Overall the property was clean and as stated in the listing. We just needed a place to stay so we werent making a 2 hr trip multiple times over the weekend. The neighborhood seemed alittle sketchy just because of the vibe we got driving down the street seeing trash and liquor bottles laying all over.

Buffalo Getaway

Went to Buffalo with friends for a weekend retreat. This house is in a neighborhood of older homes, which was surprisingly quiet. The interior looked to be recently updated. The only complaint was minor….a lack of paper towels and extra toilet paper. We had a good stay.

The owner of the property is responsive and nice. However, we encountered several issues that led to us departing earlier than planned. There were two active wasp nests over the front porch. When we went to check in, wasps were flying around our heads. The owner asked a neighbor to come take care of it. Not sure if he sprayed them or not. We also found a cockroach in the upstairs bedroom. We left shortly thereafter and went to a hotel. The neighborhood is a little dicey without much around.

I take guest concerns seriously, which is why I requested multiple times that you provide photos of the wasp nests and the cockroach you mentioned. Unfortunately, you did not send any pictures to me or to Vrbo as proof. Instead, you have continued to request a refund without providing evidence. I even sent someone to the property twice to address the nest, but when he arrived, you were unable to show him its location and stated that you didn’t know where it was or that you no longer saw it. Without verification, I cannot approve a refund. Making false claims to receive a refund is not fair and not in good faith.

Basic clean. Plants growing from the walls. Beds were terrible. Had a futon mattress on top of a metal frame you could feel the bars from the frame. The stove hardly worked. Some burners worked but not all. The host offered me a refund to leave but i was stuck nothing in the area to jump too.. backyard was terrible the neighbors said the damage happened over the winter and was still like that in October. My advice is to stay away.. me and my family made due but that will never happen again. The owner said she thought it was reasonably priced. For a family of four.. i have stayed in other places and this by far was the worst place ive ever stayed. We spent a few hours cleaning areas just to feel more comfortable. Honestly stay away from this property.

Thank you for your review. I want to clarify a few details for accuracy and for future guests. Throughout your stay, you repeatedly sent photos that were unrelated to the condition of the home, including pictures taken on top of lamps and in areas that were clearly marked as restricted, such as the closed backyard. Despite these concerns, I still offered you a full refund and the option to leave immediately. Instead, you chose to stay for three nights with a group of ten people. This makes it clear that the property was suitable during your stay, and it appeared that your intention was to request a free stay rather than report genuine issues. At checkout, the house rules were not followed. Trash was left throughout the home and the furniture was heavily covered in dog hair, which required extensive cleaning. None of the photos you provided showed conditions that would prevent someone from staying in the home. I take all guest concerns seriously and always maintain my property to VRBO standards. I am committed to addressing any real issues, but it is also important to prevent misuse of the platform.
