The Midland House is a beautifully restored farmhouse built in 1900 that`s just minutes from downtown Lexington so you`ll be close to local shops, restaurants, Washington & Lee University, and VMI. Since it`s close to local wineries, breweries, and several wedding venues, Midland House is a must stay!

Whether you want a romantic weekend away, a trip to the mountains with your friends, or you just need to a little getaway, the Midland House is the perfect spot.

The farmhouse is bright and airy with spacious bedrooms, luxurious bedding, and stylish decor and the soaking tub in the upstairs bathroom invites you to take in the pastoral views. Enjoy a perfect country evening by the fire pit, relax on the expansive front porch, or enjoy a meal on the covered back patio.

There is ample parking at The Midland House which is good because you`ll definitely need your own transportation. Being that this is such a rural area, there is limited public transit and the area is not walkable.

We do not live on the property, but we have a local team who can provide assistance as necessary. We will not interfere with our guests` visit but can always be reached by message, email, or phone.

We are a 10 minute drive to downtown Lexington, a 10 minute drive to the VA Horse Center, and a 20 minute drive to Natural Bridge. Big Spring Farm is only a minute away!

We had a wonderful stay here for our family with 5 adults, one toddler and one infant. We enjoyed that every room had 2 bathroom robes for guests, a pack n play for the baby, plenty of coffee grounds for morning coffees, the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in on vacation. The home had been beautifully updated but kept it's lovely historic architecture. Our grandkids enjoyed the tree swing and seeing the cows next door. Fire pit had plenty of firewood. We had no issues with our accommodations the our entire trip and the check out process was so easy with little asked of guests to do before departure. Highly recommend this home if you would like to be in the country and about 8 minutes to town.

What an amazing house! Recently remodeled! Perfect for a large family or group - the rooms and bathrooms are massive. Kitchen is fully stocked if you want to cook. The A/C was outstanding! Occasional road noise from out front but it was infrequent and not a real issue. Perfect location for W&L and VMI parents. Highly recommend this property!
