About this property
Blue Jay Bungalow- 3 bedroom with private outdoor porches, kid-friendly big yard
This charming "Blue Jay Bungalow" is a classic 1940's 2 story (plus lower level) 3-bedroom house with a delightful covered side porch with seating, and upstairs porch above it. This wonderful property boasts a large private yard, surrounded by woods and a trampoline and swing set for the kids plus a patio for outdoor dining with small BBQ grill and a fire pit area. There is plenty of parking and a vintage two car garage. The bedrooms upstairs provide a queen bed; 2 twin beds; full bed (crib mattress in closet available) in that room... perfect for families or groups of friends. With amenities like free Wifi, AC, full stocked kitchen, large dining room and a washing machine and dryer on the lower level, guests can enjoy a pleasant stay. The second full bath is on the lower level along with a second kitchen area but it is not a furnished space. The 2 and 1/2 bathrooms offer showers, a tub, hair dryers and amenities for convenience. The comfortable living room is perfect for gathering with the only TV in the home, plus the attached room is perfect for games, cards or puzzles at the table with a chalkboard ready for your children's creations.
Only 1 mile east takes you to a quaint hometown restaurant, Ari and Mia's, in the little downtown of Miamitown where you can explore the antique stores and shops, and 1 mile west stop in at the Red Barn Farm circa 1840 for farm fresh eggs. A close drive to I-275 will conveniently take you anywhere you need to go in the greater Cincinnati area. A little further west down Harrison Pike will take you to the historic town of Harrison Ohio, named after 9th President of the USA, William Henry Harrison.

A few little quirks about this older home:
No overhead light in laundry room but laundry soap available
No lock on upstairs bathroom door
The stairs seem a little steeper than today's standards..
There are no sidewalks as Harrison Pike is a busy road.
The driveway is gravel and very steep at the beginning
but there is plenty of room to park near the house.
Use caution when exiting driveway as road is curvy and hard to see traffic.

About the host
Hosted by Heidi Martin
I hope you enjoy our sweet little Blue Jay home! I previously lived in the northern Cincinnati area, raised children here, and have family nearby. When we bought horses we discovered the more rural peacefulness of the west side of town and fell in love with it, buying a small farm nearby. Now we live in northern California on a cattle ranch. We stay in the Blue Jay house when we visit family so please ignore clothes in the closet. LOL We enjoy sharing our home with others and hope you enjoy your stay. here. Best, The Martins
Why they chose this property
I love the privacy of this sweet home and the shady yard. Our grandkids love playing here too. They have shared some of their books and toys for other children to enjoy while here.
What makes this property unique
I hope you enjoy the peaceful, relaxing feeling that I sense when I stay in the Blue Jay Bungalow, yet you are only a 20 minute drive from many activities in the greater Cincinnati area. It is an older home, so has some quirks. There are some elder trees in the yard that provide great shade but also host a pesky elder beetle population that occasionally sneak into the house. They are harmless and I apologize if you are bothered with them or the lady bugs that always seem to appear. The house is professionally cleaned often but it is an older country home and despite my efforts these insects may appear.
