Great Stay!

We very much enjoyed staying at this home in Cambridge. The location was perfect. Very walkable to local restaurants, the science museum, the subway station, and downtown Boston. The house was clean and spacious with plenty of room for all 6 of our guests. We would absolutely stay here again if we found ourselves in the area again!

Great location and accommodations

Quaint revival with great beds and fully stocked. T is 4 blocks away. Construction noise was a bit annoying during the week but that’s progress I suppose.

Centrally located Home away from home

Great home base to explore Boston, Cambridge and Lexington. There’s parking! (Rare in this area) close to public transport and very Uber accessible. Walking distance to many things! Home away from home because it has all the amenities we needed to be comfortable - us w/ 3 adult children and 1 grandchild. Fully equipped kitchen, nice, big living and dining areas. Quick, friendly reply from owner when we had questions. Overall, we enjoyed this house and location. Highly recommended and we will be back! Thanks Lynne

Everything we hoped for

The property and Lynne exceeded all expectations. The house was a home away from home with everything we needed for a two week stay without a car. The location was fantastic - walking distance to a supermarket, restaurants for breakfast, dinner or just a quick coffee. The property was close to central Boston, but also quiet so we could unwind sipping gin and tonic on the terrace. We got Ubers everywhere to go to museums, aquarium, MIT, Harvard (although Museum of Science is just a few blocks away), for trips to see the whales, for walks along the coast, visit family and later to head down to Cape Cod. The house was also a short drive away from Harvard Square to visit my son at the summer school. We would definitely stay again. Thank you Lynne.

Amazing week in Cambridge home

Cannot say enough wonderful things about our week long stay at this home. Fabulous piece of history in this impeccably maintained 1844 Greek Revival infused with modern conveniences. I traveled here with my family, including 4 WFH adults who all had private desk areas to use. Everyone was happy!! The kitchen was modernized and well appointed, the common areas were spacious and comfortable, the bathrooms had everything we needed (even a steam shower) and the bedrooms with super comfortable bedding were a welcome comfort at the end of long walking days. The upstairs suite is an extra special delight, like we were staying in Sweden. The back porch is delightful, and the front porch was lovely to sit and watch the storms roll in. Lynne was incredibly responsive and attentive to all of our questions and needs. Thanks again for a wonderful week!!!! Xo

Amazing property, great location and unbelievable hospitality!

This house is amazing - historic architecture with all the modern upgrades. It ended up being a little cool for us to enjoy the outdoor space, but the upstairs patio and downstairs deck area would have been great spaces as well. The bedrooms are very spacious for a house this age, bathrooms are upgraded and very nice. The large eat in kitchen is great - we enjoyed a few meals around the island. Our kids loved the house as well. Restaraunts in the area are great as well - especially recommend the East Side Bar & Grille - great food, atmosphere and hospitality. Location is great - only a short (5 min) walk to the green line - we walked to the science museum and were easily able to take the train or uber elsewhere, only a few minutes from anywhere your going in Boston. By far the best part was Lynne and her hospitality! She went out of the way to make sure we were welcomed and had everything we needed - she was only a text away if anything came up, or we needed recommendations on places to eat or go. She even brought us muffins on Marathon morning. Overall she made our trip great! We’ll definitely stay here again on return trips and would highly recommend this house and experience to anyone staying in the area!

Great Stay with all the luxuries and essentials

Paul and Lynne have an amazingly historic yet modern home in East Cambrige with all the essentials. We started off our great stay with Paul showing us around the house and letting us know where everything was. He then presented us with a bottle of Chanpagne and gave us his contact information in case we had any further questions. Prior to our stay, both Paul and Lynne were extremely responsive to all of our inquiries and responded within an hour. The house had parking for at least two cars and was literally a five minute walk to the Green T line. The kitchen was extremely modern and well stocked, and there were ample towels and blankets for the entire family to use. We were also able to spread out amongst the various large room and not disturb one another... some of us played a board game while others quietly read by the fireplace. While there are all the modern essentials in the home, it appears that there were pleasantly drastic steps to keep some of the original 1840 touches in the home including the beautiful planked hardwood floors. There are two cute cats that hang out on the porch, but dont come in the house (unless your mother-in-law accidentally leaves the door open). If the weather were warmer during our stay, we would have loved to use more of the outdoor space. A couple small things to take note of: 1) We think one of the outdoor cats may have snuck into the TV room because the couch had fur on it and I had a slight allergic reaction in that room, 2) as our stay was in the beginning of winter and it was very windy, some of the bedrooms were a little drafty at night (but there are lots of blankets in all the closets), and 3) We all had a bit of a fight for hot water during our showers (as we were all getting ready for a wedding at the same time). Overall, a five-star experience and we were very grateful that we stayed in this home. Highly recommended! Thanks again to Paul and Lynne!

