Thank you Rhiannon. I was delighted that after so many rearrangements due to Covid restrictions that you were eventually able to stay at our apartment for your holiday. Communication from you was brilliant throughout! I'm glad that you thought so highly of the property. It really is in an ideal location for enjoying all that the area has to offer. There are plenty of stunning beaches, bars and restaurants in the locality of course, but so much more, both activities and sightseeing. I hope you enjoyed the new dining and lounge furniture, and the update to the kitchen. I really hope to be able to host you and your family again in the future.

Not like we thought

Traveling with two young kids. Well we didnt like it as we thought. Too long distance to walk to the beach even with stroller. Swimming pool was fine. To long distant to walk to restaurants so we drove but only because it was too warm and with young kids. Apartment not clean up to standard and not very nice to cooked or kithchenwear not up to standard. Oven broken or didnt work properly. So we just went for restaurants which was fine. Couch very uncomfy. So easy to make this apartment more useful.

Naturally we are saddened that you were a little disappointed with some aspects of your holiday at our apartment. As can be seen from other reviews, many people have really enjoyed their stays and guests frequently return. Yes, it was very warm during your stay, as Spain and much of Europe recorded record temperatures, and such heat can be very tiring especially for young children. However, I’m sure that you all found the air-conditioning in the lounge and bedrooms a great help, and enjoyed relaxing by and cooling off in the pool. As detailed in the hospitality app, walking to the beach isn’t the only option in the summer months as a local bus service runs to several beaches and the nearest bus stop is very close. The apartment is thoroughly cleaned prior to each guests’ stay and there are regular inspections of the inventory and furnishings to make sure the apartment is up to standard. Our key-holders, Compass Property Services, have an office very close-by, and if you had drawn their attention to your difficulties in working the oven I know they would have happily helped you. We are genuinely disappointed to receive your review which is not consistent with our usual feedback.

Fantastic apartment in the Punta Prima area!

On arrival to the apartment we were shown around by a lovely lady from Compass (the key holders) who gave us a tour and the keys to the apartment. Throughout the booking stages, Liz (The owner) has been nothing but a delight to deal with, and myself and the other guests that stayed at the apartment are truly grateful! The listing of this apartment is spot on, and it is even better in person! The swimming pool is directly opposite the apartment, being shared by a small complex of apartments. The location is perfect for families or younger adults like myself, with supermarkets a short walk away, mcdonalds and a small strip of bars and restaurants. As well as this, it is really easy to get taxi's into busier surrounding areas, such as Cabo Roig, Playa Famenca, Torrevieja and La Mata. I 100% recommend this apartment, that has everything you need to be comfortable and more, with an added bonus of Air con and Wifi! My friends and I will definitely consider staying again if we were to return to this area in the future. Many thanks again Liz!

Pleased to hear that the apartment ticked all the boxes for you! WiFi for a small charge is new in the apartment this year, and it has been a hit with other guests as well. I'd be delighted to have you back to stay again in the future, should you be holidaying in the area again. Don't forget that it also makes a great out-of-season destination for a last minute short break as well! Best wishes, Liz

