The home itself was nice, but there were issues with lack of communication about using the back gate. We had to wait until 4 to check in although the home was ready at like 2 pm and I explained we had small children that could use the time in for naps. There would have been a fee for that and honestly the rate per night for this part of Evansville was already steep as it’s not the nicest area. Also, the previous guests left a gun in the home. We have a 16 month old. That could have easily been a horrible situation had it been found as it was in a drawer nightstand easily accessible. We were only offered a late check out for these issues. This was all addressed but it made for a more uneasy stay than I would have hoped. The owner was quick to respond and helped with another issue that arose from the pack n play missing from the home as we had planned to use. A new one arrived quickly. The home itself was nice, the communication with the owner was great but I do feel like a little more could have been done after the rough start.

Thank you for your stay and for sharing your feedback. I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the home overall, and I truly appreciate you noting our communication throughout your trip. To touch on a few items: • Early check-in: The home was ready a bit ahead of schedule, and as outlined in our listing and check-in instructions, we do offer optional early check-in for a small fee. Many guests take advantage of it, but of course it’s completely optional. Since you preferred the standard 4pm check-in, we followed our usual timing. We always try to give guests flexibility based on what works best for them. • Back gate: After your stay, we walked through it with our team and found everything operating normally. Even so, we’re adding a clearer note in the instructions just to make arrival even smoother for future guests. • Pack-and-play: I’m sorry it wasn’t where it should have been. As soon as you reached out, we had a new one delivered within the hour, and we updated our turnover checklist to make sure this doesn’t happen again. • Item left by a prior guest: This was an extremely unusual and unfortunate situation. Our cleaners do check drawers, but these particular dresser drawers don’t fully extend, and the item had been pushed behind the visible area. As soon as we were notified, it was immediately retrieved and the prior guest was reported to the platform. Our inspection protocol was updated to include reaching into those deeper spaces.
