About this property

Lake home, beautiful view and hot tub

Enjoy our lake home's beautiful view & private hot tub. 35 feet of tall windows give a panoramic view of the lake, where swimming, fishing, kayaking will make you want to stay longer. 30x12 deck with seating for 10 invites you to soak up the lake view. Enjoy zipline, fire pit, hammock, dock, kayaks, birds, ping pong, board games/puzzles. Three queen beds with awesome memory foam & three twin beds sleeps 9 easily. Reliable, fast internet. Tailored to kids & families.
The space
This home is located on Harris Brake Lake in Houston, Arkansas and close to Petit Jean State Park, which is where there are at least two waterfalls, including the one pictured--Cedar Falls Water, which is approximately 100 feet tall.

Adjacent to Harris Brake Lake is the Harris Brake Wildlife Management Area, which is a 3200 acre area protected by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. Hunting is allowed on the WMA, so it is not uncommon to hear a gun shot occasionally.

It is also very common to see all sorts of wildlife at the lake house, including deer, raccoons, beaver, snakes, turtles and more. The number of birds is amazing. We regularly see bald eagles (which have a nest on the lake), osprey (which also have a large nest on the lake), great horned owls (although they are heard more than seen), pileated woodpeckers, great white pelicans, belted kingfishers, great blue herons, mallards, buffleheads, wood ducks and more.
Other things to note
Enjoy any of the 6 kayaks, paddles and nearly a dozen life jackets (sizes Extra large, Adult universal, Youth and Child) provided for no additional charge.

Enjoy the fire pit. Often we have firewood available on site for free. However, they also sell it in town at the local grocery store.

In fact, there are four grocery stores nearby. Two Dollar Generals, a Family Dollar and Harps. Harps is the largest of the four and is located in town, about 5 minutes away. None of them sell alcohol, so you have to stop about 20 minutes away to grab beer, etc.

The zipline is amazing and is rated for up to 200 pounds. My kids love it.

There is a fold up ping pong table in the bunk room.

There are three large 65 to 70 inch smart TV's. One in the great room, one in the bunk room and one on a stand in the living room; it is easy to roll the stand out of the view of the lake, but sit around on the large sectional and watch a movie at night.

The work space is off of the master bedroom. Internet has been great since the installation of fiber optic cable. The speed has been around 250 mbps.

This place is perfect for families with kids and pets are welcome. There is a $25 fee if you bring a pet.

Drove 4.5 hours to get there with family since we were visiting for Christmas. Got in at 4am and saw 2 trucks parked at the house. Ended up knocking on the door and a lady came out and said she had the place until Tuesday. So the vrbo got double booked and left us scrambling. Jason luckily answered the phone but it had us not getting into a place until 5am. He put us in another home that was nice but it was smaller than what I booked and less amenities at the house. He agreed that I should get somewhat of a refund for the inconvenience but then he stopped responding and I never received it.
