This inviting outdoor living space is an extension of the home,
Start the day perched from a vantage that can yield a spectacular sunrise. If you are lucky, a school of bottle-nose porpoises will pass just off the end of the pier. A place where brown pelicans and seagulls dive for fish and wild ducks glide just out of reach into perfect landings in the small canal that runs alongside the house. Equip yourself with a rod and enjoy some of the best fishing around, or head out with your favorite book as the tide gently laps at the foot of the pilings of the pier. Weeks bay is a treasure of undiscovered natural beauty. The cozy little cabin comes equipped with three bedrooms, two baths and all the amenities needed for good living, including a washer, and dryer. The cabin sleeps up to 7. Strategically located, headquarters is just 15 minutes from downtown Fairhope where you can enjoy shopping the quaint little boutiques; or drive forty minutes south to sun on the beautiful white sands of Gulf Shores. Between excursions on the rivers that feed the small bay, you can tie the boat at the end of the pier; or dock alongside the house in the small channel depending on the tides. For dinner, you can cook fresh seafood ( caught or bought) in the full kitchen, or try one of the many restaurants in whatever direction you happen to drive. Then get up the next day and start all over again. We have baby and toddler items (pack n play, high chair, and toys) available.

We have stayed at the Sunrise Cottage multiple times, and have enjoyed every stay…only complaint is the countertops were not cleaned, and floors were not swept. Easy fix, but should have to clean when we get there.
We came to Fairhope for a family event during arts and crafts so there was lots to do but by far our favorite was when we just hung out at the house visiting and watching the water. Pelicans, dolphin's, wildlife and sunsets were delightful. Don’t expect high end amenities, but it has everything you need for a great week. Beds were comfortable and the furniture was comfy. The shower pressure was wonderful. Rustic comfortable
Quiet and out of the way, while still being convenient to downtown Fairhope, Foley, Pensacola, Orange Beach, Gulf Shores and more. Would definitely book again!
Enjoyed the cottage and the quiet location on the bay. It was really neat to see dolphins swim past the pier. Close to ocean, shopping, restauranrs and entertainment.
Location on the water is great. We were able to catch some fish just sitting on the dock. There is a bait store close by. Short drive to visit downtown Fairhope, Magnolia Springs, & Point Clear with some great restaurants..Sunset Pointe, Big Daddy’s, Panini Pete’s. It certainly could use a little love & renovating. I’d call it a fishing camp.
This was an amazing little cottage the Sunrises and the sunsets were gorgeous we fished we hung out watching the wildlife and boats passing by will definitely be back probably with our boat next time also Fairhope is a great little town with plenty to do Our Dog loved the view as well and was just as happy to be there as we were
We had the absolute best time staying here! We spent the majority of our stay just out on the dock fishing and crabbing! The house was perfect for a comfortable at home feel! This has by far been our family's favorite vacation and we can't wait to return!
Great views, peaceful, somewhat secluded. Loved walking the pier and sitting on the dock. Glad we were able to bring our dogs. Found plenty to do in nearby towns and even traveled to Mobile. Would stay again!
We absolutely loved staying here as it met all of our needs. We loved being able to keep our bat at the dock. Convenient location for the baseball tournament for my son. We will be returning asap for some peace and relaxation
We thoroughly enjoyed spending our fall break in Fairhope! We were able to spend some time at the beach, do a little shopping, and just relax at the house and do some fishing! The views were amazing, morning and night! We also loved seeing the dolphins and other wildlife! Can’t wait to visit again!!

