We enjoyed our stay. The host was friendly and responded quickly to communications. The location was convenient. We enjoyed the peacefulness of the country. It was convenient to have a full kitchen and a living room area to hang out. Loved the back porch also. The were only two downsides to the stay. Sliding barn doors are used for every room. Not all of them closed all the way and gave the privacy desired. The beds are firm. The upstairs bed has an innerspring mattress on a board. This caused some back issues. I realize everyone has their own preferences but since comfortable beds were mentioned in a few other reviews, I wanted to note this. It is the only reason I would not stay here again. It was a great place otherwise.
We had such a relaxing week! This place was so peaceful and quiet, and centrally located to all the attractions we wanted to visit. The beds were comfortable, the living area was spacious, and the kitchen was well equipped. The owner was very nice and quick to respond when we had questions. We have recommended this place to several people already and would love to go back some day.
The house was very remote and located in a beautiful field. Sunsets and sunrises were very visible. Our family loved the horses and enjoyed seeing them daily. The house was well described and very unique. We enjoyed seeing all the neat features. Many games, puzzles, and reading materials were available for our use. We really enjoyed our time at the house.
If you like staying in the country, unique features and horses as neighbors, this is the place for you. We loved the rough finishes and unique touches of the interior and the quiet and serene back yard off the patio.
The hostess was very helpful and communicative. The property was well maintained and the cabin itself was meticulously kept up with.Would definitely stay here again.

Everything was excellent, and Host is very responsive.
The barn is lovely and it provided us with the quiet and grounding experience we were looking for.
It was equipped with everything you could think of.
If we are ever back in the area, we will be staying here again!
We’re from North Carolina and visited the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter with our kids for Christmas. The barn was the perfect setting for our trip! The property is absolutely beautiful, with so many unique features—from the light fixtures to the natural trees used inside. We even spotted deer in the backyard while having our morning coffee. We highly recommend the barn to anyone visiting Kentucky and can’t wait to stay again when the Jerusalem exhibit opens. Kathy is a fantastic host—thank you so much for a wonderful stay!
Great in every* way. So very accommodating. Gorgeous views. Comfortable inside, adorable, stylish. EXCELLENT HOST! She was probably the best host we ve ever had. Cant say enough positive things. I recommend this home to anyone!
We just stayed there for 4 nights. Unfortunately it rained the whole time so we weren't able to enjoy the fire pit/deck. We checked in two hours late and the cabin still wasn't ready so that was a bit of bummer. The owner was very sweet and explained she had something pop up out of her control. House was clean and we all had room so we were able to spread out. All the furniture was in good working order. Beds were in the hard side so we ended up buying a foam topper and that helped a lot. Kitchen was well equipped with a coffee maker/Keurig. That was a lovely surprise! The host left us with eough soaps, paper towels, toilet paper and even some extras like k cups, creamer, popsicles for the kids and feminine hygiene items. Definitely appreciate that we had everything we needed for our stay and didn't have to buy consumables! Internet was slow but the TV worked fine. There were lots of family games to do together. The horses at the end of the property are sweet. The roads to the cabin are tight and curvy so just be careful when driving to/from but we felt it was worth it to be in a quiet neighborhood but still close to everything. The barn doors make the rooms a little awkward, especially the bedroom/bathroom downstairs. The bedroom door needs a latch. Finally, the stairs going upstairs are not built properly and feel odd walking up. We loved that all the room had their own temperature control.

Not what it seems to be
I have rented through VRBO for the past five years, and this is my first negative experience. It started with the check-in procedures, as I was given a two-digit code for the door with no mention of a gate that needed to be opened. Then we walked in to find a mouse still alive in a trap that needed to be taken care of. We noticed the numerous traps throughout the house. My family is very particular about cleanliness. We then found a dead mouse behind the oven. The level of dirt under the main stairs and the spider webs that were heading into the laundry room were disappointing. The shower in the Master Bath has rotten wood at the base and breaking off. The shower did work fine and had a fancy shower head unit, but it was dark in the shower and it was hard to tell the cleanliness of it.The upstairs was very nice and clean; and we were glad our children were upstairs. When issues were brought up to the owner, I was told that I do not know anything about a barn or farming, and mouse activity in the Spring is normal. The owner seems well intentioned; however, her communication style is less than gracious. I could have rebutted her arguments, as we have raised pigs for meat and chickens for eggs, so we are no strangers to the challenges of farming.I would disagree with the 10 for cleanliness of past ratings, and we were very disappointed overall. Maybe we are the only ones, but from our perspective, this property is not what it seemed to be.
The only recommendation I have to make the stay more convenient, think about stopping for groceries or other necessities prior to arrival. Shopping is very limited. Also, it didn’t appear to have any restaurants close by. It isn’t a deterrent to the place. I just wish we had known!
Check in was 4 pm. But told her we wldnt arrive till 6. We got thr at 5:50 and we werent able to get in till 6:45 because cabin wasnt ready. This was after driving 8 and a half hours. The doors and locks were questionable. Didnt seem safe. We were never told about lawn people showing up and disrupted our stay a bit and day of check out the bug guy came to spray outside.

Our Check-in time was 4pm, which is when we arrived. However, the owner was not ready for us to check-in. While she was friendly, we waited outside for 45 minutes in 90 degrees temperatures until we were aloud to enter.Once entering the house we were disappointed in cleanliness and overall structure. The pictures on Vbro are at angles to miss the many imperfections. Or family come from a long line of carpenters and electrical engineers and we were surprised that the house passed a building code. With visible nails on the steps and boards above the air conditioning unit appeared to be coming off the wall. We thought for sure they were going to fall off while we were watching TV. We took pictures and videos just in case they fell while we were staying there. The house has a lot of potential but personally not up to our standards. A/C worked well and great views of wildlife and beautiful horses! You may want to consider investing in a retractable awning over the deck in the back and blinds for French doors due to the extreme heat.Communication with owner was awesome and the house was better than staying at a hotel! Our visit to the Ark encounter and The Creation Museum was well worth the visit. Blessings to you and yours!
This is a lovely, rustic cabin in a beautiful country setting! My family and I enjoyed the peaceful surroundings while we visited several nearby places.
