Located within walking distance to the train, and Wheaton college, this space is ideal for families visiting Wheaton college or the entire western suburbs Historic, lovely downtown Wheaton is a fifteen minute walk, with a wide variety of restaurants and shopping. Downtown Chicago is a 50 minute train ride.

We came in for our High School reunion held in downtown Wheaton and this property was a nice walkable distance and so adorable. Host communication and details for parking and check in were very detailed and we appreciated the cold waters and snacks that held us over until the event that day! The property was SUPER clean and so adorable & comfortble and we loved looking at all the "vintage " items in there. Hoep we have a chance to stay again!

The hosts were very friendly when we arrived and the place was nice and cozy as the title states. I will say the parking was a little funky and we had to wiggle around a tree next to the parking spot which seemed a little inconvenient. Other than that it was nice.

We were attending a wedding in the area. The cozy cottage was everything as described and more. It was beautifully and artistically decorated. The gardens were lovely. The place was extremely clean and very comfortable. This is now our favorite place to stay in Wheaton.

In a word, this stay was delightful. But I need more words. The coach house is a charming mix of antique/retro/modern with eclectic artwork made by the owner and her family. We had everything we needed for a carefree stay. The property is lush and secluded even though it’s in a town. We were just one block away from a grocery store that had ample hot food and deli items so we could make simple meals or just eat ready-made food. It’s just a short walk to downtown Wheaton, with shops, parks, and restaurants with a thriving social district. The owners were friendly and gave lots of tips for things to do. We had a tight schedule of family activities to attend in Chicago and the suburbs, but could see coming back again just to explore everything the Wheaton area has to offer.

This stay was perfect for us. The loft had everything we needed for our 4 day stay. We felt very comfortable and secure. Definitely an Artist loft, down to a penny backsplash. Location was accessible to shopping and a quick trip to downtown Chicago. The owner had quick responses to any questions we had and she gave great direction on parking and entry to the place. The property is beautiful.

Finding this coach house for a brief stop over felt like coming to your childhood family or favorite Auntie’s home. Our hosts were communicative, caring, and ensured a blissful stay. My shoulders relaxed, we calmed with the quiet of the trees and warmth of the furnishings. Great little place for a weekend getaway! The setting is lovely and peaceful. We loved the decor - antiques mixed with contemporary pieces. And real art on the walls! I do think people should be aware that the steps up to the unit are tricky and narrow - not ideal if you have any mobility issues. I would also have appreciated a small dish drainer on the counter. But overall it was well stocked with nice amenities.

I didn't realize it at the time of booking, but this turned out to be the perfect VRBO location for our trip! Extremely kind and considerate hosts. Peaceful retreat--great mid-mod decor, clean, comfortable, low/no scent products in use (many thanks for that!), easy-to-find, and well-located. Within approx. 15 min. of Morton Arboretum which was the focus of our trip. Ended up enjoying adding wonderful dining and shopping in downtown Wheaton, at host's suggestion, which had not been part of the original itinerary. Looking forward to a return trip!

The cozy coach house is a literal gem! The original art and retro styled furnishings are creatively appointed and make for an extra special stay. My teen daughter and I especially enjoyed projecting our Netflix on the big screen. The hosts are super sweet too!

My husband Bill and I raised our family of four children in Wheaton. It is an excellent community to live and raise a family. We hope you will enjoy your visit very much.

Why they chose this property

Our coach house predates our home and was built by the Guglers in the early part of the 20th century. Mr Gugler was a lithographer and the coach house was his studio. Horses were kept below, and Pershing street to the south was a dirt cow path named after farmer Pershing, not the general. The fireplace is built from his old lithography stones , which was an early printing method for the 1800's. From 1995 until 2010 the coach house served as my art studio where I created custom floor cloths.

Our coach house is situated on an acre of land in the center of Wheaton Illinois which is the county seat of Dupage county. Downtown Wheaton is a quaint and charming city with an abundance of dining options and boutique shopping
