Amazing trip and incredible hosts! Our boys were out of the car and halfway to the water before we’d unloaded a bag. That tells you most of what you need to know about Lake Day Cabins. It sits right on Houghton Lake — close enough that we could hear the waves from inside the cabin and see the sunset over the water every night. We rented two cabins so we could stay near my parents, and it worked perfectly. Kash and Andy thought of everything: family games inside, a fire pit, a grill, a picnic table, a porch with chairs and a table. Down by the dock, bins full of life jackets, swim toys and whatever else our kids could want. But the cabins aren’t the real reason I’m writing this. Kash and Andy were welcoming from day one, and when weather and bad luck wrecked our boating plans and a couple of scheduled trips, they did everything they could to salvage the week. During one storm they jumped into the lake with us to help secure our rented pontoon boat. Not once — multiple times. And surprised US with a treat after. We came as renters and left feeling like we’d stayed with friends. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. And yes, the boys have already asked when we’re going back.
What an amazing and relaxing much needed week at Lake Day Cabins. Kash, Andy and Miso were wonderful and very welcoming host. Was a little taken back there was no tv in cabin 5, but let me say it was a much needed disconnect and I’ve implemented no tv days during the week here at home. We fished, visited the dog park, played in the lake and enjoyed every minute of our week away from the hustle bustle. What a surprise when we returned to a very thoughtful basket filled with goodies! Ivy June is obsessed with her stuff duck and we’re still ranting over the delicious home baked cookies. Thank you for the beautiful views, your kindness and a great week of reconnecting!!