Wouldn’t stay again

The photos looked nice and description sounded good so I booked. Toilet seats hanging off, quilts very old and stained, fridge was so noisy is stopped us from sleeping. Bitten very badly by insects of some sort whilst asleep which resulted in seeing a doctor! Could have been something in the quilt or mattress according to him. No sun on the terrace at all and apartment very dark with bulbs not working. NO UK TV which I assumed it would have as it stated internet available so had to buy dvds! Owner responded quickly when booking but not very sympathetic when I asked about sorting tv out ☹️Wouldn’t stay again
Response from VrboOwner on 19 March 2020
I was surprised and disappointed to receive such a negative, potentially damaging review, which I feel does not reflect well on our apartment and is unjustified. However, being a conscientious owner who wishes to ensure that all our guests find our apartment to be a great base for a holiday, I have spoken with my key holders and looked into your claims. The handyman says that the fridge is not making any unusual or excessive noise, and that the toilet seats were not hanging off, but he has tightened a couple of screws to make sure they are extra-specially secure. The bed, quilts and bed linen have been inspected, and these were fine. I am somewhat baffled about your comments about the sun terrace as we always find it lovely, and especially enjoy having a lovely sunny breakfast on the veranda. Two days prior to your visit I requested a sparkle clean, and part of this is checking the lights. It may of course have been possible that a bulb had popped when you turned it on. As you know from the booking process, I tell all guests that if they have any issues with the apartment to contact my key holders asap so they can rectify any difficulties, but unfortunately you did not do this. I wonder if you didn’t open the external roller blinds fully to let the light into the apartment? The television is currently tuned to Spanish channels, as this is what is requested by the majority of guests, particularly those staying for longer periods. If I had known that UK television was going to be so crucial to your mother-in-law’s holiday, I would have been able to advise you of this in advance. However, I appreciate that a small number of guests may wish to have UK TV, so I have liaised with my key holders and am pleased to say that in future English channels (and some other languages) will be available as an on-demand service for which there will be a small charge.

Fourth Visit!!!

Yes - we've been back for a fourth time. We love this apartment and feels a bit like a home from home now!!! Took the TomTom this year and DIDN'T USE it - seem to know where everything is now and driving around like a local! It's a superb spot - secure behind a gate from main road - but not far from it so you don't have to carry shopping far! Lovely bit of sun in the evening on the balcony. Our son Freddie (6yrs) loves it here - and he goes to the pool every day - lovely for kids and has made friends there every visit. We have done lots of things in the area (by car) previously but this year we just chilled out and did little, which is what all 3 of us needed this year. We did go to Aquapolis though, very enjoyable. Mostly spent days by pool, on beach (La Zenia mainly as that's a favourite) and reading on patio Top tip - buy an underwater camera from the Chinese Markets (ony 6 euros) - they develop really nicely and are great in the pool We've left one of those silver screen protectors there that keep the car cool if parked in the sunshine (they really do work) The supermarket (Consum) just up the road is very reasonable - but we like a store about 5 minuntes drive in La Florida (Jumerca) - if you miss your Walker's Crisps etc etc I could live here!!!!
Response from VrboOwner on 19 March 2020
It was lovely to welcome you and your family back for another stay in our apartment at La Cinuelica Andy. I guess Freddie must be starting to think of the place as 'where we go on holiday' now! You're not the first guest to mention that in spite of there being so much to do in the area, there apartment itself is in a quiet area, which makes it an ideal place to chill out and relax with a good book and glass / bottle of wine. You'll just have to visit Cartegena next year instead ....... (good to see you've booked already!) Being within the gated inner circle does give a pleasant sense of security, which is so important when you've got little ones on holiday with you. But as you say, not so far that it makes carrying shopping and luggage a problem! Until next year then, Liz

Third Visit !!! Wonderful...

