About this property
NORTHERN LIGHTS! Attractive Year-Round Beach House on Lake Superior.
This cottage has 2 bedrooms. One with 2 double beds and the other with a luxury plush pillow top queen bed. The living area has a large window facing the lake and a beautiful beach stone gas fireplace. Hardwood laminate floors throughout. The kitchen has all the necessities, plus all new stainless appliances such as a microwave oven, full stove, washer/dryer, large fridge and modern coffeemaker. The bathroom has a full bath/shower. High speed Wi-Fi is also available. Our location is extremely clean, well-maintained and fully equipped with brand new or newer furnishings for a comfortable and relaxing stay.
There is a large deck that wraps the front, lake-side, and rear of the cottage with a covered roof section on the lake-side: perfect for sunsets and watching storms come in over Lake Superior.
Running behind the cottage is a small babbling trout stream that opens up to the lake on the beach. On the beach you can enjoy a camp fire under the stars or even catch the northern lights, swim the Great Lake Superior, hunt the perfect rock or agate, fish 'til the sun goes down, barbecue on the charcoal grill and picnic at the picnic table, or take a nature walk and enjoy the natural beauty of the beach and forest. In the winter, ski, snowmobile, or snow-shoe right out your front door.
Open year round, come relax and enjoy the natural beauty and tranquility of the cottage surroundings. You will truly love the beauty of the Copper Country and love staying at North Shore Cottages. For over 10 years we have opened our doors to people who continue to visit our locations year after year. Just bring your food and a vacation state of mind. About the host
Hosted by Philip Roberts
Hello, My name is Philip Roberts. My grandparents purchased this property in 1927 as a residence where they had a small farm and ran the C&H Mining Co. Waterworks. Year- round my grandmother enjoyed sharing this special place with the most attentive hospitality and today we strive to meet that standard. While there have been some changes over the years, we like to think that time has somewhat stood still. The serene peacefulness of this little private beach location is unparalleled here on the Keweenaw Peninsula. Enjoy the most restful sleep, breath the cleanest air, and swim in the cleanest most refreshing body of freshwater.
Why they chose this property
The Roberts family has enjoyed this beach property for three generations. We completely remodeled the cottage in 2010-11 to upgrade and conform to travelers needs and preferences. We love to share this special place with visitors from all corners of the world.
What makes this property unique
Running alongside this cottage is a small babbling brook, otherwise known as Brewery Creek, that opens up to the lake on the beach. On the beach you can enjoy a camp fire under the stars or even catch the northern lights, swim the Great Lake Superior, hunt the perfect rock or agate, fish till the sun goes down, barbecue on the charcoal grill and picnic at the picnic table, or take a nature walk and enjoy the natural beauty of the beach and forest. In the winter, ski, snowmobile, or snow-shoe right out your front door.
