Wake up directly on Brantingham Lake in The Floater, a real houseboat moored beside Grant Island in the Adirondacks.



This is a stay for two guests who want something more memorable than a standard cabin or hotel room. Your queen bed faces panoramic lake views, your private deck and dock put you at the water’s edge, and a dedicated electric boat gives you the freedom to explore after orientation.

IMPORTANT FIT DETAILS:



• There is no toilet or shower aboard The Floater.

• The shared bathroom and shower building is approximately 250 feet away by an outdoor uphill route with exactly 25 stairs.

• Because The Floater is a real floating accommodation, it may rock or sway with wind, waves and passing watercraft.

• Other guests and management may be elsewhere on Grant Island, and certain island amenities are shared.



The Floater is best for guests who see these details as part of an authentic houseboat adventure. Guests who require an onboard bathroom, a short step-free bathroom route or a completely stationary sleeping space should choose one of our land-based Grant Island stays.

A dedicated electric boat is included after the required orientation. Approved operators may use it for transportation between Grant Island and the mainland parking area, fishing and leisurely exploration of Brantingham Lake.



Canoe, rowboat and pedal boat access are also included at no additional cost. These watercraft may be shared with other small-accommodation guests and remain subject to weather, maintenance, safety and availability.



Management is also available to provide pontoon transportation when you prefer not to operate the electric boat.

HOW ARRIVAL WORKS:



You park at our designated mainland parking area, where we meet you and help with your belongings. We bring you to Grant Island by pontoon boat, a ride that generally takes about 5 minutes.



After arrival, we show you The Floater, explain the bathroom route and shared island areas, and provide the required orientation for your dedicated electric boat. We remain available during your stay for questions, transportation help or anything requiring attention.

DOG-FRIENDLY STAY:



The standard policy allows one approved dog weighing up to 20 pounds. Add your dog to the reservation so the current pet fee is included. A larger or second dog requires prior written approval, which is not guaranteed.



Dogs must be friendly, non-aggressive and under the guest’s control. Complete pet requirements are provided under Other Things to Note.

Other guests may be staying in Stabbin Cabin #1, Stabbin Cabin #2, Waterfront Glamping or the Main Cottage. Management remains in a separate on-island residence during the operating season.



The dedicated electric boat is reserved for The Floater, subject to orientation, weather, charging, maintenance and safe lake conditions. Canoe, rowboat and pedal boat access may be shared.



The Main Cottage’s private hot tub, dock and waterfront area are not included. Please respect marked accommodations, docks and operational areas reserved for other guests or management.



The Neighborhood:

Grant Island is a privately owned 1.4-acre island on public Brantingham Lake in the Adirondacks.



The setting combines classic Adirondack lake life with the rare experience of sleeping directly on the water. Guests come for boating, fishing, swimming, wildlife, sunsets and clear night skies.



Brantingham Lake is public, so residents and recreational boaters may also be on the water.



Two popular restaurants and bars, a local general store and seasonal recreation are available on the nearby mainland. The wider Adirondack and Tug Hill region offers hiking, state parks, horseback riding, wineries and other outdoor activities.



Because Grant Island is accessed by boat, bring the food, clothing, medication and personal supplies you expect to need during your stay.



Getting Around:

Guests park at our designated mainland parking area. We meet you there, help with your belongings and bring you to Grant Island by pontoon boat. The ride generally takes about 5 minutes.



After arrival, approved operators receive an orientation for The Floater’s dedicated electric boat. Every operator must be at least 18.



The electric boat may be used for:



• Transportation between Grant Island and the mainland

• Fishing

• Leisurely exploration of Brantingham Lake



After-dark boat operation is allowed only when required navigation lights are working and proper flotation devices are worn. Guests must bring a working flashlight and must remain visible to other potential nighttime boaters.



Boat use is subject to weather, charging, maintenance, safe lake conditions and equipment availability.



If you prefer not to operate the electric boat, management remains available to provide pontoon transportation between the island and mainland.



One mainland parking space is included. All guest vehicles remain on the mainland, and there are no guest vehicles on Grant Island.
