True mountain serenity

This property is a true mountain getaway. Serene, remote, incredible views. Pack your own basic needs and head up the mountain to nearly the top! Everything else you may need is already on site. Well stocked and clean plus hosts are prompt communicators. Feels very safe and welcoming. The layout is great for couples with a bathroom in each master on the main floor. LOTS of activities/games available on site plus beautiful hiking on the mountain trails. Head down the mountain for nearby dining and refreshments. We enjoyed our getaway to this beauty!

Great location for families looking to ski!

This property was great. Wonderful views and lots of amenities for kids! Perfect place to stay if you’re looking to ski at Hatley Pointe which is just a short 5 - 10 minutes down the mountain. Both the owner and property manager were extremely responsive. I would definitely recommend this place and stay here again!

Wonderful cabin with sunset views!

We loved the cabin and the western views were fantastic. George the owner was great and easy to communicate with. Dan the property manager was able to fix a fireplace problem on the spot. He is a great guy to work with. Many comforts and extremely well outfitted kitchen. Fire table on deck was great to use.

Prepare to enjoy this cabin

This cabin was amazing. The beds were super comfy. The kitchen is insanely well stocked with ample spices and utensils and pans. There were so many towels. The hot tub was perfect. We loved the ping pong table and foosball and pool table. And sitting on the deck watching deer made our mornings.

Great rental!

We had an amazing stay. I spent a week there- a couple days with friends and a few days with my husband and 2 dogs and it was perfect for both. Great hiking in the community; easy day trip to Asheville; best stocked kitchen I've ever had at a rental. No better way to spend a cool summer morning than on that porch...and the sunsets! We hope to be back.

Family getaway

This property has every amenity you can imagine. You can tell the owner cares about making you comfortable. I will reiterate it’s located at 4600ft & the driveway is very steep so you definitely want to plan for that. The listing gives a totally accurate description. We loved it!

New Years Escape

Went with family ranging from 9-72. All had fun. PROS: The house was beautiful with a great view, pool table, hot tub, and well-designed bedroom accomodations. Location was great, hiking trails nearby, ski lodge nearby, quiet and friendly neighborhood and house was big and pretty. Soaps, TP, detergent, soap and trash bags all supplied- very nice!CONS: property owner was slow to respond and rude. property managers were overworked due to holiday- towels were still drying (dryer highly inefficient), multiple dirty dishes in kitchen. Kitchen is poorly stocked if you cook- few pots and pans, terrible knives, no pot holders. Sofa is terrible-electric recliners but no way to plug in. Driveway is VERY VERY STEEP AND SMOOTH so when we got snow, we had to call a tow. Street above is narrow with no desginated pull-out for this property so its unclear where to park if avoiding the driveway. Tow service is lovely. Also, with steep driveway, no rail or stairs to get to street above on foot- hard for those with mobility issues.Overall great stay with room for improvement.

Amazing

Spent a few days at Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. The views were amazing! Very comfortable home with everything you would need and much more. We felt like we’re were staying in someone’s home vs. a rental. Dan the property manager was immediately available when we needed something. Would definitely come back again.

Amazing views and location

Great house, very spacious, views in every room. Tons of amenities/games to keep the young ones entertained. Access to lots of outdoor activities and right off the highway to get into Asheville or Johnson City. Please note I would only rent this place if you drive a 4x4 or at the very least AWD, especially during winter (summer not as much of an issue). Property manager is extremely attentive and is extremely nice if any issues arise. Definitely will come back in the future!

Amazing Sunsets

Beautiful location, stunning sunsets! Super fun amenities-ping pong, pool table, foosball, hot tub, fishing poles, Xbox, and plenty of games and puzzles. Very well stocked down to batteries and scotch tape! We had a gathering of 15 people and there was plenty of room for everyone to sit and mingle comfortably. Only complaint is steep driveway, but then it’s in the mountains!

Relaxing Getaway

Wow! This home is amazing. It was so cozy it felt like home and the views are amazing. We saw both great sunrises and sunsets. The home was so clean, comfortable, and had everything you needed and more. We enjoyed watching the deer from the hot tub. I was glad there was a spot for our dogs as there was a ton of snow everywhere else. We hope to back back again!

Excellent getaway

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the game tables and hot tub. It was very windy and rainy so we didn’t get to spend too much time outside. We did travel to Black Mountain and loved the little shops. We did get some snow one night which was awesome. The kitchen had everything we needed except a pizza cutter. Cons: the jets on one side of the hot tub weren’t working, we had issues with the refrigerator not cooling properly( not getting cold enough) Notes: the driveway is very steep and gets very slick when it’s raining. We ended up backing in and pulling out.

