About this property

The Chetco River Inn Cottage-PRIVATE River Frontage, 36 acres-Relax, Swim, Fish

Welcome to Paradise along southern Oregon's pristine Chetco River. Only 18 miles inland from the coast town of Brookings, a scenic half-hour drive along the river transports you to a beautiful and wilderness setting.

The Chetco River Inns' 36 very secluded acres on the banks of the Chetco River is surrounded by the Siskiyou National Forest. Our home is off grid and caters to both nature lovers and anglers, and makes for a great getaway. Whether renting the 5 bedroom Main Lodge or staying in the cozy ''Rockhouse' Cottage next to our vineyard, our homes are ideal for family gatherings, work retreats, couples and friends seeking outdoor activities and relaxation.

The Inn's thirty-six acres are off grid, private, and offer gentle walks, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, swimming, kayaking, rafting, paddleboarding, or simply floating down river.

World-class Salmon and Steelhead fishing can be enjoyed from directly in front of the Inn and excellent Cutthroat trout fishing is nearby in the River's many tributaries. If fishing is your passion, you simply can't beat our location on this upper streach of the Chetco River. If you wish, we're also happy to help by referring you to some of the best local professional guides who float fish long stretches of the river.

The Main Lodge offers 5 bedrooms, each with their own bath. 2 river view rooms have double beds. 3 forest view rooms have either king or twin beds. Look out over the spacious common room with its panoramic river views while cooking in the large kitchen; Or enjoy a movie in the den. Sit on the deck in one of the rocking chairs while enjoying the river view or firepit.

The estate also features a separate cottage called the 'Rockhouse' that sleeps 4 with a king (or 2 twins) upstairs and 2 twins downstairs. The 'Rockhouse' also includes a full kitchen and 1 1/2 baths with a private patio with BBQ grill. The 'Rockhouse' overlooks our new vineyard planted in Pinot Noir, is located near our gardens, and is privately situated near the river and away from the Main Lodge.

We are off grid, using solar and generator power. As with any rural home, our power may go out. We work hard to make the outage as short as possible but please take the time to enjoy being out of town.

The Best

We loved it at the Chetco Cottage! Brought our dirt bikes and went riding up into the hills for hours. The cottage is quaint and comfortable. We slept well and enjoyed the solitude and being unplugged from the world. Thank you, Jamie and Chrissy

Incredible cottage on the river

This cottage was amazing for our christmas stay. When we arrived they had a fire blazing keeping the whole place toasty. The views and drive in are awesome if you're into seclusion and frost blue rivers. The cottage itself was very nice and we loved the loft bedroom upstairs.

A Dream Come True

To say that this place is a dream is an understatement. We only had one night in Brookings, but I wish we could have stayed a week or more. The cabin has all amenities we really needed, and the setting is so serene and unbelievably beautiful. The drive in was just as amazing. We will most definitely be back!

Great getaway!!

Truly magical. We will absolutely be staying there again. One thing to keep in mind is you might not have cell service. I appreciated not having service during the stay, but it made things a bit complicated getting there. It would be helpful to have directions/instructions sent via the app ahead of time and able to screenshot for offline use.

Perfect for our large group!

The Chetco River Inn was absolutely perfect for our family reunion. We reserved both the main lodge and the cottage and it was fantastic! Ann and Tony (the caretakers) were wonderful to work with! The property is private and well situated on the Chetco River. We brought several inflatables to use on the river and it resulted in hours of fun! We highly recommend this property!!

Lovely, quiet space to rest and relax. The hosts and Chet are wonderful.

My husband and I along with our 2 dogs had a wonderful time. The Rock cottage is so cute and cozy with nice views of the mountains and the hosts garden. The river access was amazing lead to a beautiful swimming hole. The dogs tired themselves out playing and swimming. We had the swimming hole all to ourselves which was perfect. We will for sure vacation there again every summer.

Beautiful setting!

We had a wonderful stay. We enjoyed our peace and quiet down at the river. The fur baby loved it! Only negative is....Do not use google maps for directions from Brookings. Directed us to the opposite side of the river with no bridge to cross. 2 hour delay. Other than that it was wonderful!

A little slice of Heaven on Earth

Take every picture and review you see on this property and multiply it by 10 and you may come close to how amazing this rental is....from the wonderful caretakers Tony and Anne to the picture perfect setting we could not have asked for more. I hesitate to give such a glowing review because I'm afraid that if this secret gets out it will be booked next time we want to go. No worries, to make sure it isn't we booked next years stay before we left! Thanks you Marci for sharing your hidden paradise with us, it was the most relaxed we have ever been on vacation.

What a hidden gem!

There are not a lot of great rental options in this part of the world, for some reason, and I was really happy--before we ever laid eyes on the place--to have scored something that seemed pretty good. But wow, once we arrived! It was like paradise. Our cute stone cottage looked out over a garden and vineyard (with the river beyond that) that made our stay simply spectacular. The cottage is very comfortable and fun to live in, and for a small amount of space, it lived very big. It also had many nice touches, like the fireplace and a big airy master bedroom upstairs. But the showstopper, for sure, was the opportunity for outdoor dining on our own private patio in such a beautiful setting. I will always remember this stay.

Dream Come True

This was our first visit to Oregon and we were not disappointed. We did extensive research on the web to find the perfect remote getaway. We followed the directions given, driving slowly down the wooded remote road, taking in the beauty of the bridges, mountains, and massive trees. We arrive to see a beautiful river in front of us...so refreshing. All our cares fell off our shoulders. Our cottage was waiting for us. We flung open the door. All my husband could say was WOW! Look how huge. We spent the next couple of days just roaming the grounds and river taking tons of photos. This place is unforgettable. Thank you Chetco Inn, we truly loved it.

Remote

This is the place to stay if you want seclusion and off grid. It’s about a 30 minute drive from Brookings. No TV or WI-Fi which was fine with us, just know that up front. I missed not having a microwave and coffee pot. They do have a French press you can use.