This is actually our THIRD time in this same apartment - it is so convenient placed near the gate to the (quiet) road so hire car is close - (for carrying shopping, beach equipment etc) - there is a locked gate to the complex and a gate to the apartment front garden (good for toddlers) - we have booked again for next year and it now feels like a little home from home!!! Each time we have been we have found somewhere new - have discovered at least two more nature parks close by - haven't been to Alicante town or Cartegena, or Tabarca Island by boat yet (next year), which just goes to show how much there is to do if you have a car and like exploring. I would recommend doing homework on the locality - especially in the mountains and searching for interesting and lovely off the beaten track villages. Our favourite beach is La Zenia (superb for toddlers) - 5 minutes by car -(bit rough for snorkelling - Punta Prima headland is amazing for that) a number of other nearby beaches are also different and worth exploring. Our 5 year old boy met many new friends in the complex pool this year - he learned to jump in from the side at the deep end!!! We took some DVDs but didn't even switch the TV on to be honest - too busy! There is a nice Consum supermarket up the road (1 minute drive up the hill) but if you like a local supermarket (with a real butcher) ask someone for directions to JUmerca at La Florida (2 or 3 minute drive) - "Emerald Isle" was a fun evening with terrible Karaoke which was very funny and entertaining - and there are things for the kids to do there in the evening too. Head down to Punta Prima but bear right by the Burger King and you will come across a street of "British" corner shop type places if you really crave a packet of Quavers or need a Mars Bar :) This year we discovered La Casa La Pedrera (20 minute drive away in the mountains near a lake) - have reviewed this in TriAdvisor (one or two negative reviews on there but we had a great time along with most reviewers)... http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g3604892-d4026566-Reviews-Casa_La_Pedrera-Orihuela_Alicante_Province_Valencian_Country.html Can't wait to go back next year - apartment is perfect for us (a couple with a toddler of 5 years) Great for relaxing on the front patio - quiet - you won't want to leave! We found Jet2 best for flights for the past 3 visits - but shop around for car hire (you will definately need one) Andy L
Response from VrboOwner on 19 March 2020
Sounds as though you've had yet another fantastic holiday Andy! Yes, there's so much to do and see in the area apart from the traditional 'Costa Sea, Sun and Sand' which of course are superb in the area. Authentic Spain is never far away, and I'm sure you'll love Alicante and Cartegena (amazing amphitheatre and castle) on your next trip. Glad you enjoyed the apartment as well. It is the little things like being inside the gated community, easy access to the swimming pool along with a comfortable apartment quality furnishings that make all the difference between having a good holiday and a brilliant holiday. Drinks on the patio, watching the sun go down, with whacked, happy child sleeping soundly is a good feeling! Delighted that I'm going to be welcoming you and your lovely family back next summer Andy. Don't forget that the area has so much to offer outside the summer season as well - ever thought of a spring or autumn break? Best wishes, Liz

Muy Bien!!!

We had a lovely time here. Freddie (3 years old) loved the pool and actually became quite confident enough to paddle without us holding him - and he also loved the various beaches nearby. There are quite a few but we tried 3 - favourite one being Capo Doig (5-10 minute drive). I went snorkeling there off the breakwater and saw a good variety of fish (they were fishing on the other side - but I didn't tell them!) The cooking facilities and extensive fridge meant I could quite happily engage in culinary activities. I cooked the best cottage pie ever in this apartment and can't seem to replicate it now I'm home. Must have been the water (or the locally bought mince). Supermarkets are bountiful - and if you crave British products there are quite a few that sell Walkers crisps and Robinsons juice (among millions of other brands if you really can't do without). Ask for directions to Jumerca supermarket because I found that excellent for fresh meat and fruit/veg. We also went to the Rio Safari Zoo on the road between Santa Pola and Elche (from Santa Pola - 2 miles and on the left) - £15 each and under 3 free. Excellent little zoo - animals looked very happy! Nice places to eat in there - reasonably priced too and if you go to the zoo take your swimming togs because there is a lovely pool with a water slide. 2 euro donation to charity for parking. There were lots of other things to do - visiting villages and towns inland was recommended but we were there just a week and simply wanted to relax on beach and by the pool. We certainly plan on returning to do some of these other things (like the water park when Freddie is a bit older) but will stay for 2 weeks next time. Driving is lovely there - laid back and I didn't have any road rage incidents for an entire week! Hiring car is cheap in Spain and this maximises the enjoyment of holiday. layout of apartment perfect for toddler. Outside areas secure and ideal for play. Highly recommended - a little home from home. Top Tips: If using a TomTom set "home" to the street called Calle Navel (by the green coned roundabout) and you can easily find your way back to the apartment from there. If flying out from 'Murcia' - don't set the TomTom to the town of "Murcia" as I did - lovely drive through a valley it was but was half an hour away from the airport!!! Set TomTom for San Javier airport instead!
Response from VrboOwner on 19 March 2020
Delighted Andy, but not surprised, that you had a such a wonderful holiday, and that the apartment lived up to your expectations and more. When I describe the apartment as being the home from home that it is, I wasn't expecting it to be home to the best cottage pie ever! You obviously had a really relaxing holiday, and exceptionally enjoyable week - plus Freddie has added his seal of approval to both our apartment and the area. Look forward to welcoming the two of you and Freddie back for many more years of exploring, splashing and generally having great holidays. There's always a beach or village you've never been to, or something new to do in the area - don't forget our apartment makes for a great holiday all year round. Liz

