Great location, beautiful setting with gorgeous lake view. We were fortunate to have outstanding weather. The sunsets over the lake were nothing short of spectacular. A gift!
Bring everything-literally barely enough of everything. This is an ok place with enough but you have to bring everything down to salt and pepper and ice. Only real positive was it was available and convenient to my dads.

Hi Kris;
Thank you for your review of my Grindstone property. I'm sorry to hear you didn't have more positive things to write about. My apologies for the simplistic features; we have made many changes in light of the pandemic.
The guidelines set forth for private home rentals in our county have been thoroughly followed. I have a storage room full of beautiful quilts and blankets, but I'm not willing to subject them to professional laundering every week. We've removed all "extra" things as a recommendation for safer renting. Ice and spices are first on the list of things that cannot be left behind, unless never opened. With a full grocery store a mile away, it is convenient for guests to pick up supplies they need. I believe you did ask me to leave salt and pepper but it slipped my mind; however, I would have gladly brought you any items needed with a simple text reminder. I hope you had a successful trip to Hayward to help your father move.
This cabin had just enough to get by but all the little things missing added up. We had no hot pads in the kitchen. When we received the house the paddle boat was full of water. Thankfully a neighbor helped us dump the water out and the kids had a blast on it. Trash had to be taken to a near by resort for disposal which was an inconvenience since we didn’t plan to leave the cabin. My husband and me slept in the downstairs bedroom and was woken up nightly by the water pipe system that is just blocked off by a curtain… a wall added there would be a huge upgrade. We made the best of it and overall enjoyed our stay. The basement was cozy (besides that bedroom) and provided extra living space. The steps leading to the dock was nice and the dock was in great condition.
The house was clean and renovated, positioned perfectly on the lake for stunning sunsets around the fire. Michelle was prompt and helpful with any questions we had, also offering Trails End launch and dock if we wanted. The only issue we had was docking at the property, it is very shallow and rocky. Their is public launches down the street to both Grindstone lake and Lac Courte Oreilles which was nice, to get on both lakes. Can’t wait to come back.
Great place to stay with family and kids! Big rooms and great beach area and patio will hopefully be back next year!

Perfect Place to Stay ~ Easy Access to Grindstone & Lac Courte Oreilles Lakes!
We were looking for a nice, quiet weekend getaway and this beautiful home delivered! This tastefully decorated home has been well maintained with many updates. We especially enjoyed the spacious lower level bathroom’s in-floor heating!!! The living room was very comfortable and we kept cozy warm with the wood burning fireplace. The kitchen is well-equipped with modern appliances and has everything you need for cooking. The dining area has a great view of the lake and since it faces west we had spectacular sunsets to enjoy as well!! There are three nice size bedrooms on the main floor with additional sleeping accommodations in the lower level. The entire house was spotless which is a must for me!
We enjoyed eating at Trails End Resort which is less than 5 minutes from the home. They have a beautiful lodge that includes a bar, restaurant and live entertainment on the weekends. We were made to feel very welcomed by the staff. We were there on New Year’s Eve and they had an all you can eat buffet which included prime rib, BBQ ribs, salmon, chicken, many side dishes and dessert – WOW! We especially enjoyed the ribs with Jeremy’s homemade BBQ sauce – DELICIOUS!!! The yummy BBQ sauce is also available to purchase by the jar which we did. Great place to stop by and spend an afternoon, happy hour, dinner or just to indulge in your favorite beverage!!! http://www.trails-end-resort.net/
Michele, thank you for sharing your beautiful lake home with us. We had a great time and are looking forward to next time!
