Very nice host. Perfect place for us to get together with great friends. Next time we hope to spend more time and enjoy the backyard and grilling as well.
Hosts were amazing! Property was perfect for family who were in town for Thanksgiving. Plenty of room for everyone to gather and spend time together. The retro decor was fun- I was constantly discovering different items. Thanks to a couple 60 degree days we were even able to enjoy the outdoor area.
We loved the Fab4 House. Such great 60s vibe and perfect location right up the road from Saxapahaw. Perfect setting for a large group or smaller family group like us.
The most decorated rental I've ever stayed in. Very fun for all.

Fun, Comfortable House near Saxapawhaw
Stayed at this home for Elon family weekend. From the moment entering the house there are fun decorations and furnishings to take you back a few years. The home is very well equipped and Kathy is a very generous hostess. We loved the outdoor BBQ area, music on the vinyl record player, and all around a relaxing and comfortable home. The area is great too. Had a walk along the Haw river and visited shops, butcher and coffee shop in Saxapawhaw.

It was truly a pleasure having your family stay in our Saxapahaw home. I am glad you enjoyed all the 60's touches. You left the home in immaculate condition and are welcomed back anytime.
My husband and I had our retro-inspired wedding ceremony and reception at the Fab 4 village. Kathy was an incredible host, welcoming us to the property and giving us a tour personally when we arrived. Her eye for design and impeccable antiquing skills left us with the perfect canvas for our celebration. We enjoyed the central location to Graham and Saxapahaw, but also appreciated the quiet seclusion of the property. We would absolutely stay here again! Thank you Kathy!!
We absolutely loved our stay in Kathy’s home. It was perfect for what we needed. We brought our dogs and hung out, did yoga, played games and cooked! We ventured into town a couple times which is very close to as well as some walking trails along the river. The house is so unique and plenty of space. Loved the decor. And we loved the container home next door. Kathy was great with communication too. Highly recommend if looking for a house in this area!

And I loved hosting you. It is so nice when guests appreciate the mid-century modern space. It is a great place to unwind. We enjoy the home with friends too. You are welcome back anytime.
The house was clean and well stocked with kitchenware, (except for a potato masher). We appreciated all the personal touches. The décor was so much fun. We would have appreciated another sofa in the living room. If 8 to 10 people, actually stay, there was a shortage of seating for watching movies comfortably. Also, the mattresses are pretty bad. All in all, it was a good place to stay for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
This house was rented for Elon University graduation. It was nice and had a lot of space.
Pros: lots of space for large group, plenty of dishes and spaces in the house to have a large group. Owner very easy to work with and even gave me a refund when I booked too many days.
Cons: The container house pictures in listing are not apart of the rental. We had to find last minute housing for 4 family members when we arrived for graduation. 30 mins from Elon.

The house was exactly as described. It was comfortable and entertaining.
We rented the Fab 4 house for the weekend so we could attend the UNC v. Va Tech football game. Unfortunately, Hurricane Matthew was in attendance as well! Despite the weather and a humiliating loss, the two families had a wonderful time at the Fab 4 house. We played records, popped popcorn and sent the kids out to chase each other around the expansive yard in the rain!
The proximity to Saxapahaw was great, and we ate at the Eddy three meals in a row! The kids also loved the breakfast at the general store. We met the butcher at the Left Bank Butchery and the whole town was friendly and accommodating.
Thanks so much to Kathy as well for introducing us to a great place to stay for game day!

Hi,
Thank you so much for the great review. So glad you could still enjoy yourselves in spite of the hurricane. And thanks for taking such good care of the home. You are welcome back anytime. Saxapahaw is amazing and the people are great. We eat at the General Store and the Eddy every chance we get. The local-sourced food is terrific.

This house is a gem. Kathy, a wonderful host. We were so comfortable staying here and our family had a great time here! I would strongly recommend! One of the best places we have ever stayed!
This was a great place to hang out with family over a li v weekend for my daughters graduation from UNC! A GREAT time was had by all! There was plenty of space so you didn’t feel cramped and the beds were very comfortable! The 60’s /70’a vibe was so great and everyone really enjoyed there time at the house! Kathy is a Great host and very accommodating! There were so many extra’s in the house and everyone enjoyed the record player and room with the disco ball! Can’t thank Kathy enough for giving us the opportunity to stay at her place and enjoy some wonderful family time with one another! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to get away for a few days with family or friends. We will never forget our time in the Fabulous Fab4 house and all the memories we will have forever!
We rented the Fab4 House along with the 3 container units for our daughter’s wedding weekend. The wedding was at the Haw River Ballroom about a mile away. The house has 4 comfortable bedrooms with a big gathering space in the converted garage. Awesome retro design and decor. The covered grill area was awesome. Big yard for kids old and young to enjoy.
This was a perfect home to accommodate 9 people. Loved the decor and 60’s vibe. Perfect location to my brothers wedding venue (Rigmor house in chapel hill). The host offered tons of suggestions for our stay. The home was extremely clean and stocked with everything we needed! Highly recommend :)
We stayed for an event in Greensboro. There was plenty of room to spread out and the kids loved playing outdoor games in the yard. Kathy was a very responsive host!
We had a wonderful trip and this house was very close to the wedding venue

About the host
Hosted by Kathy Hansinger
The Fab 4 House is the dream venture of my husband and i, owners Tom and Kathy. This amazing community is quite different from Cleveland, OH, where I grew up. My husband and I moved to the Cary, NC area over 30 years ago. Loved the climate and proximity to the beaches and mountains. We both love to cook and entertain so we added places in the home and outside that make entertaining easy and enjoyable.
Why they chose this property
I am an avowed mid-century modern fan, growing up in the 60's and have long wanted a place to showcase the beauty of the era and its unique design. I came across this charming 1960s-era house and knew it would be perfect to remodel in mid-century modern style. Plus, it was just around the corner – literally – from the quirky, artsy, electric village of historic Saxapahaw, which itself had recently undergone a revitalization. That, coupled with the scenic beauty of the area and the laid-back peacefulness of the Haw River, made the house an excellent choice for an ideal pairing of old and new.
What makes this property unique
It is the community of Saxapahaw that drew us in. Our neighboring small farms grow vegetables and raise livestock that supply the 2 gourmet restaurants in the village. There are incredible live music performance in the Haw River Ballroom.
