If you are looking for a nice relaxing place with a country setting the yellow house is the place for you. We enjoyed a three night stay and made friends with the highland cow Hamish and his small goat friend Spot. The host, Rachel communicated very well and provided very detailed directions. Overall great stay!
We loved our little yellow house on the farm! Perfect for our weekend getaway. Bedrooms are all upstairs and everything else is downstairs. They’ve done a great job making you feel right at home from check-in to check-out! We are already looking to come back in the Fall!
An unforgettable farm stay! Maplecroft Farm is a beautiful property nestled in the Pennsylvania countryside. The scenery is stunning, and waking up to the views of the dairy cows was exactly the peaceful escape from the city we were looking for. The farm is impeccably maintained, and the hosts are fantastic. If you want to experience the charm of PA farm life, this is the place to be!
The house was very clean and my family loved the layout. An additional fan or air movement for upstairs during hot months would be good. It was quite warm, but manageable. For those who need to be connected, the house has WiFi but when off of the property we did not have cell service for two different providers. Not a big deal but plan accordingly. Overall I’d stay here again and would recommend to others.
Great place in the country! Only about 20 min from places in Altoona and State College. The house had everything you could think of. It was so nice to arrive to some local milk and cookies, especially when having kiddos along. Highly recommend. We would stay here again.
The yellow house was perfect. Peaceful, quiet, the house was well stocked with every thing you need and Rachel the host had milk and cookies waiting for us. It was nice to hear the rooster in the morning and see deer running in the fields. If ever back in Altoona this will be our go to.
The house was clean and spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed all the rooms, including the family room to watch Christmas movies. The kitchen was wonderfully stocked with everything we needed to cook and eat meals. The location was beautiful to be able to stand out on the porch and listen to all the sounds of nature and see the beautiful sky at night. Thank you for a wonderful stay we really enjoyed our trip
Beautiful surroundings. Clean, new well appointed house. Super easy. A perfect stay!

We had a fun visit at the Yellow House on the farm while in the area. It was lovely, quiet and peaceful. Mornings on the porch watching turkeys, roosters and deer was something you just can't do at home. Rachel was a terrific host. Very helpful and accommodating. The milk and cookies were a nice touch. We hope to stay there again and have already recommended this place to friends who will be traveling through.
Our 2 nights here were nothing short of perfection. We were in town for the weekend while we moved our daughter in to Penn State. Our family is also from a rural area so this property gave us peace and quiet that you can never find at a hotel. The house was immaculate and the beds were very comfortable. We were also given cookies and a bottle of milk that may have been the most delicious milk I’ve ever had. We will definitely utilize this listing in the future for our next visit.
We (2 couples) had the most delightful stay at the Yellow House which is nestled on a farm property away from the relative hustle and bustle of Altoona. From the moment we arrived, we felt truly welcomed—especially with the thoughtful touch of cookies and milk waiting for us!The house was spotless, cozy, and well-appointed. The kitchen was impressively stocked, the beds were comfortable, and the TV room had 2 extremely comfortable sofas where we relaxed after an early evening enjoying a fire in the firepit (with provided wood). Communication with the host was excellent—friendly, responsive, and helpful throughout our stay. It’s clear they care deeply about creating a welcoming experience. We would absolutely return and highly recommend this lovely cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in a country farm setting.
