About this property
Mountain Top Cabin in Wolf Laurel, just North of Asheville
You will absolutely love our mountain top home located in a gated community with easy access to lots of things to do, places to eat, and the beauty of nature. Our completely renovated and beautifully decorated home is just north of Asheville and is a true mountain top retreat. There are four bedrooms and three full bathrooms. The master bedroom features a gel top king size bed, 40" flat screen tv, a door to the outside deck, incredible mountain views, and private master bathroom. There are three bedrooms with queen size beds. The living area includes a wood burning fireplace, 60" flatscreen tv, and a wall of windows for great mountain views. WiFi is available throughout the house. There is a large dining room, a well stocked kitchen, a full laundry room, and a recreation room with pool table and 10 game PAC-Man arcade game; yes this house has it all. You can wake up to beautiful sunrises or enjoy a glass of wine while watching the sun paint the sky at sunset - the views from inside and out are spectacular. The back of the house offers two levels of large deck space with a gas fire pit. Along side the house is a small creek that offers peaceful sounds. At 4600 feet of elevation, it is always cool during the summer.
If you enjoy hiking, there is a nature trail just below the house and about 2000 feet from the front door, you can walk to the Appalachian Trail. Big Bald Mountain is just down the road where you can hike to the top for great long range views. If you enjoy skiing, the Wolf Ridge Ski Resort is just 2.5 miles (10 min) away and offers skiing and snowboarding. The summer offers rafting, tubing, zip lining, and horseback riding at the nearby Wolf Laurel Stables. Wildlife is everywhere; with deer, turkey, and bear frequently seen right from the house.
Asheville and all that Asheville has to offer is just 35 minutes away. There is an incredible local music scene in Asheville, lots of micro-breweries and pubs, awesome restaurants, and the Biltmore Mansion. Also nearby is Little Switzerland, Hot Springs, and of course the famous Blue Ridge Parkway.
This house is located in the exclusive gated community of Wolf Laurel. The community is extremely safe, well maintained, and full of wildlife. While the community has some amenities, guests do not have access to the pool, tennis courts, or pickle ball courts; these are reserved for members.
We do have security cameras on the exterior of the property. This allows us to feel better about having a home so far away and helps with our insurance costs. We do not use them to monitor guests; just the opposite, they are to know all is well when no one is around.
This is our mountain top retreat and we would be delighted to share it with you.

The property was as described and the description ia accurate. The home was clean and comfortable with plenty of room for a family of 4 and our dog. It is a short drive to Asheville, where we spent most of our days. The neighborhood is very quiet and safe. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed playing on the pool table downstairs. We stayed Memorial day weekend and had a restful stay. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and eat a few meals. Thank you
We had a great stay. Everything was clean and well-organized. Beautiful area. Hosts provided us with plenty of information about the house and surrounding area. Will visit again!
My family and I had a wonderful stay at your house. This is our second time staying here and it just gets better and better! We will be back next year

Thank you so much for choosing our home as a repeat guest and we appreciate the ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Star review. We are constantly making improvements to the home and we truly appreciate you noticing. We look forward to your return.
We loved our stay! Beautiful mountain views, spacious living room, awesome fire pit, and trail behind the house were great. We had plenty of room at the dining table for Thanksgiving dinner and game nights. We would definitely choose to stay here again!
Beautiful mountain house nestled among beautiful trees, very clean and well equipped property. The location is awesome, great place to relax and unwind in the lap of nature…
We loved our stay! We could walk right up the road to get on the access trail to the AT which is exactly what we were looking for. The house was very clean and comfortable. We hope to come back again for more hiking!
If you want peace and quiet, etc. and enjoy nature, this is your place. Communication with the owner was a breeze and very responsive with your questions. Why go anywhere else?
My family and I stayed at this beautiful mountain home over the Memorial Day weekend. This location is truly magical. A hidden gem. Far enough away that you get to get away from it all and dive into nature, but close enough to be able to seek out the culture of Asheville and surrounding areas. The communication from the owners was great and informative and the house was comfy and well-appointed. We wanted to stay longer.
We enjoyed the house. We had 7 adults staying. We were all comfortable. The house was roomy, comfortable, clean and well stocked with every we could need. We loved the natural setting. We took advantage of the games, Roku TV and the nature trail below the house. The hosts were very responsive. The house is a good distance from Mars Hill and Asheville. We used the drive time to get in more visiting. Best if you arrive during the day. The house is hard to find at night. The only problem we had were outlets that didn’t work in one bedroom.
We had a great stay in Wolf Laurel. The house was so nice and well stocked. It had everything we needed. It is so peaceful there, but close enough to visit Asheville and The Biltmore. It was also a great place to hike. We liked the nature trail behind the house. The hosts Darrell and Marie were great and kept in touch to make sure the stay was perfect!
Very pleased with the whole experience. House was stocked, comfortable and practical for what our family wanted. Communication with the owner was great and their follow up with us to ensure we were doing well was much appreciated. Thank you for the hospitality!

Sergio,
Thank you so much for the five star review and for the great suggestion on adding a blender. We value your input and for choosing our home for your New Year's getaway.
We loved our time here! We had plenty of space and had everything we could have needed in the kitchen. The beds were great and there was plenty of light for old eyes. There were lots of books to read (and good ones too) and plenty of games to play. Communication with the host was great too! We will be back! Thank you!
A lovely house in a forest with hiking trails. Great household amenities with good media access. Very peaceful with sweet forest animals. This was our 3rd visit.

About the host
Hosted by Darrel Donatto
We are Darrel and Marie Donatto and we are excited to be able to share our vacation home with you. Marie and I live in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida where Marie works in the finance industry and I am a Fire Chief with 36 years of service. We both work hard and long hours and spend a lot of our off time serving at our church.
We are fortunate to be just five short miles from some of the most beautiful beaches and ocean water in the world. We find a tremendous amount of peace and restoration from the ocean.
