The location of the house worked very well for our visit to the college. The size of the house fit our family needs, and the host was quick to answer our questions.

I am glad that you enjoyed the snacks and beverages that we provided for you.
It was very spacious, cozy and comfortable. Plenty of room to spread out and relax. The rooms were very large and cozy! Plenty of off street parking and close to town and Clarkson University.

Thanks so much for staying, you were such great guests!
Alisa’s house was very spacious and clean! It is a great location if you are visiting Clarkson or SUNY Potsdam. We would definitely stay here again! Alisa was also very responsive.
We had a great stay! Our host was so attentive - replied quickly when we messaged. We got in pretty late after driving most of the day - it was so nice to find that our host had left lights on for us and the temperature was just right - very welcoming after a long day on the highway. The home was decorated nicely, everything was very clean and we had plenty of space to relax. Loved how close we were to the downtown area and the SUNY campus - perfect for coming and going from between events at Crane. We would definitely stay here again!
The property was very spacious, private off street parking was great, well stocked with the basics, furniture and beds were comfortable. Within walking distance to the city. Would definitely stay again. Property owner was very attentive.

Lots of room, quiet and good communication with the host. Thanks!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The residence is a beautiful older home, 30’s & 40’s style hardwood floors, plaster walls, cool woodwork… things you don’t find in many more newly built homes. And a nice setting, close to groceries, eateries, gas. Would definitely consider staying here again, when in the North Country.

Simple but very comfortable. Very well maintained, and almost instant response to any communication.
The property was well situated to the town for us. Rentals are not plentiful in this smaller town, so we appreciated the proximity. The host was accessible and helpful. The older home was large, with all the room we needed and more (we were 3 adults). It is a shared wall duplex, and the neighbors couldn’t be heard—very nice! I had to remove someone else’s hair wad from the shower drain, which was there as I stepped in so I know it wasn’t mine. The coffee maker and pot (critical equipment!!) had to be scrubbed before use. That is also how I keep my house, but I’d rather not pay to do the same thing in a rental property! Other than those 2 oversights, the accommodation was clean, right down to the floors drying from being well-mopped—thank you! We enjoyed the two new Adirondack chairs and side table for our morning coffee outside. The fresh flowers on the dining room table was a welcoming touch.

About the host
Hosted by Alisa Woods
I am a cellist and a psychotherapist, originally from Long Island, but I’ve lived on the west coast, in Brooklyn, Germany and Romania. I like making people happy and I enjoy hosting and allowing guests to have a unique experience in our quirky old townhouse. Ask me about musical performances and sound baths in the area, I’m usually performing somewhere in the area on weekends and I also know about other musicians. If you have an event I’m available to play solo, with a duo, trio, quartet or guitar.
Why they chose this property
This is a quiet street in walking distance to universities and downtown. I live here too in a house nearby, so I appreciate this neighborhood. If you have children there is a playground right nearby as well as the children ’s museum.
What makes this property unique
Our house offers more space than others of comparable price. You can enjoy time with family. I provide family boardgames and an outdoor grill. Built in 1880 during the height of the Potsdam sandstone mining boom, this townhome has always been a duplex residence that allows complete privacy for the two sides of the building. Upstairs air conditioning allows for cool summers and the downstairs living room stays cool with box fans and shade. The kitchen is fully stocked if you want to cook.
