I’m sorry to hear we didn’t fully meet your expectations. The cabin was built in 1987 and, while it isn’t new construction, it’s carefully maintained and updated. We take pride in keeping it clean, comfortable, and welcoming. While we respect your impression, we haven’t received concerns about the floors being “rickety,” and it’s not something we’ve experienced ourselves. As for the beds and pillows, we typically receive positive feedback about their comfort, though we understand preferences vary. I’d also like to clarify the water situation in Vernon. By state and federal standards, the water is safe to drink. However, Veolia, the provider, recently didn’t meet one of New Jersey’s water treatment technique requirements. Out of an abundance of caution — especially since we have a small child — we personally use bottled water for drinking and cooking. We shared this info and safe-use tips for drinking/cooking tap water in the pre-arrival guide that was emailed to you two days before your arrival. This applies to all accommodations in the area, though many may not mention it since no alternate water source is required. We thought clear, honest communication is the most responsible and thoughtful way to care for our guests - didn't meant to overwhelm/stress you. That said, we’ve revised the wording in our guide as it may have caused excessive concerns/misunderstanding, and we want to ensure the information feels clear and reassuring to future guests.