Muchas gracias, Liz Thank you for your review José, I'm glad you had a good time with your family. Yes, it is a quiet place to stay, so ideal for relaxing, but at the same time the shops and restaurants are only a few minutes walk. Like you, we have a car, but guests who do not find that there is public transport locally if they want to go further afield. We keep the kitchen equipped for most cooking tasks. Maybe you could send me an email with the additional kitchen tools you would have liked to have had in the kitchen. Yes, Spain in August can be hot! I hope you found the apartment's air conditioning useful, especially at night. Thank you, Liz

moderately positive

We have been there with 3 people in July 2019. It is very dated and renting a car is a must. There are no beaches within walking distance. Walk at least 2 kilometers. We also could not find supermarkets within a few kilometers. Public transportation is also not really close. Less than a kilometer before the nearest bus stop. I find this not really close especially with the heat in July. This is in contrast to what is stated in the description. Oven is still broken, as stated in an earlier review. But to be honest, I don't understand all those great reviews. We did not let our holiday ruin it, but the text in the description is incorrect.
Response from VrboOwner on 19 March 2020
I am very sorry to hear that the apartment wasn't what you were expecting. I have tried my best to ensure that the description on Homeaway is fully accurate, and I believe it to be so. The apartment is furnished in a Spanish style rather than the generic modern style that is found in some apartments as we feel this adds to the atmosphere of the apartment and that this enhances guests' holiday experience. The furniture in the HomeAway photographs is the furniture in the apartment. I feel that the apartment is conveniently situated for most things guests need on holiday. There are plenty of supermarkets close by including two large Consums on Calle Escorpiones and at the top of Calle Rosa, plus a Carrefour on the N332. In addition there is the discount supermarket Aldi on Calle Lago Banolas, although yes, this is probably a little far to walk in the height of summer heat. Measured on Google maps, the local bus service which runs in the summer months and includes the beaches at Punta Prima, Torrevieja and Playa Flamenca stops 450 metres from the apartment. The bus service which runs along the N332 serving the likes of Cartegena and Alicante has a stop at approximately 1km away. The oven is not broken. Following your review I have had an engineer to check it, and he states it is fully functional. The instruction booklet is in the kitchen drawer. Following feedback from previous guests, I had written on the front of the booklet the page number which shows how to turn it on. If you had let my key holder Compass know during your holiday that you were having difficulty operating the oven, they would have helped you. I am sorry that you felt the apartment didn't meet your needs, but I am glad that you had a good holiday nonetheless. Liz

