It’s a beautiful little apartment on the third floor of a gorgeous home. The neighborhood was quiet and quaint, and close to the ocean. There is also a delicious little breakfast spot a block away. The hosts were delightful. I’d love to stay again!

Blue Magnolia is a must visit!

This property is well maintained, easy walking distance to the beach, and there are great places nearby to eat. It’s an ideal location with a responsive host. My family of all ages loved it and so won’t you.

This place was beautiful, clean, and more spacious than it looked like in the pictures. A great blend of old house charm and modern updates. Guests should be aware that the apartment is on the third floor up a narrow staircase.

Last minute perfect connection

This home made a last minute get together perfect. Exceptionally clean and Mike very attentive and available for any questions or needs.Coffee set up a plus! Full size kitchen for gathering.Beds super comfortable.Bathroom great size. Location easy to get to beaches, restaurants.Neighborhood walking with beautiful coastal views. Be aware there are stairs but worth the climb to have plenty of windows and a tree house feel.

Lovely place to stay!

The hosts were courteous and congenial and I could not have asked for better! Mike was very quick to respond to any of my questions, and was there to help when I needed it. The place is much larger than I expected, and the kitchen is new and very nice. Appreciated that they put out laundry soap for my use. Location is very convenient to sightseeing at Castle Hill, Gloucester and Salem, with easy drives. This place was so peaceful after the traffic-headaches of Boston, and I was very appreciative of the beauty of the area. And there is lots to see and do nearby! A big "Thank you" to the hosts! It was a joy to stay here.

Originally from southern Virginia, I’ve lived in Massachusetts for more than half my life and love it here. I am a poet and musician, with a life-long interest in literature and more recently history. I like meeting travellers, hearing their stories, and providing a nice place for them to relax.

Why they chose this property

Magnolia is one the beautiful neighborhoods in Gloucester, with a full view of the Atlantic and a naturally air conditioned climate unique to Cape Ann, given the perpetual south breezes that sweep across the cool ocean water. The large grand houses here offer charm and history; walks through the woodland trails are nearly endless (many miles!), and the beaches both rocky and sandy are great for swimming or just watching the sunsets.

What makes this property unique

This is one of the largest apartments you’ll find in all of Gloucester. It has a well preserved 1930s charm, with all the modern amenities — AC, dishwasher, washer/dryer, normal kitchen with microwave, etc. — that you would have had in the 1930s. Plus there’s a secret, hidden closet I challenge you to discover!
