The host was great and very welcoming. The view of the pond from the kitchen is genuinely soothing — a perfect spot to slow down and unwind. Would happily stay again.
Host was very accommodating and gave excellent advice during our stay. This place had so much extra room than we’re used to. Would absolutely stay at Birdsong Farm again.
Owner was a great guy...Available for anything....Good hiking trails nearby. Very peaceful...

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
We’d like to start off with the positive:the property location is stunning. Rolling hills and forests are all you see.The house is spacious, filled with supplies needed, and definitely can host a whole family comfortably. John, the host, is kind, friendly, and excellent with communication!HOWEVER, the downfalls:this property is lacking in cleanliness and upkeep. To start, the grass lining the driveway is calf high — in an area with prime ticks. The interior was filthy and infested with insects. We understand this is the forest, however, an exterminator would not cost very much in comparison to the money made in bookings. While in the kitchen, making coffee, ants were crawling across the sink counter, and up a guest’s leg. Another guest had a spider drop down from the ceiling above her bed. Spiders were in the sink, dish drainer, on the toilet seat and in corners of the ceiling. We had to take care of 6 spiders the first night. Not even 2 full minutes after putting a box of pizza on the kitchen counter, ants were crawling across the side of the box. One of the toilet seats had a feces smear, another mold growing in it. The toaster oven was filled with crumbs and smears, food crumbs across the counter. The house is rundown and in need of repair. To see a charge for cleaning in the receipt breakdown is surprising and unacceptable. We could go on much longer, but chose to leave it here — that being the host is kind.
Comfortable, dog friendly home with proximity to a park/ hiking trails/ and plenty of outdoor spaces to enjoy. Our host made sure we had everything we needed and was easy to contact.

Glad you approved Daniel and party ! (Readers: The frogs were in the pond, not the house, incidentally :)
Had a great getaway weekend here! Lots of snow on the ground, and the owner cut paths in the snow for paths. Also really close to a park with trails. Owner was really nice and even cleaned snow off of our car in the morning! Great place and would whole heartily recommend this property.
Property manager was available, but unobtrusive. The property was clean with room for everyone to stretch out. Finished our weekend with a fire pit and firewood supplied on site. It was our 2nd stay. We even saw a pileated woodpecker! Will definitely visit again. Great place for animal lovers. I also appreciated the safety handlebar in shower.

Comfy house and good access to hiking
The house was warm and comfortable with a modern kitchen. The property is adjacent to hiking trails and the host provided good suggestions for local dining. I enjoyed the local cafe especially. John is eager to ensure a good visit and I would recommend to others.

The place was awesome and John was also very kindness!!!
I hope i will visit again. Thanks for everything John.
My husband and I wanted to relax on Labor day. Birdsong Farm was perfect. The house is nice and cozy. The owner is very friendly and available if you need anything. There is a cabin in the back of the house but you still feel like you are in your own little world. Our dog also loved it, plenty of land and trails for her to explore. I would definitely recommend.

Thank you Crystal and Rob , glad you had a relaxing time !
John is a great host! Communicative, kind, easy-going and ever-so-welcoming :) And his dog Bucky is abso adorable! John showed us all around his beautiful property, directed us to a really neat hike up Walnut Mountain and the old ruins of the Walnut Mountain Hotel (burned down ~1913) with a trail that starts on HIS property and connects to the Walnut Mountain Park (excellent trails for mountain bikers btw!). The Casa Verde house is old and very well maintained/refurbished and just lovely… very comfortable to stay there, hear the bullfrogs at night from the pond, wander the fields and pick the black raspberries… we had a divine stay :):):) Thank you John!!!
We had a wonderful stay at Bird Song Farm. John was very gracious and responsive. Beautiful farm property and a precious vintage home to stay in ( Casa Verde). We booked the property to be near Bethel (Woodstock) and it worked out wonderfully. John gave us good advice as to when to arrive at the Bethel venue for a concert and also places to go to eat (restaurants on the lake in Bethel). Liberty and nearby Livingston Manor were very quaint and we enjoyed shopping and eating there as well (local diner, vintage shop, and Kosher grocery store). The home was clean and cozy with all the amenities that we needed for our 2-night stay. The beds and bedding are very comfortable and the place has a great eclectic vibe. We also loved meeting John's adorable dog Bucky! It would be fabulous if we had the chance to stay there again. Right on!

thanks Susan and John, glad you had a good trip !!!
We planned a week long getaway for a family of 6 (husband, wife, adult daughter and adult daughter her husband and small child) and our 4 dogs. The first place we reserved canceled on us, and it couldn't have worked out better. I found the house in Liberty and we're all happy that I did. The communication with John the owner was fast and he was able to answer any questions we had. John also kept in contact up when we got there to make sure we had everything we needed. The house itself is well kept and was ready upon arrival. We brought a lot of things with us, but the house had all of the amenities needed to cook and make sure we were comfortable. With that many people the 2 and a half baths were perfect. The bedrooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. The property itself is large and off the beaten path so our dogs loved running off leash, but make sure to clean up after your pets, we did! Also make sure you bring lights for the pets at night, watching their lights bound through the grass will give you a good laugh. The surrounding area is quiet and sparse but with plenty to do nearby and lots of stores close to grab anything you may need. Overall what made this a great place to stay was John, the house and the property. And we cant say enough about how great John was, he was attentive while giving us plenty of privacy, we even woke up one morning to fresh fruit on the porch. The big question is always would we stay here again? That answer is absolutely, without hesitation. Honestly my husband and I have talked about staying in the summer to see the farm (yes it's a working farm) up and running. Thanks for a great time John.