Fab apartment in a quiet area

Having booked previous overseas holidays through a tour operator I was at first a bit dubious as to what we could expect but right from the booking stage Liz the owner was most helpful and easy to contact. After a 40 minute drive from Alicante airport we were met by the key holder who quickly showed us around the apartment and left us with an information pack. The apartment was lovely and clean and well looked after with aircon throughout (much needed as we visited in July!). Having 2 separate bathrooms both with powerful showers was a bonus and there was always plenty of hot water. The wifi worked well and kept my 2 teenagers happy! The kitchen, although small was very well equipped, although we didn't use it much as we ate out at the local bars and eateries that are within walking distance. There are several to choose from at Punta Marina (about a 15 minute walk away) such as The Captains Table, Wok Buffet and Pizzeria Piccolino, In the other direction, in the middle of a residential area about 5 minutes away is the Central Grill and a few other eateries. On our last evening we went to Fresco's, a pizza restaurant at La Zenia located on the main (N332) road which is a couple of island's up from Punta Marina. The food there was amazing! The shared pool is across from the apartment and can be accessed via a secure keycoded gate. It was clean and well maintained and was available to use between 9am and 9pm. Most mornings we had the pool to ourselves and there were always plenty of parasols available however there are no sun loungers provided at the pool area. The local Chinese supermarket on the way to Punta Marina sells absolutely everything such as sun loungers, clothing, bags, beach items, housewares,...….. so worth popping in there if you've forgotten anything. There's a choice of food supermarkets with a Consum at Punta Marina, a small supermarket near the International Business Centre or a little further on from that there's a large Carrefour. We drove to a few of the local beaches but our favourite one was Cala de Campoamor as it seemed to be a bit quieter than the others and roadside parking was free at Calle Concha Espina next to the beach. We could then stroll along the beach (about 15 minutes) to the next bay at Mil Palmeras where there's an excellent beach café called Vikingo. To sum up, this was a lovely apartment that ticked all our boxes and we would happily recommend to anyone. Thanks again to Liz for allowing us to stay.

Delighted, but not surprised, that you had an awesome holiday at the apartment. We really do try to make it a home-from-home, and although it is in a quiet area, it is so convenient for everything, from shops to restaurants, from beaches to attractions and activities. Look forward to welcoming you back before too long Lorraine!

I'm so pleased to hear you had a wonderful holiday at our apartment Robert, and that you celebrated your anniversary in style. Here's wishing you both many more happy years together! The terrace in the evening is a great place for sitting out in the sunshine and enjoying a glass of something nice, isn't it? It's possible to do this for much of the year, because the area is fortunate enough to enjoy great weather. We have tried our best to equip the apartment out nicely, and our keyholders do an excellent job in keeping the place looking spic and span, and providing an excellent service.Glad you enjoyed the pool as well. Hopefully we'll see you again before too long! Best wishes, Liz

Hello Claudia, I'm so pleased to hear you enjoyed your holiday at the apartment. Yes, La Cinuelica is a nice, clean, quiet neighbourhood, but the good thing is that a short walk away there are restaurants, supermarkets, bars etc, and the local beach at Punta Prima is also within walking distance. I look forward to welcoming you back to the apartment in the future Claudia. Best wishes, Liz

Très beau séjour. Très belle appartement dans le calme. À recommander. .

Très belle résidence. Très propre. Très calme et bien sécurisée. Les plages ne sont pas trop loin. Les commerces non plus. En plus soleil assuré. .

I am so glad that you enjoyed your holiday in our apartment Christelle. I have tried to make the apartment stand out from other apartments in the area by using quality furnishings. And yes, it is situated in a very convenient spot - not far from the beach, supermarkets and restaurants. I hope to welcome you back to the apartment in the future.

Lovely

Great short stay in a very clean & comfortable apartment. Great local.
Response from VrboOwner on 19 March 2020
Glad to hear that our apartment was the ideal place for a short break. The area has so much more to offer than a 'height of summer' annual holiday, and the warm sunny climate and convenient location makes our apartment an ideal base for quick breaks outside of the main season. Thank you for your comments about the apartment's cleanliness - I've passed these onto my key holders who really try hard to make sure that the place is spick and span for guests.

Another fantasic holiday!

