We had a wonderful time with very gracious and friendly hosts and other guests.
They have a really nice fish cleaning station and catching salmon right of the private river dock.
Very nice property. However, wifi was used up and tv wasn't picking up Dish or Direct tv. Fishing dock and extras were great. Sarah was a great host. Looking forward to 2026.
Fantastic location along the Kenai river. Swing open the front door, slip on your waders, grab your fishing pool, walk down a few steps, and a private fishing deck awaits you. Caught our sockeye limits within an hour. On-site owner, Sarah, provided a really nice, personal touch. Showed us the cleaning station and chamber vac process. Will def stay here again.
Sarah is an amazing host. Very friendly and happy to help with whatever is needed. She set us up with all we needed ( including instructions) for processing the fish we had caught at the VRBO. They have an industrial vacuum sealer and fish cleaning station that makes it easy. The accommodations are very comfortable too!
We had an incredible stay at this beautiful house right on the Kenai River. The location couldn’t be better — you’re literally steps away from the river. It was perfect for both our fishermen and those of us who just wanted to relax and enjoy the scenery and peacefulness of the water. The views of the river and surrounding scenery are stunning, and it was such a special treat to watch a seal swimming right from the deck.Inside, the house was spotless, comfortable, and felt like a true home away from home. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed — from cookware and utensils to spices and essentials — which made it so easy to prepare our freshly caught salmon. I highly recommend this Kenai River house.
We spent a great three nights and caught plenty of red salmon right off the dock. Maurice and Sara are great hosts and were available if we needed them. There were 5 of us and the beds and bathrooms were Greta, the kitchen area is just a bit small and so is the living area. The only negative was on our last morning, we woke up to find that our fishing boots (Xtratuffs) had been stolen from just outside our door. A realization that things are not always as safe as you think they may be and put a bitter taste in our mouths.

Dear Tracey. Thank you so much for your great review! We love hosting you and family in our beautiful apartment. We always want our guests to have a wonderful time and we are so glad you were able to bring a lot of salmon home.
We had a fantastic family weekend at this rental! The hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating, and we were pleasantly surprised to see that the unit was completely upgraded! It was so nice and exactly what we we needed and more.
First time renting directly on the Kenai and it was awesome. The place has been fully remodeled and is clean and comfortable. Hosts are friendly and helpful. Really nice platform for fishing and cleaning station. I’ll be back.
Very nice and very clean multiple bedroom/bath place right on the Kenai River. Close to town, quiet, nice riverside dock, great fish cleaning station and large freezer to store your fish in. Staff were very friendly. Highly recommend this place!
3 of us stayed in this quaint cabin and had a great time fishing! Right on the river! Sarah is a great host and the place is close
to town too ! I'll be back.
Had a really great time there. Host was amazing. We’ll be back!

Nice place to stay
Our stay at Maurice's was very enjoyable for the 6 of us. Maurice was very accommodating and Sara was the sweetest thing, we enjoyed visiting with her. The fish numbers were down, but the fishing dock was great. We would stay there again.

We really enjoyed our stay. Very convenient, 5 minutes to grocery store and restaurants. The apartment was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The fishing was excellent.
Maurice & Sarah are the best, they are fun to visit with. We will definitely stay again with our new found friends on the Kenai River.
Sarah, the salmon patties were excellent, thank you.

Location, Location, Location!
First of all, I have to say this is not the Taj Mahal, but it is not supposed to be. This is an "upscale" fishing rental. Normally I consider a fishing camp a place for a bunch of guys drinking beer and cleaning fish. That is not that. The building has been divided into two apartments on the first floor. One has three bedrooms and the other has two. The one with three bedrooms is a duplicate of the other but the living room has been converted to a bedroom. It also has two bathrooms, you do have to go through the very, very small kitchen to get to it but, hey, it's a fishing camp! What makes this a four star is: #1.The location, directly on the Kenai River, #2. The owners Maurice and Sara Bloom. What a lovely couple, Maurice is the personable front guy that you will adore. His wife, Sara, runs around like a cute, lovable butterfly who works 20 hours a day doing things for everyone else, from making her wonderful spring rolls to baking blueberry pies. She plants the flowers, she makes sure you have everything you need, she gives you hugs, she makes you want to come back again and again. To Maurice and Sara, thank you for a wonderful stay at the Kenai River Hideaway.

Great time on the Kenai!
Excellent location, both close to town yet secluded on the river. The owner is extremely nice and takes a lot of pride in his property. The boardwalk and cleaning table are well set up for fishermen. We would definitely rent this property again!