All the comforts of home

This property and management team was everything you would want in a vacation home experience. We were snowed in a few days and had every amenity to keep us warm, fed, and entertained. The gas fireplace was easy to use and provided us the perfect warmth and setting. The kitchen was stocked with all the cookware and small appliances, including a crockpot for making beef stew. Entertainment and relaxation were bountiful between shooting pool to watching the snowfall and sunsets from the hot tub. As many as ten deer at one time would show up every evening and some mornings, staring up to the balcony as they awaited their daily feeding. The property management team was good to communicate, especially to give us a heads up as to the road conditions. I can’t say enough good things about the experience.

Remote getaway during Covid

Stunning sunset and sunrise views in a remote location near Mars Hill. The advertising is a little misleading. The nearest stores are further than15 minutes. Asheville isn't close at all. However, we were there for a remote trip away during Covid-19. This place couldn't be any better for a 3 day getaway. We loved feeding the wild turkeys and deer while sitting in the hot tub. Loved the smart tbs and game room. Every amenity possible. Cooking pots, utensils, etc. Even robes for he got tub!You must bring your groceries and food. It's not easy or fast getting up and down the mountain. The owners left nothing to chance. I loved coming here for a few days. 5 stars!

Amazing View

We spent our Spring Break at this cabin. Two adults, two kids and our Tiny Yorkie. Cabin is exactly as shown. We go to the mountains every Spring Break for going on 12 years now and this was the best view and sunset we have seen. It is almost emotional to see such a beautiful sunset. There are herds of deer that come out every morning and evening to the back decks and you can throw corn to them. We counted 12-14 at a time. It is a gated community and we felt very safe. It is not near any grocery or restaurants, so go shopping before!! Mars Hill has a lot of restaurants and groceries. Asheville is about 30-40 minutes away. The community where the cabin is and the cabin drive way are steep and some roads are rocked. We used 4x4 drive. The hot tube is huge and wonderful to watch the deer while soaking. Beds were great and towels were new. If you want a place to get away from everything and relax and have peace, this is it. Crystal Central Georgia 3/22/19 - 3/27/19

Gorgeous Views

Me, my wife, infant daughter, and in-laws stayed here for 4 nights in January. Was absolutely gorgeous property with all the amenities you could ask for. The kitchen was stocked with everything you need for cooking. Each bedroom has an attached bathroom making life much easier and convenient. The property is pet friendly so we brought our dog who had a great time. My only complaint, and this is more a personal preference issue, is that my wife and I did not care for the foam topper on the mattress on the king bed. Was just too firm for us. Other than that it was an absolutely great stay. Please do heed the warnings about needing a 4 wheel drive vehicle in the winter. The main road through the community was dry and clear, but once you get on to Lucas it was covered in snow and the driveway to the property is very steep. Our truck had no problem with it, but I can easily see a car or 2 wheel drive vehicle not making it. Especially if it turns to ice. If you don't have a 4 wheel drive vehicle you have to park on Lucas a good clip back from the driveway and it's a steep walk down the driveway for sure. In any case we enjoyed our stay and will definitely look into staying here again on our next trip to Asheville. And the sunsets are absolutely gorgeous looking out the balcony.

beautiful house

This was a great house for us. My daughter and her boyfriend and 2 dogs were able to stay downstairs and have a nice little suite to themselves. The door closes at the bottom of the stairs so they could had some privacy. The upstairs kitchen/living room looked bigger in the pictures, but still very spacious and more than enough room. This area is very large so echos- loud in upstairs bedrooms if you have an early riser. Nice that they put clean water and chemicals in hot tub between guests- found out it was true the hard way as one of us sat in steps and got bleach on his shorts! The view was amazing and it was great to sit out and watch the sun set- until the fog rolled in and there was no view for 2 days. We never saw any deer (but we had dogs with us), but we did have the amazing experience of an owl swooping down to a tree in front of us and watched and listened to him call to an owl below! Be forewarned that it is a steep and windy road all the way up (20 minutes), Lucas is a gravel road, and the driveway is VERY steep. We had no snow, but it was scary steep anyway. I could not back my van out the driveway- it would stall. There is no way to turn around, so each time I had to do a 10 point turn around (inch forward, inch back, inch forward , inch back). Then you have to fly up to get to the top. So I would recommend a shorter 4 wheel drive vehicle. My daughter's 4 wheel drive truck had no problem. We parked right at front door- easy to pack in and out. My daughter was downstairs so they brought their truck down to garage and were able to easily able to bring things in and out through the garage. The kitchen did have just about anything you need. There were plenty of toilet paper, paper towels, dish and hand soap etc. The only thing we missed was teaspoon sized spoons- not a big deal though, as there were plenty of other spoons. Very quiet! We all slept with doors and windows open. The only sound was the hum of the hot tub going on and off occasionally. Tried to order food from the club. Found out the menu at the house was outdated and it would be an hour and half wait. Got food from pizza place at BP station- don't go there! We had a great visit and would definitely go back!
