We absolutely love this place..the rooms are ample sized with a large dining room table for meals and game playing. Beautiful outdoor areas for enjoying the property.
I was very pleased with our stay at the cottage. It’s so welcoming and feels like home. Everything you could possibly need is right there. The owner is so nice and accommodating. He even left the lights on for us since we were arriving later in the evening. I would definitely go back when visiting the area again.
Brooks, is an excellent host who is well versed in the local community and experienced in local dining recommendations. Cottage is aged, but gracefully appointed with modern conveniences, including internet access and cable television.
This home was very clean. The decor was beyond charming. Our toddler enjoyed the jackalope- while my husband and loved the original fixtures and antiques.
Brandon was very easy to rent from. We will absolutely be back!

Upon arriving, I thought we must be at the wrong place. The property was awry and needed a lot of attention. Over grown shrubbery and 2 HUGE piles of mulch and a falling down structure met us as we first pulled up. Upon entering the cottage though, things started looking up. The inside had a warm and homie feeling and was quite pleasing. I won’t complain about the one bed that I am sure was 2 boxsprings stacked on each other because the other bed was soft and comfortable. Would I stay here again?
YOU BET ! ! !
The pictures of the house do not reflect its antiquity and charm. It is like stepping back in time to ene.ter the property and home. From floor to ceiling the structure absolutly antiquaited cute.
We felt very confortable there, had a wonderful nights sleep in the private setting with woods behind the house and a lush green setting around us. It was quiet and oeaceful. There is a green lawn front yard with a porch to sit in to greet the birds at sunset.
Our host Brooks was very attentive to our questions and needs and I must say, we had an overall beautiful experience.
This was a nice surprise located close to Helen, GA. We stayed here for a girls weekend to attend oktoberfest in Helen. It was located about 25 min away on a beautiful winding road. The property is definitely older but maintained and decorated nicely. The art on the walls were very cool to look at. The laundry and bathroom are combined so be aware of that for planning. The beds slept well. The place is dog friendly and there is a burn pit (firewood and roasting sticks provided). When its nighttime you can see the stars very well! When the sun is setting, it makes the mountain view from the porch beautiful. Brooks was great at communicating. We would definitely recommend staying here.
It was clean for the most part, but the tub/shower was really gross. It had mold growing under the cracks in the wall around the tub, which indicated it hadn't been cleaned well in a long time. I have bad allergies to mold and mildew, so it did make my allergies a lot worse. If you don't have that issue, you probably wouldn't notice, and the rest of the house was tidy and inviting. The appliances were very old, and running the oven set off the smoke alarm even though there was no smoke. The air wasn't running properly for most of the stay, but the owner did his best to rectify that before we left and was very accomodating on that issue. Overall, it was a nice little place to stay for our honeymoon for a few days. I would recommend it for a small group (no more than two couples or a family of four) as there are only two rooms and a pull out sofa in the little living room. It was perfect space wise for just me and my husband, though. Brooks was a good host and made sure we had what we needed!
Everything was very comfortable and met our needs. We enjoyed Helen GA, Uhuburg Castle and Ruby FallsThe area is beautiful !!

I am a native of Atlanta that has always been a country boy trapped in a city boy's body. Now, I have my chance to live my dream. I bought Sole Farm in 2013, 24 acres of magnificent rolling hills dotting with ancient Oaks with stunning views in foothills of the Blue ridge mountains. I built my dream house, a Tuscan villa, call Villa del Sole. It was finished in 2016. Green Shutters Cottage was the original 1947 mill house that was existing on the property where the Masters family lived for almost 60 years and farmed the land. The property is in conservation easement and will remain a farm for the duration of my life. I have begun to farm the land but in a different way. A hoop house/high tunnel has been added to grow seasonal organically grown vegetables..
Why they chose this property
