Thanks Carl, The neighborhood is where they filmed "Driving Miss Daisy," and former home to Dick Van Dyke and author. Pat Conroy. The cookies were wonderful, Happy New Year
Overall we had a good stay at this property; lovely that the owners allowed our four legged family members. The drain in one of the bathtubs did not work well; was on weekend so plumber was not available. There were insects in the house which did make our children a little nervous.....would also recommend maybe an update with the appliances. Owner was very easy to reach by email w/ our concerns. Thank you again.

Thanks. In the south after a long period of rain ants do take refuge
While tiny and few in number they appear bothersome
I wish u had called, we have ant repellent

Could be awesome!
First of all the house could be amazing. Kitchen and bathrooms are very old and dingy.. We had to wash our bath towels as soon as we got there. They where Milldewed. Master bathroom room literally had a dirty wash cloth with hair and something stuck to it in cabinet. Two or three doors did not lock. Couch was broken in 3 places which by the way had the only TV to watch so you had no choice but to sit on it. This house could be so awesome but first night a squirrel got into the house from the broken fireplace and got into all of our food we had just bought. Because the damper was broken . The fireplace the house smells of smoke and soot real bad. Location is great the livingroom is beautiful but the house needs lots of repairs. Also 3 flight of stairs to do anything. First time I ever had to leave a poor rating and I hate to do this but it was not good.

Are you sure you stayed at our house? All 5 stars...The kitchen and bathrooms are just as they are seen in the pictures, bright, clean white and well lit. We provided 20 clean bleached towels and clearly the washer/dryer was not used, so beats me how or why you washed? You must have had quite an adventure to find a washcloth in the back of one of the cabinets. All of our door locks work, perhaps you were unaccustomed to European locks. The almost new 14 ft L shaped sofa is of course sectional and perhaps one of your guests unlatched one section but its certainly not broken. The two fireplace are not broken,( I'm not sure how you would even break a fireplace) the flue had been left open and a welcoming fire was laid for you. Possibly a downdraft caused the woodsy smell. Of course there are stairs...It was quite clear that it is a 3 story house in the description and pictures. Perhaps your long difficult drive affected you approach and attitude but the house is indeed awesome.
My great niece was having open heart surgery not far from the house. Ten minutes prior to arrival at the house they call and said hospital had postponed surgery. We came from Florida and were exhausted. We were now 2 hours away from our family and decided to go home. Buck was gracious enough to offer to reserve in September for us but they did the surgery a week later. Very kind and gracious host.

Beautiful scenery and comfort home
We loved staying here. We had 8 people fit comfortably in the house. Superb location, close to Emory which was perfect for graduation and exploring the area. Kitchen is functional and views from the house are astounding. Buck Winfield was so friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.

Overall we liked the home.
We liked the home and found the areas to be both safe and with an interesting restaurant scene not too far away. The house itself is a well-maintained home elevated where you feel like you’re in the treetops. A soaring screened lanai makes for great evenings out of doors without the hassle of bugs.If you want to sparkling brand new perfect everything...then this might not be the home for your crew...if you want something with texture, charm and interest ...then I would recommend it. For me it’s about “would I go back here again...the answer for 4 of the 5 in our crew would be yes.

Lovely House in a Grand Ole Decatur Neighborhood
Beautifully landscaped this spacious "treehouse" was a delight. The owners were gracious and so very accommodating to our special requests. Our family highly recommends it to anyone interested in experiencing the best of in-town Atlanta/Decatur living.

Great house and location.
Really enjoyed the family room and great screened lanai. Quite a few steps so if you are limited in mobility this a challenging house. All the necessary comforts of home are available. The area of town was lovely and very close to great restaurants.

So glad you enjoyed the house, your family were great guests. And you are correct it takes a few extra steps for a 3 story "treehouse" so we hope it was worth it. Thanks, Alice & Buck

Great house — wonderful hosts
We stayed at Buck & Alice's house over Christmas, and it was perfect. The house was spacious for our family of five but also cozy and inviting. Buck and Alice are great hosts. They made sure we had everything we needed for a wonderful stay in Atlanta — even a Christmas tree and a fire in the fireplace! — and were always available for questions. The neighborhood is quiet, pretty and conveniently located (about 15 mins away from downtown, although you pretty much need a car). We highly recommend staying here.