A great place to relax on weeks bay with beautiful sunrises.
We have stayed at this cottage many times and always enjoy sitting out on the dock and enjoying the natural beauty of weeks bay.
There is great water pressure in the showers, and the house has seen some good improvements over the years.
We always enjoy staying at this funky little cottage,we take our boat and keep it tied up at the dock the whole week .
Secluded and private! House is well appointed, although the master bed needs to be replaced (quite uncomfortable). There was an infestation of gnats, and the owner personally came to exterminate. Very friendly! It's not a flashy place but we had no problems and totally enjoyed it. It was perfect for us.
We had a great week! We stayed August of 2020 and loved it so wanted to come back and see how it was during another season. It was low tide for the water so fishing and crabbing off the dock wasn't great, but that led us to go out and explore more of Alabama. We found so many beautiful and neat nature spots with water all within 1/2 hour from the place. It was another great stay and we can't wait to return!
We stayed for 13 days during Christmas and New Years. Plenty of fishing. Enough to have a fish fry before we left and plenty to freeze to take home. Weather was perfect until the day before we left, when rain moved in. The SUNRISES are AMAZING. Glad we found this property we plan on staying again. Thank You.

Fun, family time
We visited Sunrise Cottage this week. Having lived in the area, and back to visit friends and family, we knew what we were looking for in a cottage. We found this cottage to be a very nice, renovated old bay house. It is exactly what we were looking for. Great location! Convenient to Fairhope. Great fishing and pier to sun on. Beds were comfy. Very quaint and cozy. Take water shoes w you for getting in the bay. If you are interested in a quiet, laid back vacation this is the place for it. Our Boxer loved it too! We will be back!
Sunrise Cottage was the perfect place for my husband, myself, my children and their spouses and our grandson. It was so relaxing. The pier and crab traps gave my family an experience that we don't have in our Midwestern lives. The Cottage is at the right location, a half hour from the Gulf Coast and close to many other locations that are worthy of visiting. While there we had a terrible storm (12 inches of rain and tornadoes). There was some damage outside of the Cottage. We contacted the host and they were great. If we return to this area, we would love to stay at Sunrise Cottage again.

A lot of bad luck
On day two we were involved in a mva when a kid ran a stop sign and totaled our truck. Spent day in ER. No rental for next 3 days. Daughter was there thankfully to help us. We did get to sit on the nice pier and watch the birds while listening to a crew of Mexicans build a house next door. The setting was beautiful. May try it next year

Sunrise Cottage review 7/29-8/7/24 - Weeks Bay
This was our second stay at the Weeks Bay Sunrise Cottage. Unfortunately, it will be our last. Although we enjoyed our time on the bay and loved the sunrises and sunsets, we were very disappointed in the property's condition -- which has deteriorated since our last visit 3 years ago. The kitchen was not clean, floors were dirty, and rodent droppings were found in the kitchen and one of the bedrooms
.
Simple maintenance is needed: The back door did not lock properly (my husband fixed this), the A/C filter was disgusting and we changed this, and my husband screwed down numerous dangerous, loose boards on the dock.
The VRBO listing stated there was a hot tub --- there was not.
AND on our second day there, while in the middle of cooking for the family, the gas/propane tank ran out of gas. I contacted the owner immediately and she contacted the gas company to come refill the tank, but they did not arrive until the next afternoon. No gas for cooking and no hot showers for nearly two days!! The owner apologized for the inconvenience and refunded some of our money because of this issue.
When I spoke with the owner about the accuracy of the listing, she seemed surprised that the hot tub was still listed as one of the amenities.
We will look for another house for our next vacation.
The view of weeks bay sunrises was the only redeeming factor. The steps and hand rails leading to the porch and patio are in a progressively warped and rotting condition as is the wharf that goes to the boat shed. Inside there was a wet area on the couch that smelled foul and worst of all dog feces on the middle bedroom floor. When the washing machine pumped out it backed up in the master b/r sink and gurgled in the kitchen sink. The eating utensils was a poor collection of about 4 different styles and butter knives were stained . outside leading to the wharf had sewerage draining in puddles leading and running off into Weeks Bay and smelled awful the entire 4 days we were there. As beautiful as the sunrises were over the bay i will never stay there again. I am considering calling the health dept. about the condition as i explained. I strongly suggest a partial or full refund due to the listed conditions. I took photos of the listed complaints.