Our second visit to this apartment and what another superb holiday we have just had! It was very hot out there, reaching 38 in the shade on a couple of days - there was a slight breeze the first few days which was lovely but we just wanted sun and we certainly got it. We had friends who were staying in San Pedro just a ten minute car ride away, so we visited them during the holiday and all went to the Waterpark, we also did the baked mud thing at San Pedro which was a first for us - cover yourself in mud and wait for it to dry, wash off and makes your skin so very soft afterwards. My husband said I looked like I'd got a wetsuit on! Our son had a sleep over at their apartment so we took the opportunity to dine at the Indian restaurant, Ghandi, which was lovely. At Punta Marina we had a couple of breakfasts at Dave's (!) for an amazing 2 euros each, took a few Subways to the beach with us, visited the Italian restaurant which was lovely, the Spanish restaurant on the roundabout, the nice Chinese before the bridge, the German restaurant over the bridge which serves just too much food, but the best has to be Nautilus down by the beach which serves the most fantastic food with fabulous views. We tended to vary our days by going to the beaches/Celtic Isle/Pool. We had a couple of evenings in Torrevieja (the market for me and the fair for the boys), we went to Playa Flamenca market on Saturday which is just fab but always makes us feel dizzy with the heat until we hit the Irish pub for a sit down! The facilities at your apartment are just right for the three of us, it is central, comfortable, clean and the main thing - cool with the air conditioning. In order for us to fully enjoy a holiday we need to be able to get out of the heat for several hours and also get a good nights sleep and your apartment hits the spot. We must try Murcia airport next time, I'm sure it's quite a bit closer. Thank you Liz for another fantastic holiday. We really enjoyed it. We hope we will be returning to your apartment again sometime soon. With kind regards, Anne

Absolutely delighted Anne, but not surprised that you had such a fantastic holiday at the apartment. There really is so much to do in the area, and every time they go back, they always seem to find something that they've not done previously. The air-con really does make a terrific difference in the height of summer, as do those lazy afternoon siestas! I'll pass on your comments about cleanliness to my super cleaners - they really take pride in their work, and it shows, doesn't it? Look forward to welcoming you and the family back before too long! Warm regards, Liz

Great holiday - J, P & J - N. Wales

We had a great holiday recently. The apartment was lovely, clean, well maintained and had everything we needed. Everything was as described on the website. The owner was extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We hired a car, but all the restaurants and supermarkets were within walking distant and we found some nice places to eat. There was also a really good restaurant with play area and entertainment approximately 15 minutes walk away which my 5 year old really enjoyed and we could sit back and relax! There is a Zoo approximately 40 minutes away by car which we would recommend.and there are leaflets in the apartment detailing attractions close by.

Glad you enjoyed your holiday Joanne.I really do try my best to make sure your holiday is everything you hope for - all part of the service. Website descriptions are really important in choosing a holiday, so I'm delighted (but not surprised!) you found every just as described. Yes, there are lots of things for families with youngsters to do in the area. The zoo is always a hit - go-karts next time perhaps?

Lovely Clean Apartment - relaxing

We had a lovely clean apartment, in a quiet area which suited us for relaxing and having a nice break away from work. We found some excellent value restaurants that we could walk to although we did have a car which meant we could travel further out of the local area, we were pleased we had a car to travel to and from the airport and to the local town.

Great place for a holiday!

We had a great last minute holiday here in September. The information in the listing description was spot on, and the pre-holiday service from the owner was exceptionally friendly, prompt and helpful. The apartment itself was amazing value for money. It was immaculately clean, really nicely furnished, and had everything we needed, including air-con and a mere 20 yard walk to the swimming pool. We hired a car, but could have easily got by with transfers and the local bus service. Local beach, supermarkets and wide choice of places to eat all easily walkable. Will definitely come back here again.

Originally from Marple, Stockport, I now live in North Wales with my husband Paul. Both of us are Welsh speaking, but an eventual retirement project is to master Spanish once and for all!

Why they chose this property

After a spate of rather wet UK summers, we decided to find a bolt hole that provided more dependable sunshine and our apartment at La Cinuelica ticked the boxes. i.e. Plenty of flights from the UK, then easy access to the apartment from both Murcia and Alicante airports. Close enough for an easy walk or short drive to the beaches, restaurants and amenities of the area, but in a quiet area. Also somewhere that would be easy to maintain, so that we could spend our holidays on holiday, not doing DIY!

What makes this property unique

We were fortunate enough to find great key holders first time round! Zoe and Pete look after everything for us, and we know that our guests will be in safe hands with them.