Great house in Cambridge

Spacious, comfortable house in East Cambridge made for a perfect home base during our recent trip to Boston. The house was just as it appeared in the photos. The beds were very comfortable, everything was neat and clean, the kitchen was extremely well stocked and check-in and out was a breeze. An excellent place to stay and I would happily return to it if I ever find myself in Boston again.

Great place to stay with my family in Boston

We recently stayed at this property for a spring break trip to Boston. Although I would recommend going to Boston when it is a bit warmer and the duck boat tours are running, this house provided a great place for our family to hang out when we needed to warm up from the chilly air. Many restaurants were within walking distance, and it wasn’t far from the nearest MBTA stop. We loved the 3rd floor master suite (FYI the stairs to the 3rd floor are pretty steep), which has a small sitting room that was perfect to entertain the little kids before the rest of the house woke up. With the kids and grandparents with us, it was nice to have a big dining table for us all to eat takeout from one of the local restaurants, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We road-tripped to Boston, so it was great to have a dedicated parking spot. The host was very nice and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay in this piece of Boston history and hope to come back someday!

Great home with lovely outdoor space!

This house was perfect. I stayed here with friends & colleagues for a conference at Harvard, and it was everything we needed and more! The home had a warm eclectic vibe with a fully stocked kitchen and enough space that 7 of us were not living on top of each other. It was walking distance to everything we wanted to see, from Harvard yard to the North End, and close to the train station we used to visit Salem. Lynne, the host was a great communicator and very kind even when we had to wake her up late at night (after having had a few drinks) when one person in our party accidentally locked us out. Her cats who hang outside the house were very friendly too! Would absolutely love to stay here again. Highly recommend.

This lovely home was perfect for 6 adults and 1 child and you will find it spotless and comfortable. The location felt very safe and was extremely walkable for anything you may need. Nice big kitchen with windows overlooking the deck and garden. The parking easily fit both of our cars. Lynne was very easy to contact when needed but was respectful of our family’s privacy. - perfect for a family gathering

Everything about our visit was terrific, My seven year old and five year old grandchildren from Portland Oregon( and thei parents) got to meet their three month old Boston cousin for the first time. The location was perfect for visits to wonderful children’s experiences in Boston. And my Boston granddaughter and her parents came every night for supper around a very well equipped kitchen and a large dining room table. So grateful to our host Lynn. Lynn. She was helpful and easy to connect with.

All We Could Possibly Have Asked For... Plus More

House was absolutely excellent and everything we needed for a stay in Cambridge to celebrate our daughter's wedding. Comfortably fit our family of 6 adults for 4 nights... 3rd floor (with roof deck) turned out to be perfect for the bride and her bridesmaids to get ready on the wedding day... kitchen island was large enough for everyone to gather... patio and gardens were very relaxing... having a driveway to park in was super convenient... location could not have been better: quiet residential street, but nearby were restaurants, coffee shop, grocery store, church, wedding venue. Lynne was very responsive, accommodating and also just a really nice person.

I love to garden, hike, travel and spend time on the Cape with family and friends. I've lived in this home for over 30 years, having restored, improved and maintained it during this time. I've lived on this block since 1981, and grew up within a few miles -- so I know the area well and love it here.

Why they chose this property

Centrally located to take advantage of all that Cambridge and Boston has to offer. Off street parking for one vehicle and nearly lot for another, but you can walk or take the subway to all major attractions. Just blocks from the Charles River, wonderful restaurants, shopping, and Kendall Square.

What makes this property unique

Beautifully appointed 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom home, minutes from all major Cambridge and Boston attractions by foot or public transportation. You’ll have a private entrance, off-street parking for one vehicle, spacious and well equipped kitchen with private deck, beautiful garden, and courtyard. Extremely comfortable, inviting, quiet and private.
