Property was clean and in a beautiful location. Instructions for check in and out were clear and easy to follow. Very much appreciated that there was coffee and tea available for the first evening and morning. Soaps, body wash, laundry detergent, dish detergent, towels were also available on site. We liked that there were books and puzzles available. We enjoyed walking to Skálholt and walking to experience the Laugarás lagoon and restaurant was amazing. Hot tub was also enjoyable.

The communication and instructions from the owners were excellent. The documents and pictures provided were helpful for not only the property but also for the surrounding areas of interest. Two minor suggestions for improvement include stronger fans for heatwaves (we stayed in late July and the upstairs bedroom got quite toasty-which I am guessing are rare weather events) and instructions in English for the clothes washer. You would think Google translate would be helpful but we still cannot figure what the “impregnation” setting means! All in all it was a wonderful home base for ten family members exploring the beautiful country of Iceland.

Perfect for extended family vacation

Perfect place to stay with large family. Location was quiet and well situated for day trips. Had all the amenities we needed for meals in. Hosts were responsive. Gave tons of information ahead of time to help with planning our trip. Highly recommend!

Beautiful, peaceful retreat

We loved the quiet location and natural setting for the large, comfortable house. Looking over the river while we relaxed was incredible, as was the hot tub on the deck. This was a perfect location for viewing northern lights!

Excellent Location

This property was excellent in communicating to us the beauty of Iceland. The surrounding scenery as well as the access to so many amazing places made this a perfect place for us. It was also the perfect size for 6 adults and 3 teenagers. Wonderful place to stay.

Great place

Not too remote and not too close to the city, makes it a great place to try to view the northern light from the comfort of the home. Has a hot tub that you can relax in while waiting for it to appear at night.

House is beautiful and location is great. Views are amazing. House had everything we needed for 6 adults. Had an issue with the shower draining but the owners were easy to communicate with and responded to our concern immediately. Grateful to have opportunity to stay at such a lovely house and visit such a beautiful country.

Beautiful, cozy house with a great view

We had a wonderful stay at the house. It's decorated beautifully and very clean, with really comfortable beds. The master shower was so nice! We enjoyed going in the hot tub every evening. Great view of the water!
