The management of the property (Terra Alta Cottages) include four members of a third-generation of owners, plus 2 full time and 2 part time paid staff. Many of our family members have lived on the property for all or part of every summer for 60+ years. We take pride in the upkeep of the property, the cottages, the cleanliness and the offerings at the property. To us, Terra Alta is more than a place to stay, it is home. We want our guests to feel pleased that they chose our cottage, fully occupied, because we have so many activities to take part in and relaxed and able to enjoy a peaceful sit or nap on their screened in porch or on the private beach.
Why they chose this property
Along with 30+ other cottages, this 2 bedroom cottage is situated on 14 acres of partly wooded private property 1/2 mile from Schroon Lake’s Main Street. In addition to two tennis courts (+pickleball), a coin operated laundry room, basketball court, playgrounds and lifeguarded waterfront, the property provides kayaks and other human operated watercraft for our guests. We have optional daytime and evenings activities. You can choose to cook in our fully equipped kitchen or eat out at the plenty of restaurants in town.
What makes this property unique
Our cottages are more than a place to stay. We have private tennis courts, pickleball, basketball, volleyball, a laundry shack, private beach with lifeguard, kayaks, paddleboards, rowboats, plus all kinds of social activities (corn hole, poker, tie dye, talent show, kayak run, paddles down Schroon River, dances, etc).
