The Burrow, an amazing floating cabin with pontoon rental available
Tucked into a quiet cove off Grant Island in the Indian River Lagoon, The Burrow is a one-of-a-kind floating cabin designed for those who want to unplug without sacrificing comfort. Surrounded by water and accessible only by boat, this secluded retreat offers a true escape—while still being within reach of waterfront restaurants and the Sebastian Inlet.
Wake up to dolphins gliding past the deck, spend your days fishing, paddleboarding, or birdwatching, and unwind each evening with panoramic sunset views from the wraparound porch. Whether you're seeking adventure or tranquility, The Burrow offers a memorable setting to reconnect with nature and the people around you.
The cabin is powered by a combination of solar energy and a gas generator, giving you an off-grid experience with modern comforts. Enjoy air conditioning, a hot shower, and your morning Nespresso coffee, along with a microwave and cooler for added convenience.
The main living area includes a queen bed, a settee that converts into a twin sleeper, and a spacious bathroom. A cozy loft, accessed by ladder, features an additional queen-size bed—perfect for families or small groups.
Getting There & Exploring Guests are welcome to bring their own boat (please inquire if it has a deep draft), or you can rent our pontoon boat directly through us. While not required, having a boat greatly enhances your stay—giving you the freedom to explore nearby spoil islands and local waterfront dining.
We offer flexible check-in and check-out times for guests bringing or renting a boat, depending on availability. For reference, comparable boat rentals in the area are around $650 per day—our bundled option offers added value with full access throughout your stay.
If you prefer not to bring or rent a boat, we’re happy to provide transportation to and from the cabin at check-in and check-out (after 3 PM arrival / before 11 AM departure). Additional trips may be arranged upon request, or local water taxi services are available for a small fee.
Guest Access You’ll have full, private access to the entire cabin.

We stayed 3 nights at the burrow. Such a unique experience and area of “Old Florida.” Come to this property if you enjoy fishing, sunsets, boating and nature. Hosts were extremely kind and helpful. Would definitely return! Plenty to explore. Burrow was very clean and comfortable! Thank you for having us.
We wanted to find a special place to take the girls for Spring Break. This way just that! The hosts were absolutely wonderful. The kids enjoyed an evening of kayaking, board games and beautiful views.
The hosts were absolutely wonderful and kind- providing us with a ride from the dock to the houseboat. The purpose of this trip was to simple be in a beautiful peaceful setting and relax, and we were able to do just that. The listing looks identical to the photos and as frequent inlet visitors it wa
We had a great time this past weekend, the house is located very close to the public boat ramp with overnight parking and is located only about 4 miles to Sebastian Inlet by boat. The home was very comfortable and clean, the host were very accommodating. We will definitely book again this summer. We loved how convenient it was to roll up from a long day on the water grab a quick shower and zip away to dinner on the boat. Great times..
Super unique and fun stay. The owners are very friendly and helpful.Just a couple of suggestions for future guests planning on staying for more than a couple days: Take ice for the cooler, possibly an extra cooler, paper plates and utensils, paper towels, extra garbage bags. But I'm pretty sure if there was anything you needed/forgot the owners would supply or direct you on an easy means to get it. They are very responsive. I highly recommend you rent their boat. Driving around and docking up to restaurants really made the trip enjoyable. But simply staying on the house, watching the sunrise and sunset with fish jumping, dolphin fins, manatee nose peaking out of the water is an ideal way to get away for peace and tranquility.
We had the pleasure of staying on this beautiful houseboat, and I can confidently say it was one of the most relaxing and romantic experiences we’ve had in a while. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by our friendly hosts, who were incredibly helpful and responsive before and throughout our stay. The houseboat itself was immaculate and well-appointed, providing a cozy and private atmosphere that made it easy to unwind. The stunning views of the river were absolutely breathtaking, especially during sunset. We brought our own boat, and the houseboat is conveniently close to the boat ramp. There were also some fantastic places to eat nearby, so we never had to venture too far for a delicious meal.Overall, this stay exceeded all my expectations. I can't recommend it highly enough and would love to return for another unforgettable getaway. If you're looking for a serene escape surrounded by nature, this houseboat is the perfect choice!
