me.

Perfect Weekend get-away
Our group loved this property.. We already had a huge expectation from the reviews and pictures, and we were not disappointed one bit. Very well done on this property maintenance which gives a five star experience for the customers! Special mention about the theater which stole our hearts.
